Oasis is legit. Definitely NOT a scam!

They're an official supplier and one of the better ones.

But yeah...telemarketers calling you at home can be annoying. I personally never buy from telemarketers.

I received a call from this number this morning. They said that they were with Oasis Energy and that BGE had given them my information so that I could save money. I could not see BGE giving away my business so I asked her to send me something. She prattled on until I all but yelled at her that I do not and will not agree to anything over the phone and that if they want my business they will have to send me something. She referred me to their website (oasis energy (dot) com) and I hung up. From what I have been reading these people are scam artists of the first degree.

They left no message.  when I called back, the rep said the company was Public Power and was representing BG&E, then DelMarva.  I have neither, but after reading the posts, this sounds like a bogus
setup.

I don't answer calls from "Unavailable" as this one was.  They apparently do not leave messages, but they do call more than once.  The do not call registry is a joke!

I received a call from a man today that did not give his name, but said he was calling on behalf of BGE and that he could lower my electric bill.  He said BGE told him to place calls to the people that they hadn't heard from yet about selecting an electric supplier. When I asked who he was he said he was calling for Public Power Company and when on to ask if I had looked at my electric bill lately and that I should get it out so he could go over it with me and verify a few pertinent questions to have my rates lowered before the time ran out.  I told him I was not getting the bill out and that I had not heard of Public Power and would not be giving him any information until I checked it out on the Internet.  He was still talking when I hung up the phone.  He was not giving me any direct answers and was really pushing for information on my bill.  I felt suspicious that something wasn't right.

Woman said she was from Baltimore Gas and Electric and was calling about my accout.  Told her I did not have BG&E.  She asked me who my electric company was.  I told her that she must have this info since she claims I have BG&E and was calling about my account.  I hung up and reported to to the do not call registry.

Re:  301.842-7499

A woman phoned last week.  At first she said she was from PEPCO, but it sounded like she was talking in a call center with hundreds of people speaking in the background.  I said, "This isn't PEPCO -- this is a call center. Who ARE you and what do you want?"  She then said she was from a company called Positive Energy and wanted to speak with me about my electric bill.  I told her, "We're on the National 'Do Not Call' Registry and don't ever phone me again", and I hung up on her.

A few moments ago -- a week later -- they just phoned AGAIN.  I recognized the telephone number, didn't answer the phone, and no message was left.

I got a message while I was out about a call from 301-842-7499. After reading one of the messages posted about this number, of course I did not return the call. I agree that it can not possibly be a bona fide company with such erroneous information being offered.

Caller ID indicated "Not Available", but I answered anyway because it showed my local area code.  The female telemarketer stated that the call was from "Positive Energy."  I told her to mark me as "Do Not Call."

Called, said he was with PEPCO, then very quickly corrected himself and said he was with Positive Energy.  Continued by asking me about some sort of information that was mailed to me and wanted to discuss deregulation.

I told him this sounded like a bunch of BS and to stop pestering me.

While he was starting to justify his reason for calling, I placed the phone on hold and he eventually hung-up.

received call from this tel. no. today.  Person first said he was calling to lower my interest rate and in next sentence said he could lower my electric bill and did I see on my electric bill how I could lower it.  Then he said that congress just voted to de-regulate  the power companies (dah ... that was done in the Bush Administration years ago!).  Then he told me his co. name, Positive Energy and if I had my electric bill handy he could go through a comparison step by step with me.  I told him I was (and am) swamped with work and could he mail me information.  He said he would call back at another time and before I could reply hung up.  I'm suspicious of this, especially since he started the call with one statement, quickly switched gears, and then said that congress recently deregulated power companies.  That is why I saw your post.  I think we both should be highly suspicious of this caller.  If he could get some personal information from the bill, maybe he could get even more and steal identity.
