Debt Collector
RPM called several times.  I got several voice messages that went on for more than one minute, playing music almost the entire time.  At the end of each voice message, someone finally speaks, saying "Hello?".

I finally had time to call them back.  After being transferred to three different people, and landing with a woman who was obviously Indian (but spoke perfect English), she told me that I owe some money to Sprint.  It's a valid debt.  She had my correct address,  phone number, name, etc.  I will pay Sprint as soon as I can.  I have switched from Sprint to another mobile phone carrier (and saving almost $100/month on four lines).  I owe Sprint for my last month of service, and I will definitely pay them.  However, I have other priorities right now.

For now, I will put this number (and the other numbers used by RPM) on my reject list.  I hate collectors... especially when they call me and then put me on hold!

At a former job, I installed, configured, and managed an automated calling system for debt collection.  We had a good system and enough collection agents so that when the auto-dialer called a debtor, the debtor never had to wait more than a few seconds before a human representative was on the phone talking to them (with all of their account information automatically displayed on their computer as soon as the call was connected).

I designed, coded, tested, and implemented the software that interfaced the lending system with the auto-dialer.  My system automatically selected the accounts for collection, triggered the auto-dialer to call the customer, managed call queues (the system had 24 lines, and there were 6 collectors) so that there were never too many calls in the queue and customers never had to wait more than the time it took for the customer to say, "Hello? ... Hello?"

I even recorded my own voice in the auto-dialer.  I had friends who had accounts at the financial institution... and they hated getting calls from "me".

That was almost 20 years ago!  It is inexcusable in this day and age for these companies to expect you to wait more than 5 seconds before a human picks up the phone!  And then... when they pick up the phone... they should ALREADY have your information displayed on their screen!

That system... 20 years ago... could even handle in-bound calls, and automatically find the customer's information based on the CallerID.  Even when the customer called in to the collections phone number, the agents had the customer's information on the screen before they picked up the phone!

When I called this number to find out what they wanted, I was transferred three times!  Then, when I finally got to the last person, she had to search for my information!  I refused to give her anything but my phone number (as everyone should... never give your SSN, account number, DOB, or any personally-identifiable information to a collector... they should already know it).  It took her a couple of minutes to find my account and tell me why they were calling.  This is inexcusable.  Sprint obviously has my phone number (I didn't change it when I switched to T-Mobile).  They obviously gave my number to the collection agency.  The collection agency should have systems in place to automatically link the Caller-ID information they receive when I call them (or they call me) to the information about my past-due account.  I should NOT have to wait for them to find my information.

If I could do it 20 years ago... they should be able to do it today.

I keep getting calls on my cell  this number.   Asked if I was so and so, I said yes.  Then asked for my social security number.  I told him are you crazy?  You think I am giving you my social?  Anyway, said they are collecting a past due invoice.  I would not give him any info and asked him his name address and phone number this is what he gave me:

Mohammad @ 877-233-8527
RPM at PO Box 1548, Lynwood, WA 98046
When I asked for the physical address he did not want to give it to me.  He said I need to answer some questions first.  To which I said, you called me, so If you want to speak with me you need to answer MY questions first.  So he reluctantly gave me his physical addr.  Anyway this is their web site: http://receivablesperformance.com

I told him he needs to stop calling and to put anything he has to say in writing and mail it to me.  I will in turn respond in writing.  He got angry and hung up. Idiots.

I usually don't get into these silly little internet disputes, but Auto Medic didn't use "your" correctly the first time.

"If your going to make such an accusation to try and defend this piece of &*$# company,....atleast correct your spelling!"

It should be... "If you're going to..." .

Just thought I would clear that up... Anyway, in regards to the phone number, I know all of my debts and none of them have anything to do with this random phone number that keeps calling.

The number calls at 8 a.m., for the last week. I don't owe any money, nor have I've gotten mail about this company. They call, and a recording comes on, "Please stay on the line, someone will be with you shortly." Yesterday, I waited over 5 minutes. I work from home and can't stay on hold that long. So I hung up.Today they called, and I added them to call blocker.

Yesterday I received over 8 phone calls from the Credit card company wanting to give me a better rate. I'm almost thinking these 2 are connected. I finally spoke with the credit card rate scam people, who hung up on me, 3 times.

I got 2 calls from this number today: 301-882-9952. One at 1:02 pm and the other at 5:10 pm. Caller ID both times said: "RECEIVABLESPERF". I don't think I've ever received calls from this number before. I didn't answer and they left no message. A reverse phone number search on Whitepages.com says only this:

We have received numerous calls from this number on our landline and I have also received numerous calls from (240) 210-7114, which is also listed as RPM, on my cell phone.  We don't answer when either of these numbers comes up.  It's harassment, no doubt.  The calls begin at 8am and continue til 9pm each and every day including Sundays.  Very annoying.

This number calls and asks me to verify info and address, I ask what this is pertaining to and they give me a run-a-round. They said they want to record our conversation&  my information, my credit sucks due to identity theft and it's been a nightmare trying to clean it back up. I'm not willing to verify anything to these jerks, be wary of this company!

If you are going to belittle someone for incorrect spelling, perhaps you should learn to spell "you're." Your and you're are not interchangeable.

I agree. SCAM. They called me out of no where trying to collect a debt on a 7 year wells fargo account that I had. I asked them to send me some information about the account and the terms and conditions for repayment. They refused.  I called Wells Fargo and they didn't say they I had any accounts that were in collection.

I recieved a call from this company to "MY COMPANY" phone number, they hung up when I answered, so I called them back. The first time I was curteous enough to inform them that they were calling a "Company" phone number, they were looking for a person named "Carolina", I informed them there was no such person here or associated with my company phone number, the call ended abrutly.  I called a second time to ensure our company phone number would no longer be associated with this person's name "Carolina", the guy who answered said he could see I had already called, even though I didn't give him my name or number, "he must of been seeing caller I.D.", he became extremely rude and kept overriding anything I had to say, I finally had to threaten to sue his company.  I called a third time "now pissed off" and the woman who tried to be evasive when asked what her name was at first" assured me the phone number would be removed.  Funny how this number of their's has been reported so many times....."I guess the jig is up!!!"
