This was a callback from Barclay Card. I'd had a situation of Fraud on my credit card.
After two months of no credit nor correspondence to my account, I contacted them once again. I was (and had been) advised several times by call center reps that it was being investigated, but that they don't issue credits until its verified as Fraud. This call, I insisted on speaking to a Manager in the Fraud Dept. They call it 'Security' department, or similar. Anyway; that manager verified that an investigation had never been opened properly even though I had been contacted by Barclay at the time of the charges and advised that the two charges weren't mine.
She advised she would issue the credit and I should see it within 3-5 business days. She did process it and followed up with me by leaving a voice mail that everything was completed, which I verified via online account. The ID indicated her call originated from this number. It must be a local 'Main' phone number for Barclay Card, and appear regardless of which department is calling you.

This is Barclay. I had an Arrival rewards mastercard and I was having an issue with a miles redemption. Not a scam.

I answered the call even though i didn't recognise the number. The man asked to speak to (I don't recall the name exactly, but it was some womans name i didn't recognise and wasn't me), so I said "you have the wrong number" -he said ok and that was it. I wont answer another call from this number and i have no business with a Barclay's or debt collection. I will post again if i recieve another call from this number. My phone listed it as Wilmington, DE.

Yes, definitely Barclay's. Behind on credit card payments and they wanted to work out a payment plan. Very nice lady I spoke to.
| Jay 2013-09-25 23:11:47 Unknown |
It's Barclays alright, I'm behind on my payments and they just keep calling. It's not a scam number, but they are calling for your money.

I just received yet another call from this number. Usually I don't answer calls from numbers that I don't recognize but I'm fed up and decided to play along. Only now, when I have the phone answered, they keep hanging up on me. No message no nothing, just a click when I say hello. I went online to see what or who the number was registered to and found this site. So, I called Barclays and reminded them that my card is closed and I am on a hardship program and the payment is automatically deducted from my account. They claim they will put a note on my account to make the phone calls stop. We shall see.
PS - what shows on the Caller ID is Delaware Call - it doesn't say Barclays.

Got a call from Barclaycard (formerly Juniper) and it was definitely NOT a scam. I do have an account with them and I had filled out an online survey about their new website's usability.
They called me back and answered my questions that I posted on the survery. I thought I was going to get a call from a corporate drone using a script, but the rep was very good and personable. He even waived a late fee I had on my card from 8 months ago!
So I guess the moral of the story is to be nice to people who call from unknown numbers. It could even save you some money, as it did me. :)
And this is the first time I posted something positive on 800notes. Usually rant and complain like everybody else.

I was told it was because a woman was trying to open a card in my name with them and wanted to know if I had authorized it. I told her no way, and she said she would close it out and not let her have it.

It is Barclay's, but it isn't a scam. I just missed a call from them, and they left me a message. I have a reward card where I get gift cards sent to me after so many points. For some reason a gift card was returned in the mail to them, so they called to verify my address. It wasn't a recording when I called back. The lady who left me the message answered and remembered leaving the message for me.
NOT a scam!

Being an expat and living out of the USA I knew this was a scam of some sort. The "records" show a payment of $69.00 was made in Sept. 2011 and a balance due of $123.00 was still on their books. I told my son, in the USA, that the next time they called to tell them to contact the idiot who gave the $69.00 and ask them for the balance and if they balk at that they are more than welcome to call my brother-in-law (the attorney) who handles all my financials while we are out of the country. Do not mess with the Zohan. I plan to call Barclays and see what they have to say.

BARCLAYS BANK!
I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE LET ME KNOW THIS WOULD BE A SECONDARY # IF I DID NOT PUT MY HOME # IN THIS SLOT. LEFT ME FEELING LIKE IT WAS SOMEONE I DID NOT KNOW UNTIL I CHECKED WITH THIS WEBSITE. AFTER TALKING TO BARCLAY'S)( A WASTE OF TIME IF I MIGHT ADD) . I HAD JUST GONE ONLINE WITH BARCLAY'S THE FIRST TIME.

my 13 yr old got a call from these folks - but he did not answer it. He listened to me and will not answer calls if he does not recognise the number. Smart boy.

We are going through Money Management Intl. to pay off our credit card debts due to a lay off and they just don't get it. They are still calling CONSTANTLY even though they are receiving their payments. WHAT MORONS!

I registered a credit card that I have online tonight. This number was added as a second number on my account as if I had already created an account online and chose this number as a second contact. The number was listed as 1-302-255-8000.

We have received several calls from this number saying that we have an acct. with Juniper Bank. On one call, our son answered and they harrassed him. I just received another call and the man said we owe $5000 and how are we going to pay it. When I questioned him, he said they are quite sure they have the right person. I called Juniper Bank and they say they have no record of us having an acct. So, who is calling us?
| Josh 2009-08-20 17:41:07 Unknown |
it's Barclays Bank
