They call my phone 5 or 6 times a day and it is very annoying especially when I am at work.
Guest 2012-11-13 04:10:22 Unknown
Why don't you pay the money you borrowed back. You were given an opportunity and you need to be responsible for your actions. Get a job and pay them back, then the calls will stop.
mofosandersonlo 2012-10-31 23:18:30 Unknown
you mutherfucker..you probably will end up the same way owing money and not having a job to pay the FREAKING loans so shut the hell up you IGNORANT looser

Your continual calls are turning into harassment considering how often you call even when our son's loan payments are not in arrears. Please stop the constant calls immediately. My husband and son receive the monthly bill and attend to it a.s.a.p. Please note that my son is still in school and I believe he shouldn't have to begin paying back any loans until he is out of school, but that is between you, my husband, son and the U.S. and State Laws. Unfortunately, I am the one who has to deal with your calls all week long, can do not a thing about the situation, and would like the calls to cease immediately. Thank you.

Paid them 5 days ago and they are still calling. I still get junk mail from Sallie Mae to take more loans. Seriously!!!

They, Sally Mae, called my cell phone, I didn't answer. I then callled them back on my landline and politely said I never had a loan with them, gave them my cell phone number and they removed it from their calling list. Somebody named M. Cooley used my number as their's. Hopefully this will stop any more calls.

My daughter could not finish College!
Sallie Mae decided not to fund her 4th year in 2008!!
Wish they told her in year one so she did not build up a $130,000 student debt with nothing to show for it.
There are over two million students in the same situation.
Why should we feel compelled to repay the loan? (Yes we did sign Promisorry Notes! Salie Mae did not keep their end of the bargain).
They deprived my daughter from receiving her degree.
Sallie Mae should carry some of the responsibility for making such an un-responsible decision to pull funding fon students in their final year.
Do we need to remind them that 2008 was the unravelling of the U.S. (and world economies), the worst since the Great Depression. Four years later economies have still not recovered.
My daughter still has no degree and struggling to make ends meet in New York!!
Thanks Sallie Mae!!!

thats an obscene amount of money for a job at dairy queen. the government lies to get people to take the money, the students do the work, then the high paying jobs are no where to be found. probably not being paid back because the government lied in the first place.

I keep getting calls from this number multiple times every day. I don't know who they are, so I don't answer, but when they go to voicemail, all i hear is a recording of a partial phone number. Not going to call it, not going to answer. If it is SallieMae, I'm already paying, so I don't need to talk to them. I am really annoyed and want to be left alone. If reporting this number can terminate these calls I will be immensely grateful. Thank you.

Sarah. Unfortunately when you co-sign, the debt becomes yours as well. Take it from the voice of experience.

Sallie Mae is one of the nastiest, most predatory lenders out there.
Loan means risk for both parties 2012-08-01 18:06:58 Unknown
You're in idiot, guy.
Student loans being non dischargeable is an utter crime that creates indentured servitude. It allows the banks to loan to kids who they know will never be able to pay it back, and bear no risk for creating bad loans. That's called a moral hazard. It's also why tuition is so expensive.
Yes, someone who takes a loan has a responsibility to take it back. But the lender bears the risk that it won't be paid back due to any number of circumstances. That's part of why this little thing called interest exists. It's the lender's job to vet and qualify the borrower, in order to reduce their risk of non-repayment. This law enables them not to do that and have no consequences.
If a borrower is simply unable to repay a loan, that's bad, but it happens. That's why we have a credit rating system.

You idiot... Do you have any idea what an education costs these days? Probably not, you sound like a rich bi*** from the midwest whose daddy pays for everything. Your lack of understanding about loans is what's wrong with this country in a nutshell. "Screw everyone that doesn't have money already, it's their fault, I dont want to pay anything for anyone else. Dad, put some gas in my car and pay for everything!"
You suck. Jerk.

If the books the colleges sell weren't $200-$300 or the courses weren't so outragesously high, they wouldn't have to borrow!! Books that would be in my opinion $20-$40.

Number calls several times a day (starting at 8:00 a.m.). It's Sallie Mae; I already paid them last week. Have another payment due; but this is harrassment! I paid them at least once a month. I can't give more than what I have. I'm making $15,000 less than i used to. I'm doing the best that I can. Please have then stop calling me.
fred 2012-07-10 23:04:30 Unknown
Yeah, same here. I get calls but my sister-inlaw doesn't.
freddie may 2012-07-10 23:03:06 Unknown
umm.. yeah. Explain that to my sister who had her brains beat out of her by her crazy marine ex-husband (who is now serving 25 years for attempted murder)... my sister is disabled and cannot drive (due to the ocular nerve damage she is blind in one eye) and cannot get a job. Yeah, she got her degree and then the military turned her husband into a crazy machine. Beat her with a hammer 3x claiming some intruder did the damage.
She 3/4 of her frontal lobe destroyed by that creep.
Screw her, she still needs to pay her school loans - so say SALLIE MAE.
K.Fiocca 2012-07-09 20:04:12 Unknown
Called twice in a row ...would not say anything...annoying enough to pay to have number retrieved ...STOP THE MADNESS ! ! !

To the people preaching the fair debt collections act these a**les dont care and telling and reporting them obviously doesnt do s*** cuz they are in bed with the govt
Sarah 2012-07-04 03:16:48 Unknown
IT SUCKS WHEN YOU COSIGN FOR MY GRAND DAUGHTER FOR SCHOOL THEY DONT CALL HER THE A***OLES CALL ME!
Trish 2012-07-04 02:08:07 Unknown
If they are calling and you don't owe, tell them it's the wrong number, and if they continue to call, file a complaint with the FTC. It's against the law to continue to call if they have a wrong number. Check out the Fair Trade Collections Act to get more info.

Looks like somebody dropped out of school and decided to work at walmart. You seem very envious and I'll bet your meager wages don't amount to anything that was actually borrowed.
Columbia Grad 2012-03-21 16:00:10 Unknown
Boo Hoo to you wanting your tax money back! If you were half as educated as you were narrow minded you would see that the government is fleecing young men and women by increasing tuition to an unaffordable level forcing people to take out loans if they want to get anywhere in life. no one I know except doctors and lawyers , very few others notwithstanding, are able to afford to pay off they're student loans!
