Scam. They access your computer when you email back!!

Got a reply to my craigslist ad in Wisconsin. "Cute Mimi" responded wanting to come to see the item. I responded with my phone number (unfortunately),  then got another reply saying the anonymous setting was keeping her from getting my response and asked me to send a reply to "her" private e-mail (which, of course, gives out my e-mail address). The person asked me to e-mail to Ashley at tunnelback@gmail.com. After I replied and asked for "her" e-mail, I got the typical Nigerian scam e-mail.

Got a response to a craigslist ad I put up, and looked up the number to find all these concerns with this number. The email was from a Lisa Karen wanting to know when they can come see the items, and to email them back. The number and name was listed with the email.

I get these all the time.  I always respond with Send the check to Agent Johnson at FBI Headquarters, 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, D. C. 20535-0001, Phone (202) 324-3000.

I had the same emails from a listing on Craigs list. Except I got two, from different email addresses. One was from Lisa and one from Carrie. Lisa had the 302 phone number.  But the funny part is, one was hearing impaired the other was speech impaired!

received the same message yesterday from lisa also hearing impaired. iM IN TAMPA FL. After reading this post and already had replied i called the number to find out that it is called a pinging number and is only used for texting not calls.. what a looser...

Ugh... i got the same message.  So annoying.. I hate craigslist scammers! But love google and you all for posting these threads!!

I received the same email; She sent me email with same messages 4:08 am.

I now know what this scam is about, she sent me a Virus! YIKES!

OMG.....I got the same email this morning, what a let down. I have my email address and and cell number. I hope this Lisa can not hurt me with that information!

What I don't get is that people are being scammed from a lot of diverse locations. Either there is a network of people all hooked into the same scam picking up goods in various cities, or it is not about the items at all and really about getting your paypal email account. Once they have half of your authentication, they can try brute force dictionary attacks on your paypal account. If you give them your email and mobile number, they are moving along in an attempt to learn about your identity. I was stupid, and responded with my email and phone before I thought to google the verbiage and discover what was going on. In the future I will google first then consider whether I want to respond or not. I hope other people aren't so trusting.

Received same email today for a bicycle listing, exact wording as listed on posts here by other people. odd sort of scam.

I, too, had an ad on Craigslist. This person contacted me with this phone number...the same spiel of being hearing impaired. The email used was: kcastlien@aol.com. Signed off as Lisa. There is a ridiculous amount of scamming that occurs on craigslist. Every time I try and sell something (over $400.00) I get this happening. Smaller stuff is not prone to scammers...they must think it a waste of THEIR time???

I am selling items on CL got 2 messages from this number. the name they use is Lisa. the message is basically the same as above only they are speech impaired.

I received a response to my Craigslist ad . It said something about being hearing impaired and signed by Lisa 302-450-1353.

same message today in Los Angeles

I flagged it as a scam with Craigslist

Just received a call from this number trying to bundle my cable package with Charter.

same text and phone number got email  today. Flagged on Craigslist as scam. :))
