If you found your way to this web page, you've likely been scammed by the Platinum Trust card. PT runs 3 phone numbers that I know of:
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-888-382-7196   http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-302-482-8651   http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-302-526-4898

The Platinum Trust card works like a store credit card and is not a real credit card. It cannot be used to buy goods from any regular store from Walmart to Saks Fifth Avenue, or to buy dinner at a restaurant, or to buy an airline ticket, or to rent a car, or to pay a utility or medical bill, or to get a cash advance. If you were told that the Platinum Trust card is a credit card, then you were lied to and scammed. Their FAQ https://platinumtrustcard.com/pop_faqs.php says:
"Q: Is the Platinum Trust Card a MasterCard or Visa?
A: The Platinum Trust Card is a privately branded credit card which can be used to purchase merchandise at selected online locations. It operates much like a "store" credit card, similar to a department store charge card. It is NOT a MasterCard, Visa or American Express card.
Q: Can I use the card to get a cash advance?
A: No, the Platinum Trust Card is to be used to purchase merchandise from select online stores."

From platinumtrustcard.com Terms & Conditions https://platinumtrustcard.com/pop_terms.php :
"PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT MEMBERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO MAKE A REASONABLE INITIAL PAYMENT (UP TO 51% OF THE TOTAL PURCHASE COST) TOWARDS ANY AND ALL MERCHANDISE PURCHASES FROM PLATINUMTRUSTCARD AUTHORIZED WEBSITES."
If you want to buy a $500 computer, you will be required to pay up to $255 of your own money in hard cash up front and only charge $245 on the PT card. In fact, to use up the full $9,500 "credit" on the PT card, you'll have to buy 9500/0.49=$19,387 of merchandise and have to spend 51/49*9500=$9,887 of your own money in hard cash up front. Ask yourself what "credit card" will ask you to do that? What is the point of credit when you have to pay up to 51% of the cost up front? For every $1 you charge on the PT card, you will have to come up with up to 51/49=$1.04 of your own money in hard cash up front. Seems pretty stupid, doesn't it?

platinumtrustcard.com says you will receive a fulfillment package that "includes your credit card with a $9,500 unsecured line of credit ... and all of the information to online stores that you can use your credit card to purchase products." platinumtrustcard.com does not list those "online stores" so this means PT will tell you which hidden websites accept the PT card only *after* you sign up (pay $89+$19) for the card. This means you cannot check out those hidden websites up front to see if they're a good deal. Since the PT card can *only* be used on those hidden websites, there is nothing to stop those hidden websites from charging *HUGE* prices on the same goods that you can buy elsewhere (like Walmart) at much lower prices. By the time you find out the real cost of goods on those hidden websites by signing up, PT would have gotten $89+$19 from you in hard cash and will keep charging $19/month maintenance fee even if you carry a $zero balance -- that's 19*12=$228/year. Do you want to give away $228/year for nothing? What if PT makes it difficult for you to cancel as several posters have reported? Any company would advertise their websites to show what low prices they have, why is PT hiding their online stores? Do these websites even exist?

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE PLATINUM TRUST CARD. IT IS NOT A CREDIT CARD. IT IS A VERY EXPENSIVE STORE CARD THAT YOU CAN ONLY USE AT HIDDEN WEBSITES FOR LIKELY EXPENSIVELY PRICED GOODS THAT YOU CAN BUY ELSEWHERE (LIKE WALMART) FOR MUCH LESS. IT WILL KEEP CHARGING $19/MONTH MAINTENANCE FEE EVEN IF YOU CARRY A $ZERO BALANCE. THE PT CARD OPERATES IN BROAD DAYLIGHT WITHOUT FEAR OF THE LAW BECAUSE THE SCAM IS IN THE MARKETING AND NOT IN THE CARD ITSELF. THE SCAMMERS LIE TO GET YOU TO AGREE TO BUY THE CARD. POSTERS REPORT THEY WERE TOLD THE PT CARD IS A CREDIT CARD THAT CAN BE USED ANYWHERE BUT THAT'S A LIE. ONCE YOU BUY, YOU'RE SCREWED BECAUSE THE CARD CONTRACT YOU SIGNED IS IRONCLAD AND LEGALLY BINDS YOU TO HONOR TERMS THAT ARE EXTREMELY UNFAVORABLE TO CARD HOLDERS. IT'LL BE YOUR WORD AGAINST THEIRS THAT THEY LIED TO YOU. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THE PLATINUM TRUST CARD.

IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL YOUR PLATINUM TRUST CARD ACCOUNT :
From platinumtrustcard.com's Terms & Conditions https://platinumtrustcard.com/pop_terms.php
"CANCELLATION OF ACCOUNT:  Your PlatinumTrustCard.com account will remain active as long as Your account is in good standing unless You contact PlatinumTrustCard.com in writing, by phone or email and request to cancel Your account. The monthly maintenance fee charge will remain in effect so long as there is a balance owed on the account. PlatinumTrustCard.com, at its sole discretion, may cancel this Agreement, and may demand payment in full of the entire balance due if You default on this Agreement and after compliance with applicable law. In the event that PlatinumTrustCard.com cancels Your account, You will continue to be responsible to make full payment of any remaining PlatinumTrustCard.com account balance. You may close Your account at any time by notifying PlatinumTrustCard.com in writing at: 4001 South 700 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84107-2523, by calling Customer Service at 1-888-382-7196 or via email at Service@PlatinumTrustCard.com. Even though You may close Your account and cancel Your Membership, You will be responsible for making the Minimum Monthly Payment for Charge Purchases, the Monthly Maintenance Fee payments and for paying Your entire balance due. This Agreement will remain in full effect as it relates to Your line of credit and payments for charge purposes."

If you keep getting telemarketing calls for the PT card, their privacy policy https://platinumtrustcard.com/pop_privacy.php says:

I received a call from these people after having applied for a loan. They had all my bank information and said I could get a credit card with a $9,500. limit. Now I'm not the sharpest knife in the block but if I'm trying to get a loan obviously I don't have good enough credit for that kind of card. I have been trying to contact this company to make sure that they don't process the start up fees but I keep getting a recording that they" are having higher than normal call traffic" and to call back later. They are not open on the weekend. It worries me that they have my bank account numbers and can use them at will.I just tried to call them again. Still getting recording.

I asked  specific questions about this card. Can it be used as a credit card, can i buy gas and pay bills with the card. I was informed yes use it anywhere you would use cash and save the cash. I am on unemployment and really can't afford to lose this 89.00. I really thought that I was getting a credit card and then when they sent me my number and i activated it to find out that you can only use it on the computer. What SCAMERS... I called to cancel and explained what i was told and then told to call back on fri to find out if the refund is available or he is not available right now, I said that I was told to call today oh he is right here. Got transferred  to him and then was told to call back on monday, He wanted to know what school i go to i was like what does this have to do with anything he then said do you want your refund. I then told him that i would call at 2 and i called and was told that he is at lunch and will call me back at 430 i waited until 440 and called and was on hold until 500 at 500 they hung up on me. I called today at 410 and was put on hold then 30 minutes later he came on and said that i couldn't have the refund and that i knew what i was getting. I said that i was told that i could use it like cash and he said yes and you were told about the members rebate and i was like so alot of credit cardds offer rebates.  He hung up then at 456 called and said why don't we work it out if you go to the bank you will get nothing.

I applied for a stupid payday loan and have been getting calls from all area codes since. i have been letting them all know that I am not interested. these people are persistant and they were trying to get me to agree to letting them take $89 from my checking acct. i gave them a prepaid card # not traced to any of my money. i was curious to see how far this would go. they offered me  a $9,500 unsecure credit card. my 1st question was is this for online stores only and they said it was for all purchases and cash advances, but how can they offer me this deal when i can't even get a $1000 credit card?! i have had it with people preying on the down and out to make their money! they are worse than politicians! i can't wait to call these people in the morning. i really thought that relief was on the way and a new beginning was waiting for me. i am glad that i searched their number 1st before giving them any money.

This company is definitely a skam.  There is no place to spend the money they keep saying a card holder "deserves to spend". I did not join this company, but I did try to borrow $500.00.  That was a major mistake.  My personal information was either turned over to this PlatinumTrustCard or sold because instead of borrowing money, they took money out of my checking account.  No notice and they use all kinds of different names at the bank and on the notices I've been getting that I have this wonderful shopping card.  Again, I can't find anyplace that takes this so called "shopping card".  Oh, I get into shopping clubs, but none of them take this stupid Platinum Card.  I tried to borrow $500. and they took almost $500. from my checking account.  This caused a major problem with my account being overdrawn and my leg. checks became NSF.  Oh, they are good.  I've put a bunch of stop deducting from my account at my bank.  Just two days ago they tried to get $19.95 and were rejected. They use all kinds of names and got me over and over within two months.  I've reported this to my state's attorney general and they took me serious.  One caller even threatened me with the "scary police" coming to my home and the foreign accented caller said to me while yelling, "I know where your live!"  This was all over some bogus $250. that I am suppose to have borrowed in April.  I didn't even know about them in April!  I'm reporting them to every one I can think of and saving all these cards and sheet of informtion as evidence.  Also made a diary of their calls.

Well, Brian, the fact that you're conducting your "customer service" on this site speaks volumes about your scam. Your would-be victim did exactly the right thing by filing complaints with the authorities -- as all of your other victims (actual and attempted) should do, whether you're stealing their money or just violating the DNC laws.

And yes, as Brian says, scammers love it when YOU call THEM back. LOL!

Called this number back after speaking with a representative and being hung up on after asking that I be removed from their list. Was directed to call another number, which of course got me nothing but an answering service. Having become increasingly frustrated, I called them twice and left messages demanding I be removed and that I wanted a return call to confirm this was done, and stating that I don't appreciate being hung up on. I eventually did receive a return call to confirm, but in the meantime had been in a feud with their customer service rep through email about the same issue. I agree I was overly aggressive and used foul language in my email, but his response was that I personally attacked him, that I was telling the wrong person off, that I am stupid for having done what I did that got me on the list in the first place, demanding an apology from me, and stating that until he recieved one I would wait indefinitly to be removed from the list. That is obviously still pending. They are apparently a company called Platinum Trust Card located in either Las Vegas or somewhere in Utah, the BBB has alot of (unsurprising) info on them, and they telemarket "credit cards" to those with poor credit who have ended up on their list for a card that can be used to make purchases through select online retailers in order to build credit. The fact that they keep offering me $9500 in credit makes it all the more obvious that they are shady, as I in no way qualify for that amount. I have since filed complaints with the FTC, the FCC, and the attorney general in Utah, and encourage all of you to do the same if you have any trouble with this company. VERY harassing.
