I received a fake looking letter from Bank of America telling me to call one of the two numbers listed above because WalMart could had a problem collecting for a purchase made on line.  It gave the last four digits of my credit card.

I was on line with BOA for another reason when this was not mentioned by the service rep.

I think the Federal Trade commission should be informed.

This letter was in an envelope from TX but the numbers are listed with Verizon in Delaware.

This number and an associated 1-800-427-2449 number are fraudulent.  If you received either of these numbers in an email, letter, or other supposedly genuine correspondence, do NOT respond and give them any details.  If you want to check with BoA directly regarding the status of your account, contact them directly through the number on the back of your card, or via contact information on the actual www.bankofamerica.com website only.

I call this number from Crete as it was listed on my Bank of America Credit card as a collect call to report lost of stolen card.  I have now returned home and found that I had a $15.92 sent call on my phone bill. I will check tomorrow with the Bank of America.

I was in Ecuador and using my Amex in a department store.  It was declined as potential fraud, so the store manager called Amex and I authorized it.  No problem.  Then when I got my statement there was a charge ON MY CARD for $75 from AT&T for the two phone calls to this number, the Amex international "call collect" number.  How it got on my card I have no idea, unless the store manager (my card in his hand) somehow charged the call to my card.  I have disputed it with Amex, we'll see how it turns out.

This number is listed in my BAnk of America MasterCard as the one to call toll-free from outside the US.  I was in the Bahamas and called several times because of a problem with the billing. A recorded operator's voice announces "this number accepts collect calls".  I double-checked with the agent and was told it was a collect call. Yet when I received the BTC bill (Bahamas Telecommunications Company) there were two calls charged, one on 2/2/08 for $7.99 and another on 2/7/08 for $18.80.  I will contact BAnk of America in the morning regarding this, but I am not sure whose responsibility is to refund me for these charges.
