Greeting My Dearest One,

Good thing to write you. I search for an honest one who will help me after series of problems that befall me since the death of my late parents, so I prayed to God before sending you this message, that God will touch your heart to help me out. I know that this will not be an inconvenience or embarassment to you.

I am Miss Laran Mendoza, the only daughter of my late parents Mr.George Mendoza . My father worked with Sierra Leonian Embassy in South Africa for 23 years.

Before his death on the 10th Novemeber 2004, he called the secretary who accompanied him to the hospital and told him that he deposited a trunk box containing Eleven Million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars with one of the leading security company here in Abidjan Ivory coast West Africa . He further told him that he deposited the trunk box in my name as his next of kin to inherit it in case he die.

My mother died during child birth when I was just 6 years old, and since then my fa ther took me so special and ensured that he train me to the last level of education but suddenly his plans was abrupted by his sudden death. Dearest one, it is a sad news that after the death of my father, the uncles seized all the properties my late acquired but as GOD blinded their eyes, they could not see the documents of this deposit he made with the security company. So as I am writing you now, the documents are with me and I have not let them or anybody to know about it till now.

As you may know, my life is not safe here because one day the uncles will find out and deal with me as they have all along tried to do away with my life if not for God's sake I would have been dead by now. However, I will request for your kind assistance to present you as my guardian / trustee to the security company so that they will release the deposited trunk box that contains this money so that you will transfer it to your country investment.

Then after the successful withdr awal and transfer to your country , you will arrange for me to come over there to continue me education which is very important to me and the wish of my late father to see me in life as a doctor.

Dearest one, if you are current with the CNN news about africa Ivory Coast in particular, you will know that there is no peace, political crisis every now and then here and life is not respected here too, so it will be dangerous to have this huge amount money invested in a country that life is not guaranteed.

I will appreciate your noble suggestions and ideas on how to make my dreams come true since I am just only 20 years and have no idea and experience of any investment. You can assure me on the following :-

1) Trustworthiness to handle this my inherittance if released to you
2) Your finacial capability to handle this transaction
3) Your entitlement for this assistance you will give me.

Further to this, I will appreciate it if you can keep this transaction close to yourself a nd for security so that people wi ll not raise eyebrows on you when you conclude this transaction and have access to the money. Let it be between you and me and nobody else. yeah, i live in north central illinois and i got this call(13027578989) 7316819898 also called me, which is a spanish speaking call too.anyone else get both?

I just realized that there is no such thing as a do not call list either, check it out on www.snopes.com. snopes.com is a place where we could find out if the emails and certain stories we hear are true or false. I have seen them both. It is a great resource in finding out if all the chain letters we get are true or not...

Yes I just got the exact same call from another number.. 1-920-663-9898 I didn't give her ("Yesenia") any information to hurt me, I also had received this call a few weeks earlier (not sure about the number there) and the guy hung up when I told him my name in English. (Spanish speakers have trouble pronouncing my name). I saw their website, it looks professional, but I would rather be skeptical and say that it was a scam as well. "Yesenia" seemed very polite, I hear other telemarketers on her side, but that doesn't mean that they are trained to try hard and well to gain or trust and take our money. She even told me that she understood my concern and that I could find out more about the company and return the call later to claim my prize. I almost gave her my info there but decided to challenge her and do my own kid of research because any one could professionally create a nice looking website and make it seem legit.   Does anyone know of a way to get our numbers of telemarketers' calling lists?

I am in NJ 7.32PM EST; I got the call,but the caller ID was 1-541-964-1434; and since I speak Spanish, he said his name is Carlos Rodrigues, from Travel and Tours,about I prize for a trip to Orlando and Deytona, with passes to Disney World , etc.  He even game me the phone # 800-677-1434, to call and ask them about him; he said that the program was monitored by the Federal Goverment; when I asked where they were located he said in Miami, close to the Airport and near the building Televisa building; he said if you are Mexican you know Televisa (this is a big TV company in Mexico. He promis a trip to Orlando, Deytona, and a Bonus to Las Vegas. I did not give my card account #, I gave a fake address, and I didn't give my full name; the only thing he need was the "code" in the back of the card; I went to my bank account on line and I saw that he charged my card for $199.00; I told him that I didn't authorize to charge my account; he said "I told you that the fee for the processing was $399.00"; I said I did not authorize you to charge my account; I want my money back now!; he said, with that attitude I can help you; I said I need to speak to your supervisor; he said I will not give you any supervisor, with that attitude, I can't help you; you lost your prize and your money, and he hung up on me. I called my bank to close the card, and to make a dispute, and I will go to the bank tomorrow to fill a special form for the dispute.
I did a reverse look up and the only thing I found is that the number is land line from Oregon. I tried to call the 541-964-8989, and there is only a recording about the number not in service.  The 800 number, is a recording that takes you nowhere.  Press 5 to make a complaint, and it takes you to the first option, pres # 2 for customer service, and you can't go further.
Please email this information to everybody you know.  I am ashamed that the guy is Mexican, I could tell by his accent.

You people might want to check to see if any of your friends purchased a time share. I found out that one of mine did and gave my phone number out to the time share seller. A mutual friend was called by this number (302...)the other day and the operator told him the exact name of our friend they got the phone # from. Apparently she was reluctant at first, but after a little interest was shown in the promotion she gave out the name.

This is so weird I was just trying to find who is this person googling it but saw so many coments. I also got the call 3/10/08 at 8:38 PM and didn't answer it. WEIRD.

I have been called by this number about 3 times. I'm from Southern Cali and I haven't answered but they don't leave a voicemail. I returned the call and a recording answered saying to file a complanit to the FCC at this number 1-888-225-5332.

Continuing from my last post above, we called the bank today and sure enough
they charged my husbands Debit card $399.....the name of the company is
Traveling Tours......I contacted their customer service and they stated that
the company that contacted me from this 302-757-8989 number is an outside
telemarketing agency who sells their vacation promotional packages, and the
startup fee is $399. I advised the lady that they are misleading people into thinking that they have won these vacation spots as prizes and are
asking people for their CC numbers and not telling them they will be charging it....So to answer everyones questions, This number is a solicitation number or sales call for a company called Traveling Tours so
don't bother picking up.

First I received this call on 3/10 at 5:24, when I picked up it was a lady
speaking spanish telling me to press 1, I just hung up because I figured it
was telemarketing. The next day my husband gets the call and presses 1 and he speaks with some lady named Selma and she tells him that he was a winner of some vacation spots and a cash prize, and his name was chosen by his visa
card or something. They asked him to give his Visa card number to verify if
he was the correct winner, and like an idiot he gives the lady his credit card number and of course it was the correct card. He even gave them the expiration date and the numbers on the back of the card. They gave him a number to confirm his prize..800-677-1434. I googled the number and
the name of the company is Travel and Tours, they have a website, TravelandTours.com.....I went to their contact page and it wasn't the 302
number it was a 407-856-0115 and this is in Florida. I am going to call to call the bank and cancel his card, then I am going to contact customer service to verify if the call received was true, so to anyone, beaware.

was on a conference call (with Delaware) and picked up my cell thinking it was my son.... only to hear a screaming spanish lady ... Vigin Mobile, NY  call was 1.41pm

Called my cell @9:23am left no msg. I called back & got " we're sorry your call cannot be completed as dialed"...just another pest I suppose...

I got a call from this number about an hour ago, didn't answer because i'm at work. I decided to google it because I didn't recognize the area code and don't know anyone in Delaware.  I have a Virginia phone number, and use Verizon Wireless.

Got this call at 10:30 Pm CST ON 3/10/08. I didn't know the number so I didn't answer it and no message was left. Seems awful late for them to be calling huh? Also my number is on the national do not call list so if they call back again, I'm going to answer.

I just got a call from 302-757-8989 bu didn't answer because I don't know anyone in Delaware.  They didn't leave a message so I called the number and got a "We're sorry...your call cannot be completed as dialed..." message.  After looking this number up on the internet, I discovered that there are a number of us that are wondering why they got a call from this Delaware number.  Very suspect.

I did too!  Same number.  Missed the call.  Said Deleware.  I just tried to call it, and a recording said,"All circuits are busy."

What gives?

I received a call from this same number.  According to my phone it was at 8:10p PST last night (Mar 10, 2008).  The phone was in my backpack and I didn't realize I had missed a call until now.  No VM.  I noticed others mention Cingular in here, my cell is a Cingular pre-paid... maybe just a coincidence?

I got the call sometime last night on my cell phone.  AT&T customer.  I live in Illinois.

got the call for the tenth time this month. I think its automated and randomly dials numbers. Its  the same for three  numbers that call from Alabama and New York. Anyone that speaks spanish would be helpful to know what they are saying?!?!?!?

I live in Dallas and got the call on my cell.  I tried to call it back on both my cell and my office line but got the message "we're sorry your cannot be completed as dailed please check the number and try again."

got a call on 3/10 @ 7:44pm EST from that number 302-757-8989.  did not answer

i received this call too @ 7:32 pm arizona time but i didnt answer it. no voicemail left. tryed to call back but line is busy.hope authorities start an investigation on this unknown number.

Got a call last night at 8:24 in Rockford Illinois on my office phone.
I dialed it back and get message that it has been disconnected.

This phone# also called me and I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the #.

i'm in portland, oregon, and i got a call from this number at 11:35 am on my cell phone. didn't answer, didn't leave a message. sounds like whoever this is, is wasting a whole lot of time.

I got the same call at 8 pm in Wisconsin.  Phone was on silent. It's ridiculous that cell phones are getting spam calls now.

I live in Vegas too and whoever this is, got my cell # somehow and called me at 1:30pm today. It was a missed call though. Spanish huh? Could be Univision asking us to subscribe or something! (wink!)
