how is this in anyway

2. ethical on the phone company's part to allow this kind of scam to happen.
have recieved several texts from this number and never signed up for anything or asked to receive this crap.

Received my latest AT&T bill with this $9.99 charge. I e-mailed them and told them I did not purchase/download anything from this company. AT&T said they would take the charge off, after I said if they didn't, I was moving to Verizon.

I.just got one yesterday -and it coast me 9.99 on my cellphone. myphone is pre paid and is really adding up.The number i get on my phone is 781-49 .The phone number i get on line is 303-219-9466.

This number is calling me, too, 3 or 4 times a day. All of a sudden I'm getting a text message from 78149 telling me 'lovetips4life Flirting tips; 3 msg/week for $9.99/m T&Cs.............." and the message goes on to say that I had signed up for some sort of dating advice service for $9.99/month.
It will sign you up for a pay-for-service scam on you phone. I was also told that they can find out who the number belongs to, where you live, you personal economic situations, get into your bank safe-keeping box, etc. They steal your identity, raid your bank accounts, etc
A friend told me that a computer system randomly dials cell phone numbers it hacked from your provider's "secured" system. When the phone line is answered by you, the hidden virus activates this monthly charge for some service you didn't order and bills it to your account. It's another phone scam, in other words.
It works much in the same way that opening an email with a hidden virus attached. That virus might make life annoying (call and hangup)
I texted back "Felony. Jail time. Minimum 5 years. USC Title 47, Article 15". I got back a text "Error: Invalid number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code"
Yet, still they keep calling.

This number has called me at leadt 3 times a day for the past week! I JUST got another call from them ... its 9:30pm!!! What do they want and how did they get my number. Like everyone else, no one EVER picks up or leaves a voicemail. How can I get this # to stop calling me?! Help :(

Received two calls from this number.
The first time there was no sound on the other end, it just disconnected.
The second time they asked for some one, who I've never heard of. When I told them they had the wrong number they said that I was very fortunate because they were a sweepstakes company in Utah (and they're calling with a Brighton, Colorado number? [Also, I think it's a Google Voice number]) and that I could win if I still had a MasterCard, Discover, or AmEx card, I told them I didn't, to which the lady asked if I had a MasterCard or Visa Debit card (because I would still be eligible).
Kinda seems like a bit of a scam to me.
