do not approve anything from these people saying they are "Verizon's new long distance carrier".. I listened to the very quickly speaking sales rep and was starting to think it sounded like a good idea.  little did she know I work in telecom for an international carrier, and I understand the business.... one quick google search and I called her bluff saying that "Peak has nothing to do with Verizon whatsoever, and I just found at least 10 scam reports on line".  she quickly changed her tune and said "oh what?  i'll just send you some info in the mail so you can see who we are then'" and hung up.  clearly she knew she was busted, and didn't even pursue the conversation further.... SCAM!!!!!

They can change it, beacuse you gave permission to..when you give out your dob during a FCC mandated verification..you are giving a verbal contract to have svc changed.

this is a fact any outside 3 rd party can not touch your phone lines only your local telephone company can, they add svc remove svc and yes block svc, people really need to get correct info before going on the internet and slamming a company, make sure you know first who to really be mad at, no wonder the BBB gave Peak a n F no one has a clue on what or who to blame!

or if you do answer just listen to the verification that is were they go over the plan you are signing up for and if it does not sound good, hand up, that is why the FCC has them in  place.

yes, what you can do is contact your local telephone company, a lot of people don't know this but all the services you add to your phone are put on by your local telephone company and yes they even add PEAK COMMUNICATUIONS to you line if you complete the verification stating you want it, but all you have to do is get a 3 rd party block on your line, and than when your telephone company get's a sales order they know not to add it, or second option listen to the verification and if it is anything differant than the sales rep told you hang up..the FCC has those for a reason!!!!

Just received a call from Peak Communications.  The caller said he WAS from AT&T - I asked on a number of occasions and his answer did not change.  He was a very persistent guy who speaks very quickly.  He said he would lower bills by up to $17/month (with reduced long distance rate and charges).   I had access to the internet whilst I was on the phone and noticed that Peak has nothing to do with AT&T.

Peak called me and made me believe they were a sister company of AT&T when in fact AT&T is only contracted to do billing for them so their services come on your AT&T bill.  They are in no way affiliated with AT&T and I confirmed that with AT&T myself.  AT&T can block doing their billing but Peak can bill you separate.  You have to call Peak and cancel.  The rep from Peak misled me also by telling me that I would get 40% off my total AT&T bill when in fact they only bill for long distance.  He told me even though I didn't have long distance on my phone I still was paying for government fees and taxes and incoming calls.  He convinced me that those fees would be less by 40% when in fact I would be charged $5.95/month and .065 per minute.  So if I didn't use my phone at all I would be getting a bill for $5.95 when I didn't have long distance in the first place.  Thats the scam!  Beware!

I just received a call from a female agent claiming that they were from AT&T. She stated that she could lower my long distance phone bill by aswering yes to all the questions. Unfornately for her, I do not have long distance phone service only local calls. The question that threw me off for a limb was "do you know that the represesentative is from peak communications". How could the agent be from AT&T and peak communications. I answered no on the question that wuld transfer my services. Lastly, I called AT&T and they stated that they are not affiliated with peak communications. The AT&T representative is currently discussing this issue with his boss.Everyone should call AT&T and report this scam so that they can help prevent this problem.

This afternoon we received a call from this number and the woman on the line attempted to give the impression that she represented our long distance carrier, AT&T.  She said she had been reviewing our bill and was reducing it by $15.00 per month because we didn't place many long distance calls.  However, instead of being free, future long distance calls would cost 6.5 cents per minute.  I told her we weren't interested in changing our plan and she said something rude and hung up.

Caller informed me that my AT&T bill was going down next month.  When I informed caller that we dont have AT&T, She insisted that we do have AT&T. Again I informed her that we don't have AT&T, at which point she said "Your lan",I said "What?', then she said "Your FU##ING lan!" At which point I hung up.

THESE GRIFTERS SHOULD BE CAUGHT AND PROSECUTED!!!

These people phoned me 4 times today. When I answered they were rude as other people stated. If you try to call the number back you get a busy signal. They are a company called Interactive Solutions and the (303) area code places them in Denver, Colorado. They also do business as Driversed Com, offering web solutions in addition to phone and internet plans.

A Peak Communications representative called me at home and represented themselves as AT&T, saying that they could save me more money on my phone bill by changing my current service plan. The person calling had all my personal information, and was very assertive with me. I am a very ill 80-year old woman on a fixed income, and some days I'm not as sharp as I'd like to be, but since it was AT&T (I thought), it would be a good idea to reduce my current phone bill.

I want to be clear here...I NEVER KNOWINGLY APPROVED TO CHANGE MY TELEPHONE SERVICES OVER TO PEAK. NEVER!!!

HA! Boy did I get snookered by Peak!!! When my next phone bill arrived, there was a charge of $14 for a call to information (which I did not make), and it was charged by some company called Peak Communications. Well, this was the first time I had heard that name, so I immediately called ATA&T. They explained to me what may have happened and how I came to be hooked up with those bottom-feeders at Peak, (my words, not hers), and she changed me back to my original plan with AT&T, and removed the exorbitant fraudulent charge to Information.

Today is the day before Thanksgiving, and I am once again able to make long distant calls on my phone. Why? It just so happens that the day before (November 23), Peak Communications had once again pirated my phone service and put a service block on my calls so that I could only receive local calls. I couldn't call out to my family who were 18-miles away because that would be considered long distance. Do you know how frightening that is when you are sick, elderly and alone, and can't reach out to your family for help? I tell you, it's very scary! I immediately again contacted AT&T, and they assured me that they (AT&T), in no way tampered with my service, and that it was the work of Peak Communications.

For anyone reading this, please be aware of any "phone company" representative calling you and posing as your current provider. Chances are, it's those sneaky b*****ds at Peak Communications, so be sure you get a clear answer from the caller as to who they work for. But hey, Peak lied to me so why wouldn't they lie to you.

By the way, Peak Communications is listed on the Better Business Bureau website with an "F" rating. I urge you to take the time and make a report so that this company gets run out of business.

FIRST FORGIVE ME FOR PUTTING THIS IN ALL CAPS BUT NEED TO GET MY POINT ACCROSS

1. PEAK COMMUNICATIONS IS A SCAM

2. PEAK COMMUNICAITONS IS NOT PART OF ATT, VERIZEN, QUEST, SPRINT ETC...

3. HANG UP THE PHONE AND TELL THEM YOU WILL CALL THE FCC AND THE BBB IF THEY CONTINUE TO CALL YOU.

4. THE BBB GAVE THEM AN "F" RATING, WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?

peak communications  are at it again calling the riverside ca area  telling people they can save 30 percent off there phone bill by switching over

the caller is name Rick Williams ( which im sure changes call to call)  and will give you a identification number claiming to be working for Verizon and will tell you it wont effect your current bill  how ever if you are in a package deal it does and according to Verizon he is not a employee  they have put a 3rd party bill blocking service ban on my bill  to insure this company does not bill.  And both phone numbers they give you to call will be disconnected.

Do not switch your billing service w/o telling them you are going to call Verizon customer service dept first on another line while he holds  i can assure you they will most likely hang up
