So my CPU has been acting up and my husband said he was gonna take a look at it on Wednesday this Indian guys a call my husband saying he's from system mechanics and that my CPU was breeched and that he could help fix it. My husband knows a few IT stuff so the guys remote into the CPU and was doing his thing until my husband decided to ask him and few questions.. Basically it didn't add up so he disconnect the CPU and called sys mechanics and now there working on my CPU .. Alway mike wanted $400!!! Smh

    Yes, I got a call from this number. Guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from Sys Mechanic. said I had errors coming from my computer. Was there any problem? I knew well that this was a SCAM call so I told him evrything is FINE!. Still insisted there was a problem so I gave him the ole dial tone in the ear.

This jack*** named Tom called me x2 from this #. He upset me +++, telling me my computer has 4 hackers,  was full of viruses, thr list goes on. I'm a senior so he thought I would be an easy target. He identified himself as a technician from System Mechanic, iolo technologies company. He wanted to put  remote control access  on my computer. I told him if he called here again I would call the police. He also wanted money.

Got the call yesterday the jerk  with an Indian accent, said his name was Jeremy from System Mechanic and that my computer was sending things back on the network that could mean a bad problem for my computer and he was calling to help me take care of the problem. I was leery and questioned the call, he was able to give me all the information including my name and address and that I had System mechanic for a while now. Since I am a valued customer they were here to help. He had me to connect to www. Ammy.com and scanned my computer showing over 36,000 irregularities , also the scans with the red files. He said these were files my virus scan would never pick up. He asked me to hold while he discussed with his senior tech how long it would take and what it would cost. I grabbed my iPad to pull up the System Mechanic website and the first thing I read was that System Mechanic will never call you to fix your problem. When he came back to the phone I read it to him and told him to stop that moment, he hung up. I then called System Mechanic explaining what had happened. They took over my computer and used a trial of Super Antispyware to scan showing 919 different threats and immediately removed that from the screen. Then she went into the file system asking me if any of the files looked like anything I had downloaded. She said she could not delete them and needed to talk to the senior tech to see how many techs would be needed and how long to take care of the problem. Her reply was to buy a Technical Service program from System Mechanic for 1 computer, 1 year for $199 or an even better deal for all the computers in the house for $395 or a one time charge of $99.95. Feeling like I was being taken advantage of again I said I couldn't do it and hung up.  I used the Super Antispyware to scan again and followed through and deleted what it had found. No other virus scans showed any problem but the computer is going to the shop, calling the bank too. BEWARE

Call from some guy with an accent hard to understand. Something about getting error messages from my computer and he had some fix. My fix was to tell him I did not want anything to do with his system and I hung up.

My caller ID says its from Solantech.

I have received a missed call from this number at least two times in the last couple of weeks.  I do not recognize this number.

They are hackers.  Last December I got suckered.  The guy claims to be from System Mechanic and asks if I have heard of the company... I have because all my computers have System Mechanic Pro loaded.  The guy said they have been receiving reports that my computer was being hacked.  They ask you to connect to a site that will give them remote access to your computer.  Then they execute what appears to be the DOS command "Dir /S"  but the second half of the listing shows your files in red.  When I asked what they were doing showing the Directory list, the guy claimed he was "doing a scan"... at that point I hung up and disconnected.  The guy called back immediately.  I didn't answer but the damage was already done. He had deleted all the icons on my Windows 8 laptop.  Fortunately, it was just a machine I was using to test Windows 8 and it had no data.

From what I understand, they hold your data hostage but claim it's a virus then ask you to pay a fee to recover from the "virus" and get your data back.  They are thieves.

They are in India.   I don't see how they will be caught but there has got to be a way for whatever company owns these numbers to block them.

I got a call from them claiming they were from Iolo software (which I do use). CUssed the guy out in Hindi and hung up. I'm contacting Iolo next.

Still calling 4/7/14, persistent buggers. Told him computer was gone and I had a new one. He said it comes from the network. Im no computer tech but I know better than that. Hang up immediately!

Same thing happened to me last December. I told the guy that I would hang up and call Iolo directly asking for their IT support.
He hung up immediately. I haven't heard from him again until about 2 weeks ago; the number is collecting on my caller ID; has called 5-6 times. I did contact System Mechanic, and they assured me that they do not call their customers. The customer has to initiate the call for their support team.

This is the letter. If you are sick of these guys report them. There is strength in numbers. If he is really a foreigner we need to send the message to people of his ilk all over the world that they cannot victimize us.

This guy called me, claiming he worked for the "Security Center". Male, Indian accent. He claimed my pc was sending out info via malware. I asked him when the most recent data transfer was, he said it was an hour ago. I told him to stick it up his stinkhole, explaining that my pc was unhooked and unplugged for the last six hours because I was installing a new graphics card and doing general cleaning and maintenance of the tower. Definite scam! DON"T TRUST HIM!!!

I have been receiving calls from these guys weekly. I think that they are a perpetrating scams.

I've never had anyone pursue me so hard unless they wanted to sleep with me...all for a measly $500.00! (Did he give anyone else a quote for repairs?)

I reported him on fcc consumer complaints site under. You can complain about any unwanted phone calls. Any calls with bogus offers. Calls that use false phone numbers...like our friend here uses etc.

That application is a long one but we have to start complaining about this guy or he will get bolder and take scam further.

This D**khead just called saying he was from System Mechanic and he was receiving spyware activity from my computer. I ended the call right after I cussed the scumbag out.

This jack*** called and said his name was steve somethin' or other and that my computer was sending out error messages. Fist off,  this SOB has an indian accent.  I don't think there are any "Steves" from india.  Of course I used language on him that's not even in Websters Dictionary.  Next time he calls I'll record the conversation.  Of course I'll have to tell him before hand that the call is being recorded before I cuss him out again.  If the j*** off still stays on the line,  I'll politely explain the fact that the FBI may be interested in his tactics and the recording.  I kinda enjoy cussin' this guy out.  It gives me somethin' to do!

I don't know who keeps calling from this number I always ignore they never leave voicemail.....Apparently according to others its some kind of scam

Numerous calls from this number claiming we are sending bad information to the internet 'when the computer is on' or 'when we turn the computer on' Male, middle eastern accent.
Since we have three computers in the house that are always on, I was suspicious. Caller didnt even know how to identify the IP address nor anything else to identify which computer he was complaining about, but he wanted me to download something so he could fix the problem.

As if !!  

Scam and fraud are not part of your call type lists but they should be.

these guys keep calling my mom's house scaring her to death. She doesn't know very much about computers and this guy talked her into letting him go on to her computer remotely.

I don't know what sort of damage he may have caused but we are monitoring her credit since he spent about 40 minutes looking all over her computer and she didn't even know how to make him stop.

I wish that I could have a whole day with him. He'd know what an error message is.

He is worse than a telemarketer. He is a terrorists.

A scumbag with a middle eastern accent called three times at my place of work and four times on my cell to tell me that my computer was sending intrusion errors to his place of employment and that I need to download www.showmypc.com so that he could examine my computer.

I don't know how he got my cell number or intrusion errors from my computer because mine broke three weeks ago.

Sounds as though he is threatening you by constantly calling.

Your phone company is not going to do anything for you. You should take this phone number to your local police. You can't find out who he is, but they can if you complain enough..

Even if you don't go to the police you can write the federal bureau of investigations with this complaint. We all should. There is power in numbers.

Called my husband over 10 times. When he finally answered they claimed that they were system mechanics and that someone was trying to clone our computer. After my husband asked a few questions which they couldn't answer he told Them to never call again and hung up and they continued to call. He called system mechanics and it wasn't them who were calling. We have filed a report and made system mechanics aware someone is posing as them and trying to scam people.

I received a call from this number and they refused to say who they were calling from.  The have been calling me daily for the past 3 days.  It sounded like some Middle Eastern Indian so the computer scam sounds about right.

I wanna know how he knows that we have these programs.
