I started recieveing calls from  646-461-1383, 0000, and 781-443-7236 for about a month or 2 and I would always reject the calls. Then one day I decided to listen to my voicemail and a different person from each number left a message but i only listened to the message from 646-461-1383. And a guy named Officer Chris Matin <with and indian accent> needed me to get a lawyer and call him because I have criminal counts under my SSN number and under my name. So I call him back and he says that a loan agency is pressing charges against me <for whatever reason> and he asked me if I wanted to resolve this matter in or out of court and that in court I would have to pay $10,000-$20,000 but if I wanted to resolve out of court I would have to pay him $1236.59. I am listening to this man and baffled because I dont understand why I have to pay anything. He also told me that the "loan company" said that I recieved the money etc and we are going back and forth because Im telling him I didnt recieve anything and he keeps saying that he doesn't work for that company and that he is trying to help me resolve the matter and clear my "criminal record". So he tells me to write down that I have to pay him $150 that day and $200 every thirty days until the $1236.59 is paid off. He also gave me a case number and everything but when I tried to look it up, I couldnt find anything under my name. I am so glad I decided to google his name and came upon this site because although I figured it was a scam, alittle part of me thought it might be something serious. "Indian food to go" made some valid points and I am now going to file a police report....I am warning everyone I know about this scam these guys are trying to do. By the way...all this happened today 12-6-2011...Hopefully my message helps someone out there who recieved the same type of call I did.

Got called on my cell phone saying I had not paid a loan.  I've never taken out any loans except through my bank.  He was very rude and yelled for me to get my lawyer to call him.

I started receiving calls from this number about 5-6 months ago. For the first minute I was actually gullable enough to believe Officer Smith, despite his thick accent and lack of credible information.  He claimed to be from the Federal Financial Investigations Bureau, and it didn't take long to realize this was fraudulent, so I started asking about what branch of the government he worked for and if he could get me a job there. I always wanted to be in FBI! He tried several more times but eventually gave up.

I just got another call this morning from Officer Ryan (I think, it was hard to decipher actually), and I immediately told him I'd report him to the police. When I asked for his full name, supervisor's name, and all contact info so I could report him to the FBI, he started speaking in a low voice saying all kinds of vulgar things about what he wanted to do to me and my family. I told him to F*** OFF and hung up. If he calls again I'll try to record it so I can submit it with my police report, then I'll try to get him to start calling the local news like Indian Food said before.

This guy is full of it.  He's not even in the united states.   The best thing to do is pick up and hang up when he calls.  I cursed him out last time I talked to him.  We'll see if that works for a while.

As a telemarketer myself, I have experienced some people using your methods against me.   I think those things should be reserved for the truly evil entities, like the one we're dealing with in this forum, and not against people like myself who are trying to make an honest living.

I don't even sell things over the phone, I just schedule free estimates for homeowners on various home improvements.  But in general people won't take the time to figure out who they're dealing with.  They  blast the radio into the phone, go on a rant and scream at me, or give me a long diatribe trying to make me feel guilty for calling them.

When a legitimate business calls you to market something, all you have to do is politely say "Please remove me from your calling list, thank you" and then hang up.  It will get done.   Telemarketers are a LOT more likely to remove you from the calling list if you're nice to them.

Anyway I didn't mean to change the topic from our Indian friend, but I thought it necessary to caution people again using the tactics posted by 'Indian Food to Go' against just any unwanted callers.  Besides, if you do all that stuff and fail to request being removed from the calling list, it's almost certain you'll get called again, because it's the only way the telemarketer has to get back at you for mistreating him/her.

These people have been calling me off and on for about 8 months, ever since I got this number.  They always all asking for Arianna Huffington.  At first I was polite and told them apparently she used to have this number, but she no longer has it.   The calls stopped for a while, but lately they have started again, and now they're being more aggressive.  Today they called 5 times and never left a message.  When I finally answered on the 6th call, I told them I don't know who Arianna is and I wish they'd stop calling.   The guy told me he thinks I'm lying to him.   I couldn't believe it.  I asked him to repeat himself and he said "I think you're lying with me (indian english)".   I said "GO F*CK YOURSELF MOTHERF*CKER" and hung up on him.  He called 4 times in a row after I hung up and I didn't answer any of the times, but I called back and left a message to tell him I'm ready to go to the authorities if he calls me one more time.

Where is the best place to report this guy?   It's always some indian dude.  He has never asked me for money or even told me the nature of his business.

I also called 747-333-6281, 303-353-1867 using fake name "Steven Tyler", "Kobe Bryant", "Michael Jordan" and spoke with officer "David San Diego" who has a heavy Hindu accent....  I used an innocent voice first make it sounds like one of those victims doesn't know what is going on, then i keep asking them stupid questions like what is the weather forecast in India, did he likes curry beef....etc.  They called my workplace 50+ times the other day. So i let them tasted their own medicine i called them back at least 90 times. :-D   "Officer San Diego" got so pissed off call me all kind of names and hung up...

Prank Call
Quote from 2Creative Not 2 Get Even

""OK, first off, everyone CALM DOWN and don?t freak out about these guys.  No matter what they say or what they threaten, they CAN?T do anything to you.  I know every one of us has tried filing reports with law enforcement, FTC, FBI, ic3, etc.  It doesn?t seem to work, because these guys aren?t even in the USA.  So take a deep breath, relax and don?t let them ruffle your feathers.

Now, I started getting these calls about a year ago.  I have personally used all of the tactics below, and they do stop calling me for about 6 months?so the way I figure it, a little time out of my day to give them back a taste of their own medicine is worth it for 6 months of peace and quiet.  Keep in mind, as well, every minute you spend screwing with them on the phone is a minute they are NOT able to scam someone else.  (And the only way they will ever stop is if nobody pays them any money ever again!)  And now for the fun part?how to screw with them back.  I will start with the easiest and move up the line with the more time consuming:

If you have no time to mess with them:
a.    Just don?t pick up the line.  Let it go to voicemail and delete the message.
b.    Pick up the line and immediately hang up.  Keep doing it until they stop.
c.    Pick up the line and use an air horn or police whistle blown straight into the mouthpiece of the phone.  (I personally like the canned airhorn the best.)
d.    If they call while you are driving, turn the radio up as loud as possible and answer the line on speakerphone.  Don?t say anything, just let them listen to the blasting music.  Heavy metal music works best, but I personally have a CD with Star Spangled Banner on it, so I play that as loud as I can.  Just leave the line open with the music blasting until they hang up.

If you have a little more time to mess with them:
a.    Ask if they are related to the deceased (insert your name here as the ?deceased?) or just a family friend, because ?the viewing of the body if for family only, but the memorial service is open to everyone.?  Ask if they would like directions to the funeral.
b.    Simply tell them that you have read all about their scam on the internet & seen it on the news on TV, so you aren?t paying anything.  Don?t listen to any response, just hang up on them after saying this.
c.    Use this one only if you are willing to be as crude as they are:  Using the name they gave you (i.e., ?Officer Mike Taylor? was the last one I got), say, ?Is the this THE Officer Mike Taylor I read about on the internet?  Is it true what the posts online say, that you have such a small d**k that even camels won?t have sex with you??  Then hang up on them.
d.    (For this one, I must first apologize to PETA and all vegans, but it highly offends the scammers because they consider cows to be divine beings.)  Tell them you don?t have time to speak with them, because you work at a slaughter house and you have over 100 cattle you need to ?kill off? before the end off the day.  Then hang up on them.
e.    Are you good with theatrics?  Then try this one?it was actually highly effective for me:  Put on your deepest, scariest, growliest voice and just whisper into the phone over and over, ?I command the demons to come for you, I command the demons to come for you, I command the demons to come for you??.  Just keep whispering it over and over until they hang up.  I think this one worked well because they are quite superstitious.
f.    If you know a foreign language, answer the phone in it and just keep talking in unintelligible phrases.  The more obscure the language, the better.  Don?t know a foreign language?  Pig Latin seems to work just as effectively.
g.    Ask if they are calling from the convenience store, and can they give you last night?s winning lottery numbers, because you are sure you have won.  For any response they give to it, just keep yelling over and over, ?I won! I won!?
h.    When you answer the phone, ask them where your pizza is and tell them because they didn?t get it to you in the ?30 minutes?, you?re not paying for it.  Hang up.
i.    Tell them you are at work right now, but to call you back on your ?home? phone, and give them this number: 202-835-0778.  (This is the scam and fraud reporting division number at the FBI.)  Hang up.

If you are REALLY p***ed off, and have plenty of time to screw with them:

a.    Go on to Craig?s List and post an ad in the wanted section or services section  saying you are looking for a payday loan company because you need a loan.  Ask they call you right away.  List the scammer?s name and phone number as the contact information.  (This sends the scum-sucking bottom feeders off to call the other scum sucking bottom feeders?LOL)
b.    Go online and look for every free daily horoscope, free insurance quote, free mortgage lending, etc., and click on the ?have an agent contact me? link.  Type in the scammer?s name and phone number.  Viola!  Now they will get flooded with telemarketers as well.
c.    If you would like to blow off steam, and have no problem with swearing, just keep calling them over and over pretending you have Tourette?s Syndrome by just screaming obscenities in the phone until they hang up.  This works pretty good in the car, because no one else can hear you and it is a good tension reliever.
d.    Log onto these payday loan sites and enter all of the scammers? information on it.  This way they might even wind up on their own list!
e.    (Do NOT attempt this one unless you have state of the art spyware & virus protection, and even then, you still are taking a risk):  Go into your spam folder on your computer.  Find every email you can about ?you won millions of dollars? or ?the Nigerian lottery? or something to that effect.  Send it back with all of the scammers? contact information.
f.    Research for the phone numbers to both local and national TV news stations ?breaking news desk?.  Again, tell the scammer on the phone to call you at your ?work number? and give the number to the news station?s phone number.  (Hopefully, if the news stations get enough of these calls, they will start airing more stories about it, reaching more people and reduce the number of victims that fall for this.)

Again, before sending money to ANYONE, stop. Think.  Do you have any paperwork showing you owe money?  If not, ask for paperwork.  If they refuse to send it, they are scammers.  A real collection agency will always: 1. provide paperwork; 2. never yell or cuss at you; 3. never require you to pay first before receiving paperwork; 4. never identify themselves as an officer of law enforcement; 5. never threaten you with jail, arrest or physical harm.""

my suggestion to you is that you have him call the number and just get as much information as you can. they will have a lot of his personal information but dont pay them anything. after you get as much info as possible call the local police and file a police report. he would then need to talk to his boss and let them know whats going on so that he wont be penalized. Show them the scamers reports you found on line because there are plenty. Call the credit bearous and put a flag on his social, and any other organization this craziness may affect. Everytime they call bug the police because they act like there is nothing they can do. they will soon get tired of all these victims of the scamers clalling to report this and maybe someone will do something about it

so they called me on my cell, and reading all the posts i was hoping they would call me out of my name or some type of obscenity but i didnt let them get a word edge wise, but again as i told the other people if you call my cell or work again there will be cansequences and reprecutions. send some one to my home and you will meet Mr. AK. I then on ranted a few obcenities and hung up. Mr. Marcus cooper called me back and could do nothing but breathe in my phone with nothing more to say but met Mr Dial tone again. He must have decided not to call back. So perhaps if anyone else has this problem reach down deep with-in and let them have every ugly word you can possibly think of. dont hold back. Just pray to god once you finish and God is just to forgive. He knows your heart.

I just got a message from my husband telling me that the phone techs are getting calls asing for some one with his last name so he is the only one with that last name that works there so they told him about the calls. Now his boss has been made aware of the situation and now they are telling him if the calls dont stop he might not have a job. Due to the fact this officer Joseph Hall wont stop calling and asking for Mr. (husbands last name). He dont want to call the number because he dont know who it is or whats it about. Other than an officer keeps calling.

As i have read these messages i too have gotten these threatning calls. I reside in Texas and they called me from this colorado number at my job. I have had these calls on my cell phone before and they stopped calling after i told them to do what they had to do. and if anyone of them showed up at my door step i would let my peace make them steal. not said so nicely. they tried to threaten me more but im not so nice when i get threatened. So these new people called my job today, i cant allow my home attitude to show up at work so i decided to play with them. i pretended i could not hear them and then told them i dont work there anymore and the dumba**es still fell for that. he calle right back to leave a message for me with my "Boss"...ha ha ha dummmies. if you want to run a scam why dont you try to be like real athorities if thats who u claiming to be. I feel so sorry for the people that actually pay them...to not catch on to them u have to be living under a rock and know absolutly nothing about the law.

Never the less, im getting tired of playing with them i have contacted all three credit beauros and filed three police reports. i dont know what else i can do to stop this. The one thing that i have seen with some commality from this situation they claim to be from the same loan company cashnet. If this continues im planning on gathering as many people i can and filling a harrassment suit against this company because perhaps they need to improve their security on their site. I dont know about anyone else but im starting to get super pissed.

So, they call again this morning. Office line telling me they wish me luck in riding thru this problem if I don't call them back.  Then they call my cell phone.  I answer that, tell this little foreign jerk I know this is a scam and if they all me once more, I am filing a formal complaint.  So, the little jerk calls back.

This time I don't answer, he leaves a message swearing at me because I "hung up on him" and that he is sending police to my home (lists address - old one), and to my business (states business name only) to have the authorities take me kicking and screaming unless I call and pay them money.

So I filed a formal complain with the FTC. Then I called this jerk back, gave him the complaint number several times.

This is a TOTAL SCAM just looking to TAKE YOUR MONEY!  Please, warn your seniors, your friends.  They get just enough information from something that you look at on-line and wamo - they are after you!

Hope the little jerk goes back where ever he came from with all his little friends.

I was receiving calls similar to this at home and work back in May and then they stopped after my boss and me basically told them off. But then yesterday and today I received the same call at my home. I don't remember what the number was from back in May but I am going to try and retrieve it from my phone company and report them. Just wondering if anyone else has reported them to their local authorities also?????
P.S. The funny part is at the end of the calls in May they would say that if I or my attorney did not call them back then all they could do was wish me the best of luck. Really!!!!

Calls to my job started 6/23/2011.  A person with a foreign accent of Indian descent claiming to be officer Robert Butler (American sounding name to me)  was with Financial Fraud Investigation Dept. and he had a legal case that has been filed against my name.   Tried telling me I had some loan with a company I have never heard of and he had my social sercurity number.  What the heck?  He kept calling my work and he was told this is a place of business and not to call back.   Then he started getting hostile and yelling back.  I hung up on him.   He continued to call back and the customer service people wanted to take a message and then he started getting hostile with them as well and started calling them vulgar names and saying very unpleasant obsentities towards them.  This number will be reported to the local athorities and also the social security administration.
