These people have called my home 2 times within the past week. No answer when I pick up phone and no answer when I call back. Caller ID lists them as "North American". I wish they would stop calling. Yes,how do you block this type of call?

They called & hung up.  Don't know name of company but CALLER ID said Arvada, CO

Multipal calls never anyone there when calls answered. When attempt is made to call the number back only static when call is answered.

Just called 5:00 pm central time. I'm in Urbandale Iowa.
Caller ID says "ARVADA, CO" I have no recollection of any contacts there.
I didn't recognize the name, and I didn't answer.
Arvada is a town in Colorado, got that from Wikipedia.

This phone number called, was rude, then hung-up.
I would've said it was a kid, but they knew to block being called back - still pretty childish though!

answered and waited long time and nothing - only answered as we knew people in arvada and it is the holidays thought maybe a well wisher was calling us... not!

This number called today. When my answering machine picked up, I could hear people in the background but no one ever spoke. Caller ID says Arvada, CO

Today is August 25, 2010 and just got a call from this number.  I went to answer and they hung up.  Caller ID said Arvada, CO.  What's unusual is that when I went to dial them back, I got a recording that says the number has been disconnected.  I tried again and it happened again.

This number 303-423-2605 from Arvado, Colorado, called and left a message that I couldn't understand.  The voice sounded mechanical.  When I called back, the number had been disconnected.

called mY home like a drunk asking the household name....then no replay.

Got call from above # this morning. Couldn't call back on cell. Was concerned due to having family out there.

These jerks call me everyday.  At first they asked for "James" and I told them no one lived here by that name.  Now they just call and hang up when the phone is answered.

Called house three times.  We are on a no-call list.  They just don't seem to understand what that means

said they were a company selling household goods for handicapped people. Used a humble spiel, tried to say that selling ligt bulbs helped them live independently. Really tried to lay on the guilt. It was some black guy. Used the handicapped line.

Called our home, left no message. When we called back the number was disconnected.

This number has called several times, but they hang up as soon as we answer.
I tried calling using my cell phone, but the operator comes on and says that "call cannot be completed as dialed."

The girl that called me, was on one of the call dailer a computer that connects once a person asks the phone. She asked for Sheryl, her voice was that of a handicapped person, I explained I had no money to give and she hang up.
I don't know if this is proper or not but I this is wrong.  
And the don't call list doesn't apply because it is charity.

Arvada CO appears on my caller id.  No one said anything when I answered.  I'm going to put a whistle by the phone and blow it in their ear the next time they call.

The whistle thing used to work; but so many unwanted callers turned in claims for injured ear drum that the telephone indutry (as a whole) put a volume monitor on all phones manufactured, going forward 1985. HOWEVER, I've found that reading aloud either the Bible, or the most boring book you have on hand.  They don't call back!!!

You're right American isn't a language, the poster was wrong.  But the complaint is legitimate.  Criticizing the poster for that error just makes YOU look like a member of the intolerant, condescending pseudo-elite.  Argue, if you'd like, that for some reason this group is somehow not obligated to respect the National Do Not Call registry, but the pattern of hang-ups, not answering return calls, and not accepting requests to be removed from their calling lists clearly shows these are scam artists.

Received a call from this numberat about 6:30 pm. Caller ID displayed Arvada, CO. When I answered, a male, who appeared to have difficulty with pronouncing words, asked (by name) for my wife, or for the woman who had our telephone number six years ago. I told him they were two different people and asked why he was calling. He said good-bye and terminated the call. When I called the number back, I received the "number not in service" recording.

DNC appears pretty worthless when software can hide the number where the call originates. There has to be a way to track it though, as the telephone company bills for long distance calls. Too bad the telephone companies won't take an active roll to block calls with false numbers.

When I answered the call, there was a moment of silence, then they hung up.
