Weird. I just got a call from this number...

Digital voice "I have a call coming through"

Mediterranean-sounding man, "Do you know Susan?"

"Uh, no." (No Susan living here...)

"Okay. Thanks."

This is one of the numbers from them that called me. I do have a late account, but that is because of some hard times right now and I sometimes CAN'T make minimum payments for the time being. Since they choose to be so aggressive, when I see a strange number call, I let the phone connect then blow canned air right onto the mouthpiece.

My phone is ringing as I type this message.  It is 11:00AM and this is the third call from
the scumbags at WAMU.  Prodata Inc. 303481-0027.

Time for a class action lawsuit.  Any attorneys out there.  Plenty of plainiffs.

WOW - looks like I belong to the club now!!!!

I have had an account with Washington Mutual for years.
NEVER missed a single payment.
This past Dec - an unexpected situation arose in the first days of the month.
Wiped us out financially (for the month) - immediately got on the horn to all my creditors to advise and workout something for just that month.

Needless to say - WAMU was the ONLY one who refused to work with me.

By the middle of Dec, the calls started, made the regular payment on Jan 1 - they still persist. They still refuse to work anything out.... So now (like others) - I just let the phone ring.

Yesterday I opened a new card with a local credit union, who will pay off WAMU this Monday. Customer Service??????.... they must have lost that in the bankruptcy.

Will NEVER do business with them again.

I too called them in advance to let them know I was struggling with going from an $75k a year job to a less than $25k year position now. They were adamant that there was nothing they could do. I asked about a year payment assistance program that most other CC companies have, where they lower your payments and freeze your interest rate for a year, but no such program (or so they say). Well, since I was already at the 26% default rate, I told them I would pay what I could and when I could. Let's see what their next step would be. I keep getting calls, but no messages.

I called WaMu to inform them that I would not be able to make my payment for November BEFORE it was the due date, to be polite and see if there was anything they could do to help me, such as lower my payment, or defer it.  They were adamant that there was nothing they could do.  The very next day I started to get calls from a multitude of numbers, including this one, from 8am to 9pm about being late, and collecting.  Mind you, my payment wasn't even due yet! Talk about harrassment!  WaMu sucks!  The government gave them a break, wouldn't you think that they'd offer the same to others who were having a hard time?  Geez!

I agree that Washington Mutual has all these foreigners (hard to understand their "English"???) calling at all hours of the day and night ... especially Sunday evenings.  And yes, I have noticed many different area codes from which they call. I have struggled to keep current on my WaMu account, even went through a debt consolidation company briefly, who did nothing to get my proposals signed and program working (so again I am in the hole).  My other two credit card companies acknowledged receipt of the proposal, which they did not accept, but lo and behold, when I called WaMu, it had no record of receiving the proposal.  So WaMu continues to get $100 a month interest from me and charge late fees and over limit charges ... but they have no program to help me.  Soooo, I guess I must try to find another debt consolidation company.  Does anyone know one that is legitmate and can truly do the job to reduce interest and my overall monthly payment?  Thanks if you can.

I am behind with three credit cards right now, and WaMu is the worst bank to deal with because of their aggressive telephone collection tactics.  It used to be impossible to block them because they used to have only one call center in the 925 area code with about 300 different outbound numbers.  Now they try to trick us by using one area code one day and a different one the next in a rotation.  What I do is save all these numbers in the rotation as contacts, and assign a ringtone called "silent" to them (I found it as a .wav file on my PC and sent it to my phone via ActiveSync).  I get about 20 calls a day like this but now I don't hear them any more, and I don't have to shut my phone off any more because I am gradually filtering out all the unwanted calls.  I hate WaMu!!

This is WAMU. Doesn't do any good to talk with them anyway because their "reps" will lie and won't honor any promise they make to the consumer. A note of caution to everyone: The back of your bill states, "You can telephone us, but doing so will not preserve your rights."  Written communication is the only way I will work with these liars.

This is Washington Mutual.

If you are late, REMOTELY , by one day or more, you will start getting 8-9 calls a day starting at 8 a.m. until 830 p.m est ....

Every day , they call from a different number, not 1-800's but numbers like this one.
And every day, they switch the number they are calling from. Its always someone from their INDIA call center or another foreign country.

Im in the middle of a chapter 7.   Even when my credit finally gets straightened out, I will NEVER do business with WAMU again. They are the most horrid company in the world.

ITs harrassment, Ive told them several times to call my bankruptcy attorny and given th em the numbers, they dont care.

They also employ people overseas and pay them 3.00 an hour equivalent to US dollars. With a company that wont keep jobs in the united states , and has to outsource out of country for cheap help , and the way they do business and just be the a**es they are, I hope they all rot in hell and shame on them.

Jennifer - if you are actively involved in a chapter 7 case and your attorney has already filed the petition, your creditors cannot legally keep calling and harassing you. You need to threaten them with a lawsuit if they call you even one more time. IT's THE LAW! Speak to your attorney and let him know what they're doing.

I too get calls when the due date hasn't even arrived.  I also set myself up on autopay.  over a month and a half and they claimed they didn't receive the paperwork.  When I complained, low and behold they received it.   The lie here is that I received via snail mail that they were processing it over a month ago.

I too am looking to ger rid of WAMU.

PS  I refuse to talk to anyone about my personal credit issues who is NOT AN AMERICAN CITIZEN and taking a job from us.

WAMU pays overseas workers to make collection calls....I can barely understand them.  I ask to speak to a supervisor and/or manager and they tell me they are busy.  I don't advise anyone to speak to any of them until they can get a manager on the phone.  You try to tell them you will make a payment as soon as possible, but that still isn't good enough.  Maybe if they were here in the US to see how bad the economy is, then they would understand!

It seems funny to me, now that WaMu has gone backrupt that they can keep harrassing people for unpaid debts. Evidently they were in the same boat or the Federal government would not have intervened. Even with employing people from other countries, evidently to save them money, they weren't able to run their business within a profit margin. My wish, the CEO of WaMu would receive constant calls (until he or she dies)from people abroad, who he or she can not understand, until his debt is paid. Hoping, now that WaMu is mostly owned by JPMorgan Chase, they are only good enough managers of their money to employ americans; I will then speak with them!

Getting called everyday.  I have a Wamu card and am not late with payments.  I do not appreciate deceptive practices such as using the guise of PRODATA, INC.  So far I have not spoken to anyone but they call after the 9:00 p.m. cutoff time and would love to see them get a hefty fine but they only let it ring 1 or 2 times and will not leave message or talk to us.

We also are receiving calls from this number.  Also from various different states.  There has got to be illegal.

Let us get a class action suit going. Is there an attorney out there that wants to pursue this.  Plenty of people interested.

If you are getting these type of calls, notice the time they start each day the times during the day & when they end. It will be almost if not exactly the same times every day Monday thru Friday. This is a computer generated call. If you have a answereing maching when the greeting ends and the maching sounds to leave the message the call ends. The computer can't leave a message because it cannot talk. Basically it is designed to annoy so people will call customer service. It is another educated idiots idea to get people to settle an account. WAMU which is now JP Morgan & Chase uses Prodata Inc and various other unidentified numbers from all over the US.

I believe that according to law anyones employer can call a company that is disrupting thier employees time on thier clock and tell them to quit or face a day in court. You may check into that with your employer. I could be wrong on this part.

just an FYI, Dead-Air calls are considered illegal by the FCC, so you can file a complaint with them about these calls. I just did. Will see what, if anything, happens from it.
