I am now getting these, from "Scott with Account Services" (or Card Services). I jerked him around the other day by telling him I had to go find my credit card (I think I brushed my teeth, or took a dump, or something constructive while I left him on hold). Then I gave him a random number starting with 4, and he said "This sounds like a bogus number." I asked him why he called a number on the Do Not Call list. He replied, "Shut up, f**got," and hung up on me; I guess I did something to ruin his day. Nonetheless, the dumbbells called again today, but hung up while I tried to jerk them around.
Maybe I should ask their representatives, "Is this Rachel from [explicit profanity] Services?" (Rachel is actually Dana M. Miano, and her male counterpart is Christopher L. Miano per http://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases ... nforcement-case.) In any event, this is the level of respect with which one should treat these subhumans.
Remember to jerk them around first, though; if you use profanity, or ask to be taken off the list up front, they just hang up on you, and are not punished by having their time (and therefore money) wasted. What they need is to be strung along in this manner a hundred times a day, for several minutes at a time, until they realize that their illegal and harassing phone calls are not wanted.
Another technique is to let them hold, and then tell them you can't find your credit card, so you need a number where you can call them back. If they say they will call you back, insist that you need a number to call them, so you can verify they are a reputable business.

They are not drug addicted scammers. Scammers YES and addicted to your $$$
THEY ARE LIGHT TERRORISTS> DISAVOW THE LAW AND POUND ON PEOPLE TO STEAL THEIR IDENTITIES.
If our government didn't SUCK they would care more about protecting us than sending our $$ all over the place.
STOP THE BS Already.

You can report these calls to the US Do Not Call Registry, and with multiple reports, they will revoke these numbers from the people using them... do it enough, it will end up costing the scammers a fortune to keep replacing the phone numbers with new ones. They may get tired of spending money on new numbers, and give up.
That's my food for thought.

These people call on a daily basis. My husband answered today and pressed '1.' The person who answered would not tell which CC he was calling about and used extremely vulgar language when my husband pressed the issue.

I have received calls from this company several times, I mark it with spam, so I know how many times they call. SO sick of this BS, I am on the do not call registry but still get calls and they will not allow an opt out apparently

They call me from many different numbers, this one is just the latest. Every time I ask "what company is this" or "can you take me off your calling list", they just hang up. They called this morning and I asked the guy if he liked ripping people off. His exact reply was "Yes I do, you f****ng f**got".

I was able to goad my caller for a while, we went back and forth as I kept asking for his business address for verification. But then he got huffy and said it was a government program and he could disable my card for arguing with him. So I got nasty and told him that I could do some nasty and sordid things to his mother, wife and children when I found out where he lived. Yes, I was graphic and sick... but it was fun... I made him fight with me and waste time which I had all day.

I'm getting these calls pretty much daily now. I always give them a bogus card number that passes the Luhn check. Sometimes I can get them to make a second or third lookup by claiming I read the number wrong the first time, or by giving them a second made-up number. Today's call was relatively short at only 6:56, abruptly hanging up during the second check before I could deliver my usual punch line of "Maybe that's because I made it up to waste your time".

Card Services Scam. I kept the idiot on the line for 15 minutes giving bogus information. Finally, the person ended the call in frustration. Delayed the scammer from ripping off one of our senior citizens.

Kept this guy on the phone for 18 minutes with bogus credit card info. Told him he was my savior as I desperately wanted to lower the interest rate on my 11 credit cards. This d***hit took the time to take down all fake info, then came back on the line and wanted them all repeated. Repeated every card number, transposing two numbers in each. D***hit came back on the line and asked why I was wasting his time. Responded by telling him that his a** must be jealous by the amount of s*** coming from his mouth and that he should seriously go f*** himself. Pretty sure I'm off their list.

THE BAD NEWS: Card Services calls aren't going to stop anytime soon.
THE GOOD NEWS: You can retaliate, reduce the misery, and even have some fun.
RETALIATE:
Waste these turkeys' time. Keep them on the line by acting like an interested prospect. Give them bogus data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers, scrambled Social Security digits, and a modified ZIP Code. Important: provide a credit card company's real 800 number.
After they call the credit card company, you can give them the same credit card info as before with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to make a second verification call. Or you can respond, "Guess what ... H-O-O-N-N-K-K [from a $6 air horn] you've been PRANKED! Call back tomorrow for more bullshot." Now they're the butt of your joke.
REDUCE THE MISERY:
Landlines. Enroll for the free service at nomorobo.com. Simultaneous ringing, a free feature many providers offer, enables nomorobo to receive, answer and, after one ring, automatically hang up on nuisance telephone numbers.
Cell phones. Block the number, an option that becomes available on the iPhone if you click on the "i" on the right in the list of recent calls and scroll to the bottom. Unfortunately, Card Services will keep calling from new spoofed numbers, which eventually should motivate you to retaliate.
HAVE FUN:
Turning the tables on the perpetrators with mischievous deception and the news they've been duped provides instantaneous vigilante satisfaction. Plus you serve your fellow call recipients by slowing down this evil operation's efforts to defraud them.

These assclowns use hundreds of phone numbers across dozens of exchanges. They have effectively bypassed Do Not Call scrutiny because they operate offshore and are really good at the hit-and-run. They make money whether you answer the phone or not, so they aren't going away (and, in fact, have been doing this for -years-.)
The only real hope is the FCC making this a priority and developing the counters to stop it. Don't hold your breath.
| NotGonnaTellYa 2014-03-03 21:49:23 Unknown |
Yes, indeed. It's like when a man gets serviced by a "lady of the night", he gets screwed. So it is with the services of this company. Well put!

Just got another one from this number. "Thanks to the government bailout blah blah". I think I've gotten six calls from "Scott" in the last couple weeks. Now that I know to press '1' I'll have some fun with them next time.
