I just recived a call from the same number, i answered they never said nothin just hung up..when i tried to call back  they wasent reciving calls on that number,,i`ll fix it the next time it calls,, just answer it and start mashing buttons, hope it mess`es there auto dialer up.

it's your credit report, it you want it marked paid and you didn't pay it to the collections you have to provide proof.  So save that receipt or cancelled check, because if you need a loan or apply for a job that
checks your credit, you're gonna need it!!!!!!!!!

Company claims that I need to prove that I paid the debt - wrong they need to prove I owe the debt (there is a $0.00 balance on my account).  They talk sweet until they realize you know your rights - then she hung up on me.  Faxed them a validation request and will be very happy to report them to both my state Attorney General and the WV Attorney General if they place a collection on my reports for an account with a ZERO BALANCE.

Apparently they do not communicate or follow-up with their 'clients' - because when I asked them to check with the client 'they don't do that.

This phone number (304-291-2039) is a debt collector called Credit Collections USA.  I did a reverse phone number look up and got the address with no name.  So, I did a google search for the address and came up with Credit Collections USA.  If you need to reach them, since this number does not accept incoming phone calls, they can be reached at 304-292-3786.

I meant it will give you thier name. I have used this method to loacet family.

Caller identified herself with a fake name and demanded to know mine. This person was very rude and hung up on me when I asked what she was calling about. Obviously some kind of auto dialer. I heard a call center in the background and assumed it was a telemarketer.

That number does indeed belong to CREDIT COLLECTIONS USA,LLC which is a debt collection agency. They were calling my number and never leaving a msg either. I called them on their 800-number and determined that they were looking for a former tenant.

I know who it is...It is medical debt collectors. Their was a logo on one of my bills that said ACA International, The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals.  Their full address and phone numbers so YOU and call them is....

The poster above said he found the address was 256 greenbag rd, so I looked at this bill I just mistakingly got and bingo!

called and asked for me and if I lived at my address, when I asked who it was, they wouldn't say anything; so I hung up.  I googled the number, the address is 256 Greenbag RD, Morgantown, WV  26501.  when I googled the address, it came up Tatham's Garden Center and Landscaping.  Don't know who this is, but if I find out, charges will be pressed.  I have a good friend in the state attorney general office!

Mine was from an old professional anestesia bill I forgot to pay from Thomas Memorial hospital surgery.  Got it all paid up and should be fine, calls should stop now :D  
For those talking about statute of limitations, I'm pretty sure there is none on medical bills and they will stay on your credit either forever, until you pay them, or file bankruptcy. I fit into the catagory of making too much for help from the government and not enough to keep thousands of dollars worth of medical bills pd off immediately, but we are slowly paying them all off and should be totally debt free by end of 2010 and it feels great

They can all all they want.  If they don't leave a message, they don't get a return call.  Medical bills are considered open accounts or written contracts and covered by the statute of limitations in most states (3-10 years depending on where you live).  You can stop the calls by writing a letter and citing FDCPA (15 USC 1692c (1)).  Be sure to state their calls are inconvenient (you do not have to explain why) and they are to communicate with you in writing only.  Of course, if you have advanced call forwarding, you can set it to forward the call back to them.

As for those of you who insist that people quit whining and pay up, until you've tried being disabled with zero income for two years and no way to pay for anything - shut up and go do something constructive.

they refused to identify themselves, refused to tell me the reason of the call, rI asked if this is a collection agency, they refused to answer

I called the number back at 1am and there was a guys voice that was real sleepy sounding,,like i just woke him up. I said who is this, he replied "were closed!!!".

So I called back and and I heard a bunch of brething on the other line and I asked who are you and they hung up. Then I called back  and got the message "this number does not accept incoming tellephone calls"

Oh and if you are wondering, I called from my cell phone and used my recent call log, I did not dial wrong # by accident!!!!

Something is very fishy here and I wonder of the validity of so many of your posts. So many people here saying, Its just a collection agency, if you paid your bills you woul not have them calling.

A woman called me last night at home from this number and refused to tell me the name of the company she was calling from until I provided my address and other information. I advised I was unwilling to give my personal info to a total stranger calling.  I asked for the company name and a phone number that I may call her back at and she said she was prohibited from giving me that information until I verified my address with her.  I advised her I was reporting her call to the police as suspicious and plan on following through to the FCC. By law credit collection companies must identify where they are calling from.  All she would say was "I'm calling from a business in Morgantown, West Virginia."  I hung up on her and plan on reporting them to the Better Business Bureau as well.  See how they like that!!!

I got another call from them, they said "we know where you live"
