I just received a call from 304-445-6838; when the answering machine picked up the individual hung up. After reading the entries posted here I called the number back. There was a double tone (as if I dialed *67) and then a fast busy tone. The caller ID listed the call as a Wireless Call. I do not know anyone from that area or with that number.
Thank you for posting the information about this number. This is an awesome way for people to fight back against unwanted and unjustified calls!

Its a company that says they lower your credit card rate to 6.99%. But u must have over $5000 in credit card debt. I asked to be removed from their call list (I get calls from them all the time but from different numbers); they hung up! Some kind of a SCAM!!

I put complaints into my AG, the state that is saposidly out of's AG, and the FTC, I received a letter back from each of them, Its a scam but saposidly they can't get them shut down, the more complaints they get and they have been getting them for a few years now the harder they might try, Everyone should send them off a complaint with every call they get when they get bombarded then maybe we will stop getting bombarded.

You can register all of your telephone and cell phone numbers on the "Do Not Call List Registry." Once you register it takes 30 days for your numbers to appear on the list. Telemarketers cannot call you once your name is on the list.
However, I did have one telemarketer call for a fictitious person and when I notified her she had the wrong number she started her sales pitch. I told her I was on the "DNCLR" and she laughed and said that she didn't call me to begin with. It was then I told I was taping the call and you hung up!! I wasn't but she didn't know that.
It works!! One slips through the cracks but for the most part I don't get unsolicited calls.
Thanks!
Jay

Called today from this number- states "cell phone" and WV on caller ID. No message left when I didn't answer. Why do we get these calls if we are on the no call list? Is this legal?

I have received calls from these people for several days now. Today was the first time I was able to get a phone number.

To everyone,
If you got some other numbers, please post it...so for people who use Call Blocking or own a Panasonic phone can enter the number in advance. For those who don't use both, can print out a list, so next time you received a call can just check whether the number is on the list.....
I don't think the government is doing enough to help, we need to help ourself and each others.

I am getting the same calls about lowering interest rate on credit cards. You have to have at least $3000.00 in cc debt to take advantage. Some kind of scam. I just want the calls to STOP!

Got this call and could not trace it. Who is it?
Gigi 2011-06-06 20:45:06 Unknown
I got a call today from Account Services about lowering my interest rate on credit cards. I pressed 9 to speak with someone to see what the call was concerning. I don't remember the girl's name, but she said she could lower the interest rate on my credit card. I told her I didn't have any credit cards, and she replied, "That's strange, we show you have a Visa card." I again told her I didn't use credit cards, and she hung up. I don't understand why these scammers are allowed to continue to make these calls. I use a cell phone and don't like unsolicited calls ... these people are very annoying to say the least !!

Card Holder Services. They have been pulling this scam for years. Report them to donotcall.gov every time they call so that they will get enough complaints to do something about them.
Complaining here does no good.

EVERYBODY PLEASE NOTE: You have to say "Put my phone number on your Do Not Call list." Asking to have your number REMOVED from their calling list won't do anything because that's not the way the system works. They get new calling lists all the time and if your name was removed from the previous one but is on the new one, they get to call you again.
However, they are also required to maintain a second list of people that they are not to call. This list is not subject to change, so once you are on the Do-not-call list, they should not keep calling. They flaunt the law using this loophole. Tell everyone you know to use the phrase "Put my phone number on your Do Not Call list" instead of asking to be removed from their list.

Somebody with an electronic voice who identified themselves Rachel wanted to lower my interest rate (can you say scam?) I do not even have any credit cards. Violated the do not call list law. I support my tax money going toward catching these criminals , fining them and throwing them in jail. The govt needs money right now- they should appropriate all scammers property.

J.B. I got the same message and when I pressed 9 for them to take my number off their list, they laugh and say "Sure sweetie!" , then hang up! My answer machine usually gets them, but they are such a waste asking if I want my credit card interest lowered! I pay off my cards each month, so I think this is a scam!

I get multiple calls from this number each day. They have never left a message. I do not answer them. This is a nuisance marketing call and I do not want to be on their list.
BeHatein" 2011-06-06 20:45:06 Unknown
Give me one reason why we don't execute scum like this when we find them so they can't do it anymore and the others get the message it won't be tolerated. Someone mentioned a name above pull him in beat the living sh_t out of him and leave him in a room to suffer and die.
Sorry for the attitude but I'm just tired of never being protected by the law.

THIS IS AN IDENTITY THEFT SCAM. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.
jane johnston 2011-06-06 20:45:06 Unknown
These people have called my cell phone 7 times in the last 5 minutes. They are using foul & abusive language. Then they call back from 000-000-0000 I would like this silliness stopped.
Mama Mass 2011-06-06 20:45:06 Unknown
Well they should up date there info! I have no credit cards and they keep calling my home and cell.
maggy77 2011-06-06 20:45:06 Unknown
I get these every once in awhile. It is a recorded message about your credit card status - I don't have credit cards, so it must be a scam of some sort - I usually hang up after they say hello, and mention credit cards.

My caller ID said 304 445 6838 was coming from a wireless phone! Couldn't make out what the automated voice said over my answering maching.
