I don't think it's a spammer. I think it's a scammer. A spammer sends you unsolicited commercial messages. A scammer, in this case to be specific, a phisher, tries to wheedle personal information from you, esp. account numbers and SSNs, so they can rob you.

They were Reported to the "Donotcall" website by me today. They were very rude. I do not have a credit card.

Unfortunately there is no way to stop this from happening.
These robocalls are not coming from the phone number displayed in your caller id. They have a system to generate a random (but seemingly valid) phone number. They trick the Caller Id into displaying the phone number they want and not the actual phone number they are calling from. You get the fast busy signal when you call it back because it is an invalid phone humber.
They frequently use the "I have important information about your credit card" line to get your attention and hope that you will push a button to "speak to a customer service agent". If you get this call, hang up. If you press a button it tells them that they have a valid phone number so they add it to their "good" list and they keep calling. Its even better if you don't answer the call at all.
If the call was from your real credit card company, the first thing they would do identify themselves. They would never call and solicit information from you. The only time you would need to give out that information is if YOU call the company and need to identify yourself.
Best thing is to ignore them.

The response that I got when I asked which credit card they were calling about was to be called a "moth******er." To anser the question above of what to do: go to www.donotcall.gov and file a complaint. They do sue and close down these M*****F****** companies. Enjoy...

GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER EXPLAINING TO LOWER MY CARD RATES, PRESSED 9 AND TALKED TO AN OPERATOR. ASKED THE OPERATIOR TO REMOVE THE NUMBER AS IT OUR BUSINESS LINE AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT. STATED THAT I WOULD THEN REPORT IT TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND HE SAID GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.

Got the same call. Pressed 9 to speak to a representative. They answered and I asked politely "Please remove my number from your calling list" . He asked why and I said I was not interested in their services and to please remove my #..." he interrupted and said "Well you can suck my....." How do I find / report these people?

Definitely a spammer...
rule #1 don't answer calls from those you don't know.. that's what caller ID and answering machines are for
rule#2 never call back the number, that just encourages the buggers

I got the same call a few minutes ago. They hung up after 3 rings, but I wouldn't have answered it anyway. I'm going to block this number. Sounds like they're very rude in addition to being scammers.
