I got scammed by an advertisement on Mega 94.9.  I had supposedly won a trip to Orlando Disney, Daytona, and 1 international trip of my choice after answering "Quien es el cantante que canta La Camisa Negra?" .  It was a SCAM!!!  I had to pay $299 upfront for admin fees and then pay for hotel fees separately. A Patty Cox from Travel Laguna Suites charged me for $299, promising me that it was not a scam.

When it was time to make my first reservation to Daytona, I spoke to an Alejandra Divo from Vacaciones Laguna Suite/ Jexor LLC (Reservations Department) to book trip.  I had to wait 3-4 business days, so that hotel could process my request.  3-4 business days passed and I was advised by Alejandra that days were already booked.  When I asked the name of the hotel, she advised that she wouldn't know until she received confirmation from them.  Another set of days were requested and needed to wait another 3-4 business days.

Once the days were successfully booked, I was given a website to go to (greatvacationsnow.com) in order to print confirmation letter with details of hotel.  I couldn't open letter on website and Alejandra asked me to contact greatvacationsnow directly at 1-866-280-3120 to confirm hotel information.  Once contacted, I was advised by a customer service rep. that request was just submitted (truly submitted four days before) and that days were already booked.  The booking process had already been going for two weeks at this point.

I got fed up and asked Alejandra to refund $299 for vacation package and $148 for hotel taxes/ extra night.  She said that she could not refund $148 until hotel notified her that days were booked.  Needed to wait 4 business days to process refund.  The $299 package will need to be refunded by sales, she is not under sales, she is in the reservations department.

She advised that Travel Laguna Suites, which handled sales, could be reached at 1-888-789-0968 or 786-456-2550  to get refund for initial transaction of $299.

I contacted the number given and a Miguel answered.  He advised that he was not part of sales department either, he is under reservations and asked if I wanted to make a reservation with him instead.  He asked me to reach the sales department at 1-888-244-1909 to obtain $300 refund.  Once I called the number, a recorded message said:

?Felicidades su llamada a sido registrada.  En breve uno de nuestros agentes se communicara con usted.?

I called Travel Laguna Suites at 1-888-789-0968 back to advise them of non-working number and this time Cristina answered. She rudely advised that if I wanted to receive refund for $300 to fax her the bank statement with the company name or to call bank to dispute charges.

These scam artists keep changing the names of their companies and their numbers.  Be careful and do not believe anything that they tell you!!!

My name is Carlos, I have a wife and a 3 year old child. I was scammed by this “Magic Tours.” It began when I was listening to Radio 94.9 Mega, the Spanish radio station. They said “who ever can name the song will get a free vacation.” I called in, and got it right. They told me i was the tenth caller and i won a radio contest for 94.9 Mega (today I found out they were only a commercial on 94.9 Mega). I would get a free “vacation package” for 3 people, in  the Marriot Hotels in either Orlando, Daytona, Las Vegas, or Cancun (Cancun ended up being BS). They told me it was a $3,500 vacation which i will be getting for free, and everything will be COMPLETELY paid for and they will pay everything, and all i would have to pay is the taxes which was $400.00. Which I agreed because I never won anything in my life.

I gave them my credit card number to pay the 400$, and they told me it was non-refundable, and I agreed. I spoke to the individual for over 35 minutes. At the end of the 35 minutes the call ended by him saying, “pleasure to do business with you, hope you will enjoy your vacation” and I said “thank you so much for everything” and as I was hanging up he said “ok, just remember plane tickets are not included.” I replied “EXCUSE ME?” But it was too late and he already hung up. I called right back and a woman picked up, I told her what happened, and she said “that is correct plane tickets are not included.” And then she put me on hold for twenty minutes and then the line got disconnected, so I called back and they told me to call customer service in the morning and complain. The next few days I consistently called customer service and I was told by them, every time something different like: “leave a message,” “call this number,” “send in a fax,” etc… and I got the run around for 3 days until I finally got worn out. So I decided to just bite the bullet and go on the vacation, I live in the Florida Keys so to Orlando it is 6 hour drive. Plus they told me I would get a free pass from them to “one” Disney theme park. So this past Saturday I took my wife and my 3 year old son to Orlando, so I can take my son to Disney.

We arrived at the Marriot at Orlando on Saturday night, and when I got there there were 200 other people just like me who also were told they won something. I was confused and didn’t know what was going on. All off a sudden I realized I was duped into a “time share.” I realized that it was a scam, there was nothing paid for as they promised, except for the room. Which even, THAT, wasn’t paid for by them, because it was paid for with ‘my’ $400. So I went to the reception and pretended like I was a visitor and asked her “how much is it per room tonight” and her reply was “Throughout all of January, February, and March we are running a special 3 night package for $75 per night or a 4 night package for $50 per night. Which would total $200.” I was pissed. I was paying 100$ a night for a room which was currently 50$ a night.

The next day, Sunday, I was forced to sit at the “time share” which I was told was going to be no more than a half hour long presentation. It started at 11:00AM, I was planning on it lasting until 11:30 and then being able to arrive at Disney with my son and wife at 12:00. But I was held there and held there, at the “time share” until 4:30PM. And by 4:30 I realized considering all the traffic and everything it would have taken me an hour to arrive to Disney, and if I would arrive at Disney at 5:30, and by that time, the whole day will be lost. So I couldn’t take my kid to Disney yesterday as I promised him. So I had no choice but to take the long drive back home, because me and my wife had work the next day. I am pissed, I still have 3 more nights at the Marriot that I can use, but I don’t even care anymore. I complained to my credit card today, and they told me “vacation packages” are non-refundable. I am considering on just letting it go because it will be too much head-ache for me, and I learned for my lesson.

My dad told me he won a trip & that if I called up "they" would transfer the trip he won to me (4 days in Orlando 3 days in Daytona & Park entry- all expenses paid except flight & taxes). I called, they sounded professional & took my debit info for the $314.29 plus taxes. Something did feel funny & now I feel so stupid after reading this website. I don't even want to admit this to my husband. Calling my bank didn't help- they were suggesting that I cancel my card & wait to get my new card- which is not a viable option for me since I use this card for everyday expenses. My other option was to complete a "dispute form". I now feel resigned to go along with this... I finished calling "5 star" & they told me I couldn't get my $ back & that when I asked about the time-share commitment, they said that would only be a morning-breakfast situation & that I would get 1 day at Universal, plus 1 day at wet &wild (&/or?) Disney Quest.  :( then they go & politely wish you to have a nice day.

We were given names of Maya Tours and Total Tours. The number is 866-666-1114. My wife heard the same adversitement on FM104.5 Radio Latina in San Diego. The advertisement question is "Who is the Son of Mexico?" She called the number given above and the person on the other end immediately answers "Do you have the right answer?" My wife responded "Luis Miguel" they proceeded to tell her that she won Disney, Las Vegas and Cancun packages and that she had to pay the taxes of $314.00 She did not have her credit card with her at the time and was told that she would have to pay it in the next 10 minutes or lose it. She was able to get her AMEX card number and pay over the phone. After a 2 minute look at the internet I did find that this is a timeshare scam. We called Amex and cancelled our card. If you fall prey to this you will have to cancel your card as the transaction cannot be blocked. I'm even more pissed about this as we contacted Radio Latina and the said they are not responsible for any wrongdoing as this was an advertisement. THe problem with this is the commercial that is run is MADE to sound like a radio contest. I will be making complainds about FM 104.5 to the BBB, Federal Trade Comission and the Office of the Attorney General

Today I called a station in Puerto Rico.  They asked a question about the Television Show "Fliper" and I answered that it was a dolphin.  They asked me to pay $199 plus the ticket airplanes.  I told them I din't had the money.  4 days in Orlando and 4 days in Tampa Bay.  I was checking the Internet and found out it is just a scam.  Thank God I didn't do nothing.  I just gave them my name and my celular phone numbre.
