Called my wireless carrier, and they instructed me to test "STOP" back to the number. Seems like a stupid thing to do, but I did it anyway... I'm sure this will come back to bite me.

report them to the FCC. This is illegal. I actually replied "Send me a $100 money order or I will report you to the FCC for sending illegal unsolicited messages to a moblie device. You have 48 hours to respond."

Just recieved a text from this number and replied that a "complaint has been filed with the FCC and copied to Miami-Dade County District Attorney". Probably some loser from Latin America trying to make a quick buck.
