I got a call from this number.  It was a "hang-up" because I let voice mail pick up. I am on the do not call list. A friend told me that the time expires. I put my number on it again and I got this call after that.

Telemarketer
I received the call on 2/29/12, and for sure the survey is a come-on. I thought I'd go ahead and get the 'free' cruise after checking a few websites out and believing them to be a legitimate company. After hanging up I thought, 'What the heck did I just do?' I didn't want the vacation and I was relying on getting siblings to go with me to share in the expense, which was stupid to impose on them in that way, and since I had to "buy it now," I couldn't even confer with them. I remembered that in some states you have 72 hours to cancel a sale if you were solicited (*not* if you went to them - but they came to you). After seeing so many forums with complaints against them (they have an 'F' rating with their own local BBB), I was quite concerned . I called them the next day *with* my recorder running. However, they put me on hold and after 30 minutes, I hung up. However, the following day (today) I called when I had lots of time and got through to the *first* round in only 15 mins of holding. Then I got through to the next round and finally was able to get an email confirmation that they canceled it and my CC would be refunded $706.  If you realize you made a mistake, here are some tips: 1) Cancel within 72 hours (not sure of law in all states, though), 2) they will try to find out your reason for canceling - they have a new sales pitch for every reason. Try not to give them *any* reason, especially time or money - that's their easiest one to counter with you. 'I just changed my mind.' 'But something must have appealed to you when you decided to purchase it.' 'I can't think of what it could was now,' or, 'The pressure to buy now or lose it,' seemed to work for that question. 'Have you been to Fla or on a cruise before.' 'Yes.' 'What cruise lines?' If you lie about having been on a cruise to the bahamas or whatever your package is, be prepared to have the name of a cruise lines available that actually sails out of there. I didn't tell them my cruise was 40 years ago! Don't come up with any answer that they will be able to counter against. They are in sales - they will re-convince you to keep it and they are GOOD. They even will cut your price in half and probably more, taking out part of the package. Financial reasons, time reasons WILL NOT GET YOU OUT of a new sales pitch. They will keep digging for something they can work with. Be vague, don't give any real answers. 'I just want to cancel.' Keep in mind that the first guy that handles you does not have authority to cancel it, but he needs to go through his 'protocol.' Be patient with him/her and don't agree with any reasons he suggests to you. He would never answer me directly each and every time I asked him if he had the authority to cancel my package. His answer was (and this is a verbatim partial transcript of our conversation), "I have the authority to be able to assist you, ma'am. You called in for assistance and that's what we're here for." "Can you cancel this, yes or no?" "Okay, I'm not refusing your rights for that; I have a job to do I have a protocol to go through." "Will you answer my question?" "I have answered your question." "No you haven't. I said, yes or no, can you cancel this for me?" "I will not refuse your rights towards cancelling but I have to at least do my job." So I let him do his job, thinking carefully before answering any of his questions. One answer I gave to something he said about 'working this out' was, "I don't want to work this out, I want to cancel it." That seemed to get me to round 2. Similar tactics, same firm replies I gave back, "This sounds very generous, but even so, I still want to cancel." I tried to remain calm and *patient* throughout, and when they could see that I wasn't giving any answer that they could work with, they canceled. The entire ordeal took 1 hour and 9  minutes. From what I've Googled, this is a legitimate company, but your vacation may not be as wonderful as it sounds and there will most likely be added costs when you get there, like all the hotel taxes, possible transportation costs in the Bahamas. If you cancel within the 72 hours, good. But there may not be a way to cancel the package after that. You can extend the time frame in taking it (but the forums don't have very good things to say from people who tried that). Think about it -- all the *cruise* part about it is just being a ferry -- the day you board it (that's your first day), sleeping on it while it sails to the Bahamas (1st night), docked in the Bahama's (2nd day), and sleeping on it on its way back to Florida (2nd night). You'll hardly be on the ship. Sorry this is such a novel, but I hope this helps someone. These mistakes are very taxing.

A tip I learned.  Do not click the 'unsubscribe' (on computers) or 'opt out' number on phone calls.
That action alerts the offenders that your address or phone is valid . That increases the obnoxious activity. Plus,
companies sell phone / e-mail lists and the phishing mushrooms.  Best safety: if you don't recognize incoming #, don't answer. Friends and Valid Business will leave a message to call back. On the
credit card scams going on.... "We need you to call us back on a potential fraud ... etc, etc. etc.. on your card ending in #0000  (and yes, they have our ending numbers)  "Call us @  l###_###_###"  .

NEVER dial that number. Use the number on the back of your card. Your card company , or bank, will answer. If there is a problem, it gets solved. They also keep alerts of the scam calls and put a watch on your card for fraud charges. Valid banks never leave calls like that.

Called my cell twice this evening - rejected the first call, then they called immediately afterwards - both call recorded at 7:05pm. Second stopped ringing before I could reject it. My cell number is only available to 5 people so I never answer when an unknown number appears on my caller ID since I know it will be an ad or a telemarketer. Hate these calls!

The recorded message("Hi this is John from political opinions")was the SAME one I've got from at least three or four different numbers, always in different states,SAME recording. They recently started calling me again on my UNLISTED PRIVATE landline phone at the SAME TIME a horde of Indian telemarketers started calling me about "home security".One of them wouldn't even hang up after I did and tried to tie up my phone line!I am SO SICK of this!!!

What good does it do to be on the Do Not Call List?  The idiots still call and no one stops them!!!!!
There should be action taken against those I have reported as nuisances!

This number and ANY number that calls in should just be ignored. Why does a ringing phone annoy you people? Just let it ring and go about your business. If you don't recognize the incoming number then just don't answer the phone!

Prank Call
The "Do Not Call List" means nothing to the owner of this number. They call frequently and never speak a word. I just got a new phone number and have not made a call or given the number out yet but, I already am recieving calls like this. They have called so many times I had to turn the ringer off. The owner of 307-274-4209 belongs in jail!  99 years in the electric chair sounds fair to me.

Survey
Survey call on my cell phone.  I am on a do not  call registry for all my phones.  I am to the point I believe the  Do Not Call  registry is a joke.  I report all these type calls and both my husband and I still get them.  All political calls should be on a DO NOT CALL list also.

Survey
I've received multiple calls from this number. Every time I've picked up, said "Hello" and they hang up. I called back and get a message about "a survey which the time had expired". Gave me an option to opt-out from all future surveys BUT I've done this several times now yet they STILL keep calling  me!

I just received a call from this number on my cell but did not answer it. Thanks for the heads up so I don't try calling it back or answer it again.  I too am on the do not call list and when I went to the sight to report this number came across this number.  Looks like someone out there is using their identity too!!!  Pretty scary!!!  Taken from the Do Not Call sight:
"Scammers have been making phone calls claiming to represent the National Do Not Call Registry. The calls claim to provide an opportunity to sign up for the Registry. These calls are not coming from the Registry or the Federal Trade Commission, and you should not respond to these calls. To add your number to the Registry you can call 888-382-1222 from the phone you wish to register, or go click on ?Register a Phone Number? in the left column of this page. "
