I'm sorry to say that I was dumb enough to actually let this gal and guy (Mark) gain access to my computer. While I feel like a total dumbass for doing so, I'm posting here to tell you all to just hang up on them. My laptop is now useless and I will have to have it wiped and Windows 7 installed again. I got the same spiel about being from Microsoft and he was diligent about going through and showing me my "infected" files and how they were going to make my computer crash. He really tried to get me to spend $262+ on this "fix" and I refused. My impression was that the man and woman were working as a team, and there were very loud men talking in the back ground, like a call center. Who knows, could have been a local card game. The end result was that I didn't fall for the scam, but he trashed my computer and made it unusable. The really sad part is, I thought I was savvy enough not to fall for this crap, but here I am.

Took a call from a guy with an Indian accent trying to tell me he was with Windows and doing a "check up".  I interrupted him and told him to take his useless scam elsewhere and hung up on him...  What a moron.

just received a call from "Monte" regarding my windows computer.  I told him he was a freakin' scammer and to stop calling here.  Received calls in the past from these scammers also.

What a scam.  He got about one sentence out before I laughed at him and hung up.  

Ohh..... I just read through the other comments and I see this guy was running the windows scam.  Crap, I couldn't hear a word he said.  I thought he said something about how I "won a cruise with windows" which was an odd way to phrase it and I thought he meant a balcony stateroom, which sounded nice but a little fishy.  Oh, I get it now.....  He must have said something like a "what  want to do is fix Windows" or something like that.  Man, I couldn't understand a word this dude said.  Joke's on me I guess, but it's pretty funny.  They should teach these guys to aspirate their consonants before calling America.

Some dude who's not from around these parts was trying to scam me with some kind of cruise. No thanks. Who falls for this stuff anyway?  BTW, this guy's voice was hilarious, well worth answering the call just to hear it.

Same -.- he told me if I don't follow his "instructions" that there was a high possibility that my computer would crash. Uhm hello "think I'm stupid?" #Stupid

Just received a call from 309-474-0863.  Did not pick up.  Caller ID only states Varna IL with the #.

The call you got was from an Indian scammer, calling about how you have viruses and warnings on your computer.  That is a scam going around.  I have received two of those calls. The best thing you can do is to not give out any personal information and to just hang up.

I got a call from this number this afternoon at 1:08.  The caller ID read 12022040484 as the name of the caller.  When I answered, it was just dead air.

Unfortunately, you were another one who received a call fro the raghead computer scammers, who try to cheat decent folks, in order to feed their camels.

Yeah got a phone call today some a***ole from India. I couldn't understand s***. Something about my computer and windows. I was like oh hell no and hung up. Oh yeah that # is 1-309-474-0863 from Illinois. What a dick.

Called our business on one of the roll over lines. They hung up without saying anything.

He called and I listened. We need to find out who this is.

Same thing.  After he told me to push a sequence of keys he asked what I saw on the screen.  I detailed the visual of his mother being caught in a compromising position with some farm animals.  He then hung up.  I will usually string them along a little longer but I just don't have the time tonight.

Losers keep calling. Don't answer if I don't know the number and there isn't a name on caller ID. Comes across "Out of Area" don't leave a message, losers just tie up my phone number (have a family member who needs access to 911 readily available!) Hope these losers don't cost him his life! Quit calling jerks.

Don't even answer the call. Ignore the call and eventually they will stop calling.

I got this same middle eastern man just a few minutes ago.  Like everyone else he's telling me I have windows and a computer problem.  I told him several times this is a private number and to take my number off his list.  I told him never to call again and that I was reporting, which is what I just did.

Called me with same scam and I had some fun  told him that it was impossible as I had gotten  same call a month ago and they fixed the problem for $199  guess what he said oh no we have to fix it right now. He fix it and only cost me $169 what a joke they never give up

This is definitely a SCAM....don't let them have any type of access to information about your computer. This is not the first call of this nature...Just be educated and tell them to take your number off their list and hang up.

This has happened to me several times... I just ask for their supervisor and they hang up.

Went on about how he got alerts about viruses on my computer and he was going to help me fix them, knew it was a scam from the start so I played along til I asked if he would like to speak to our IT Dept to which he responded "no thank you have a good day" heavy accent, loser. Just feel so bad if someone falls for this...

Phone call today 5/27/14 from I guy with and Indian accent wanting to help with technical support for my windows software regarding the FBI virus.  I told him my husband worked with computers and he would fix it.  He then hung up.

I receive these calls at least 3 times a month. I am not one to mess with. I have asked them, if they know so much about my computer, then what windows do I have, they usually just hang up. Today I received the same call, this time a female indian woman. She threatened me and told me that something would happen to my computer tomorrow morning...and then hung up. I reported them to the FCC and if they call me again..all hell will break lose! I'm not stupid to fall for scams! Several other times I got these calls, I told them I didn't have a computer and they would hang up.
