Same exact thing happened to me!  Only difference was that when the caller read off my home address, I told her that I hadn't lived there for YEARS cause my ex-husband got the house in my divorce then I pretended to start crying.  The caller apologized and said she would take me off her call list.  We'll see....I had been getting calls DAILY from these peckerheads.

They called 3 times in a row while I was on the other line with someone else. A couple hours later I answered when they called again. But I had already googled the number.. so i answered with John and Steve's Adult video warehouse. They hung up and haven't called back lol

B, I just saw your post. If your company is a real then your staff needs to know about better customer service. Just beause I don't see her face or whatever reason she act like a mad B****? Also there were a time in the past your staff told me that our number will be taking off from your list. It is abvious that our number is still exsiting in your list. That's why I asked the lady on the phone today where did you get this number...

We are getting phone call from this number and sometimes nobody there, or sometimes they ask for Cindy. My caller ID says "Universal Media". Until today I was nice enough to say there is no Cindy then they will say "Sorry, Thank you". But Today, I asked her "Where did you get this number? We don'e have Cindy live here." reply from this lady was "That's all you have to say!" Click!!
Whoever this "Cindy" must be prior owner of our number and has her names everywhere,,,,

this isnt a scam... I actually work for them. When you sign up for a credit card you give your phone number and address..... and they can sell the information to list brokers..... and list brokers use them to telemarket.  

we actually do give prizes out and its not a bad company.   we are located at 105 Jefferson street in Bloomington, IL.

It seems that this is probably just one of those information things that puts your address and name onto websites so people can find your address and phone number. I got a call from these guys and was confused and gave them information, but they did not ask for a card number or anything more specific than my age (but not my birthdate). Afterward I felt weird about it and called back. They hung up on me, and I called back about 4 more times before someone answered and I asked to have my name put on a do not call list, so hopefully that works out.  I will have to google search myself later to see whether or not my information has been put anywhere and hopefully I can get rid of it.

My mother does not live in Illinois but kept recieving calls from this number(309)829-7494. I tried calling it and got no answer. After that I decided it was probably a scam, and found this! Thanks everyone!!

they demanded to talk to me. i did not give my name at first. but they would not talk unless they got 'me' on the phone. i said they reached the right person, then the lady on the phone told me i won something and it was my lucky day. it sounded like bu***hit and i hung up.

I got one from them today...my Spartans and I march for Illinois immediately.

We use voice.google.com a free phone from google that forwards to our privet cell phone and we do not ever give out our real cell number to anyone. We always give out our google phone number - When its time to loose someone "forever" we use the blocking button that is built into the online google number and the unwanted caller hears the message. "This number has been disconnected and hangs up on them. hahahahaha lol. Get through that puke faces.    I just blocked these idiots permanently 309 829-7494. I triple double dare these idiots to try and call again.   lol   Every person gets one chance to call me if they mess up they are permanently BLOCKED.
www.voicegoogle.com is a free phone for any person on the planet needing a phone and it works wonderful. All your calls are forwarded to you and also has a wonderful voice mail built within it and all blocked calls never get through....  Use it people, the phones have been way to long a free for all.

called my phone when i answered no one said anything andf calledc right back when hung up and still never said a word. kind of figured it was a scam

Exact same thing just happened to me.

I just received a phone call from this number and it was very unsettling to say the least. The woman who called was very forward in wanting the credit card I used most often and my home address. I instantly asked who she and the company was affiliated with. She could not give me a straight answer. I asked her to tell me which major credit cards they were affiliated with - she said she needed to know which credit card I used most etc. I responded by telling her I would not divulge any of my personal information, including my home address until I knew how she got my number etc. She spouted off a bunch of banks and credit cards. She asked me for my address once more and I asked her to repeat what she had on file back to me and then I would let her know if it was correct or not - she refused to do so. She quickly said to disregard this phone call and hung up on me. I contacted the FTC and placed a complaint on this number. Please do the same if you ever receive a call from this number (309-829-7494)

Janurary 5 2011 she called me and the same thing she had my adress just not the apt number and the only thing she asked was out of all the cridit cards I have witch do I enjoy having the most and she named off a bunch of card names I don't even have any cridit cards so that's unusal she said that iim a finalist and I allready won 5 magazines or something then after it all she just kinda hung up on me so I'm not worried but they had all my info all ready so kinda weird

We had the exact same thing happen to us. And we dont even live near Illinois they said our bank gave them our address. We did not confirm and i was checking online as she was on the phone. This is a SCAM. My Bank said they know nothing about it.

They call everyday also using the number 888-637-2967. No one is there when you answer. Both numbers come from the same place.

Call most every day & say nothing. Now I hit ignore on my cell.

Trishia called October 4, 2010, from The Publisher's Headquarters. Said my credit card company gave her my information to participate in a sweepstakes for a chance to win $25K, a car and don't remember what else. I asked which credit card and she said that in order to participate, I must have at least one of the major credit cards, such as VISA or Master Card, then immediately started reading an address.  I interrupted and said didn't fell comfortable confirming or not any information about me because of all the things happening today. She said understood my skepticism but they were a recognized company at Bloomington, IL. I said, well, let me search for more information about this company and this sweepstake and "you might want to call me back later". She said this was fine and hung up. This was strange; in the background I could hear other people talking; like an office environment. Anyway, she hasn't called back and I don't trust this call.

It's a SCAM. They called and told me they're from publisher's headquarters. First thing i did was search on google to find scam as my top result.  They rotate between numbers.

Mine also said the "mother company" was CommercialReaders.com.
