Received call from this number. My boyfriend asked them to leave message and the lady refused. Don't know who or why they called.

DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE  NUMBER SO I DID NOT ANSWER. THEY LEFT NO MESSAGE...

on may 4,2013    from phone # 310-241-0165 stated i had won a vehicle ask me my  age and hung up i smell a rat what,s up ??????

I got the same call today(10April2013) for the 1st time.The person speaking barely spoke English, but she told me the same thing that others before have reported.  Apparently, I am a "finalist" in some sweepstakes that I "automatically entered" since I used my credit card.  She tried to verify my age, and address.  She said I won a lady's diamond watch, and if I wanted it for myself or my wife. I said, "Uhm...let me think"  In her broken English, she asked what was my occupation, I replied, "Special Investigative Agent with the Department of Defense", then all I heard was <click>.  I tried calling back, but got an automated reply that the number is not in service.  Tried calling back about 10 min later, and it just rang and rang and rang, and rang some more.  No way to leave a message, or to tell that bozo not to call anymore.

I just received a call and the lady stated she was from Cali and calling from Publishers, I did not give her the opportunity to finish when I stated I do not buy magazines and I was abruptly disconnected.  I called her back to find out how she got my number and my first name and she did not pick up the phone.  She had my name and used my cell phone which I find odd.

I just ordered magazines online, and now they're calling me.  But I never gave a phone number

The lady said she was from Publisher's and I had won something. She verified my address and said my credit card company had submitted my name. I did not give out any personal information and I don't know how they got my unlisted telephone number.

They are calling asking for me to verify my address.

Very rude person called me without identifiying the company name she s calling me from first. She insisted on verifying my name first before continuing the conversation. When I insisted for the company name she hang up.  I got her first name only (Crystal) and the name of the company sounded something like SCI (I heard this name when I called back).

This is definitely suspicious and furthermore I am concerned that this person had my new cell number!

They called me a few weeks ago and said I won a trip or something and said that I was entered by my debit or credit card. (He knew my name)  He asked if I had a mastercard or visa and I told him I have those cards. He said, "ok then that is how you were entered." I informed him at that time that he was calling a personal cell phone number and it was illegal to call me. He said rudely,"have a nice day." Then he hung up. I get calls from them weekly now, but I never get a chance to answer. It is alway busy when I try to call back.

BTW, for those who need to know cuz they've been called repeatedly, make sure that you keep track 'when' you're beeing called, the number and what the i.d. lists the name as, and that if you DO talk to anyone and have made a request that your name has been removed but they call back still, you are in the full right to inform them that you DO have their number (make sure before this you ask them for the name of the person you're speaking with) and if they call you again you will turn the information over to the authorities. aka police. This usually stops telemarketers, or discourages scammers from calling you again.

Checked my caller ID and someone from Hearst Inc. aparantly called w/ the # 1-310-931-2990. Since i  dont know the company I googled it, aparantly its a California # Thats on lots of different sites like this one. Everyone's pretty much saying the same thing; that these people dont leave messages. Or that it IS a scam. At this point I'm not going to answer them if they call back, and I suggest others be careful too.

Don't answer. It's not enough that they call the house phone, now they call my cell phone?!! I am careful not to sign up for give aways etc but they still manage to get my info. A friend sent me a gift of a 1 yr subcription to a magazine...wonder if thats how they got it. My home phone is supposed to be a private number. Ha! They called last month, I refused to order & requested my name be removed from their list & now they are calling again. I listed their caller I.D. name as "Don'tanswer Scam" so I don't automatically pick up. If anyone knows how to really get a name off telemarketers list, PLEASE, pass the info :).

this number called for the first time today and i was curious as to whom it was.  i would like to know which cc is giving out our info.

they said they were from "publisher's" and they received my name from my credit card or finance company( but not which one).I might win a prize from a long list of prizes. However, I needed to confirm some information. I smell a rat!!!!

They called 4 times on the same day on my cell phone. (I"ve never received solicitation calls on my cell phone, of which the phone number has only been given to close friends, family, and those who need it.)  They never answered.  However, the fourth time they said it was "publishers," and I told them to remove my number from their mailing list, and they said okay.

I got a call from this number on my cell phone, when I called the numer back to see who it was, it was busy. I tried it again later and it was still busy.

I called it back after a hang up, and they asked me for my number... and I said what do you want my number for, you obviously already have it!

And she HUNG UP ON ME.

Received a call on 4/7/08 from 310-241-0165 ( Publishers). Congratulations I am a finalist in a dream maker contest. Apparently entered by my credit card. They asked for my age and told me my address. Never asked for my CC#. Offered me some magazines, I declined, said I won a free watch.

Reverse searched the number to a Fawn Martin 305 W 14th St, San Pedro, CA

They seem to call my cell phone every few days, I answered once and a lady went on for a long time about how I won something or was going to win something, I don't have a credit card, and only share the number with friends so i'm curious how I got on the list.

This # keeps calling me SEVERAL times aday & will not stop...
Of course I am at work and cant answer so later in the day I have tried to call them back on a land line from a buisness and the freakin thing is busy... Who in the crap are they?

This is yet another number that calls my home . I don't answer #'s that I don't know . So I did yet ANOTHER search on ANOTHER number . And found others are having the same problem as I am . Getting calls from Co.'s that we don't need to or WANT to !

I just got a call from this number also on my cell phone. They didn't leave a message or anything so I tried to call back a few times and it was busy. I did a reverse look up and it said San Pedro, ca I think.

I have gotten several calls from this number this past week. When I called it back yesterday it just rang and rang with no response. Then they called back. I didn't answer to see if they would leave a voice mail. Now that I know what the number is I won't answer it. Eventually they would stop calling me. I hope.
