I received a call stating I had entered in a drawing for 25,000 I indeed did enter one in the previous months. But I then realized it sounded to good to be true. She stated I would receive free magazines with the help of one at 3.95 a week but would be billed for a month at 19.95. For 48 months and that I would receive a free watch in the mail. The odd thing is I was never asked credit card information or anything besides my job. Me being in the military may have scared them off but obviously this must be a scam seeing as its the same number multiple people have received this same call from. But I never gave out any credit card info so they could bill me all they like but I will not pay for anything.

I got a call from Hearst Inc phone number 310-831-1152, the woman told me I was going to be entered into a 25,000 sweepstake, I told her to let me stop you here I've been scammed before and before I could say anything else she got a horrible attitude and started being very unprofessional with how she was coming at me I ended up cussing her out in the long run and hanging up. Wow nice job, lets go into work today call people and be b*****s. Sorry excuse for a company....

Has any body made any recent online purchases,? Or bought anything over the tv.. In the prior weeks... I know that when I bought proactive my card started getting scammed. And I recently purchased "bacon bowls" and now I'm getting these marketers calling .. I' wonder if they are connected

I got a call from this number and when I answer it they hang up. I believe this is the same number that has called me and hung up several times.  Drive me nuts.

I received the exact same call but from 310-540-8955.  When I asked for a company phone number, she referred me to my caller ID.  When I asked her to name a major credit card company or financial institution that passed along private client information, she couldn't answer my question.  In the end, she called me a f**n B and hung up on me.   SCORE!!!!

I am so fed up with these people. They call me at LEAST 10 times a day, I usually ignore it (as for me, the number comes up as "Private"), but after 3 days of being called over and over again, I finally decided to just pick it up. First time, it was a guy, telling me I had won $25,000, then proceeded to ask for my date of birth. Obviously, it's a scam, because I never entered anything, so I hung up, hoping he'd get the picture.

Sure enough, they must be very dense, or just very desperate, but they kept on calling. Today, it's been a few days since I picked up, and they've called over 20 times since, so I picked up again, and this time it was a really gross sounding woman, telling me the exact same thing. I hung up on her again.

If they call one more time I'm gonna flip at them. They're driving me nuts.
Seriously, get a life. How pathetic.

That California number has called several times now. First it was a Guy who seemed to know hardly any details. He was promising me a high dollar gold watch with a 2 year warranty.  Then promised 6 free magazines but told me further into the call I have to pay for them so I refused.

The second time The callers name was Breanna.  She knew my name, address and evidentally my cell number.   She told me all the same things as the first Guy about the watch I never received and the mail about a sweepstakes I'm entered by selection for.   She seemed very flirty asking my age, what I do for work,  and even how much I make either monthly or yearly.  I was even promissed a place to stay with her in California if I ever wanted to visit that state.  I proceeded to follow along with the small talk for entertainment and see how far these people would take their scam.   All in through I gave b***s*** information and when the billing part began I was presistant as to how these free magazines are just shy of 20 bucks per month.   Told her manager I didnt even have a credit card or checks and she promised to call again later.......

My question is, has anyone tried reporting this scam to any sort of media to gain possibly national attention?

HOW ARE YOU?  FINE I ANSWERED, AND YOU?  FINE SHE REPLIED..BECAUSE OF YOU HAVING AN EXCELLENT CREDIT CARD PAYMENT HISTORY THEY SUBMITTED YOUR NAME IN A DRAWING.... YOU JUST WON $100,00.00 ...I REPLIED , OH!!!  REALLY? WHO, AND WHEN DO I GET THE CHECK IN THE MAIL.?..SHE THEN SAID OH!, NO! YOU QUALIFY FOR A $25,000.00 AWARD FIRST..I THEN ASKED , REALLY, AND WHAT MUST I DO DO COLLECT THAT?...SHE REPLIED ..ACCEPT  BY MARCH 31ST...AND WHAT MUST I DO TO ACCEPT, I ASKED BY MARCH 31ST???  SHE BEGAN HER PITCH, I INTERRUPTED AND ASKED, OKAY WHO HANGS UP FIRST?  YOU OR ME???? SHE HUNG UP....SO SAD ...I HOPE NO PERSON GIVES OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THESE PARASITES..PLAY WITH THEM ...HAVE SOME FUN PEOPLE!!!!  REPORT TO PROPER AUTHORITIES.......I FEEL TERRIBLE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY IN NEED OF FINANCIAL HELP AND MAY THINK SOMETHING GOOD HAS FINALLY COME THEIR WAY....THESE COMPANY'S MUST BE SHUT DOWN .........

I am furious with this hoax. I don't know how and they had my address somehow.  We should get all of our money back, if not, we report to banks and police to track down the purchase item's location. The guy that called, last name is Selzer told me all the same information. gave me another number 1(853)213-8952. Soon after, he transferred me to a lady named Danielle. I don't suppose those are their real names. Hope everyone can get refunded or find out who took our hard-work money.

I got the same call asked me my age and if i have a credit card! I said yes and told her it was a Visa but did not give her any useful information. She had my address and then she hung up on me???

I received a call on my work line (actually, not even mine a co-workers who forwarded the call to me). The woman said I had been entered into a $25,000.00 Sweepstakes and that everything was based on age and income level. Then she proceeded to ask me for my year of birth. I said "thanks" and hung up.

i received the same call from treasure cove readers , but the number was listed as International C 1-321-872-3220. They said they wanted to lower my magazine subscription rate but I said I had not ordered any magazines, especially at $69 a month. They would not give any info as to what magazines or even what co I was supposed to have ordered from. They then gave me a bogus customer service # 866-504-9245 which just makes buzzing noise.

I just had the same exact phone call....they also had my address and asked my age....They told me they were sending me out a watch and then proceeded with the magazine pitch....I asked for a phone number to call them back at so I could verify this was legit....I was then hung up on....I contacted the credit card company, bank, publishers, and the fraud agency and this was definitely a scam of some sort, or a tele marketing company trying to sell subscribtions....I was told if you receive anything in the mail, make a copy of the letter and return address and then return to sender stating cancel unauthorized....They said one will often receive an invoice in the mail shortly after receiving the call....I now have a number from your post that I will keep on file just in case....Thank you for posting.

I received a phone call, I'm still getting used to my phone so I don't know how to check if it was this number or not but they said I had been entered into a Publishers $25000 draw for being a valued customer. When I asked what I had purchased they said I had made a purchase with EITHER a Visa or a Mastercard- but couldn't tell me which. They asked for my year of birth and what year I graduated (specifying high school when I asked to be more specific). I was beginning to think this was a scam since I had never heard of this- and generally credit card companies aren't allowed to give out personal information- let alone enter their customers into draws, and then the person hung up. I immediately researched and came up to forums like this- which the reported examples appear to be very similar to mine

I've received two calls from this number today.  I pick up on the first ring and hear a "click" as they hang-up.  Return calls to the number give a busy signal.

I received a call from this number but didn't answer in time.  They didn't leave a message and when I tried to call back from a land line I just got a busy signal.

I just received a call from  310-241-0523 from a b***h. She told me that I've won $25,000 from a credit card company and congradulations! I asked which company, she said she does not know. But she knows my name and address. Then she wanted to confirm my mailing address, I said "no ,that's not my address". The b***h hang up quickly.

So NEVER NEVER confirm anything!

I answered but would not confirm who i was - he said he was from "publisher's Headquarters". I asked what the call was about, and he kept asking if I was "my name". I asked if I could take a message and he said no, and hung up.

I got a call on my cell phone.  She knew my name.  She told me she was with Publishers something-er-other and that my bank had entered me in a sweepstakes and that they had to notify all the winners.  She asked me to verify my address.  I asked a couple of questions before she hung up.  I was expecting her to ask me to 'verify' my bank account number.

Did any of you order shoe inserts from a company called WalkFit? Seems strange to me that I order a product from WalkFit, have trouble with the company and the order. I had to fight with them to take back some vitamins I didn't want. Now, I get calls from this 310-241-0523 and they are same area of the country as WalkFit. These people at the 310 number already know my name and my phone number. They tell me my credit card company entered me in some kind of contest.

Is it coincidence or not?

I am on do not call list so when I do get these )(*&'s I stay on phone, give them grief, and ask them lots of Q's.

this is "publisher's HQ's" they want to verify address to send you "free" magazines.   Some kinda scam.

I asked if they check do not call list, they said they did.  I asked how i got called "I don't know".  Lame.  Evasive.

My kid sister has been getting calls from this number.  Luckily she told me about it, and being the kind person that i am, i decided to call the number back for her.  at first my sis was telling me that everytime she calls the number back, it just rings busy...i'm guessing like everyone else, but i thought i would still try.  so i call and someone actually picks up.  the person says, did you just get a call? are you such and such?  I said no, i'm not such and such and got a call about a week ago and i'm just returning the call.  she asked well, what's your name?  so i gave her my name and she said well that's my name too.  i asked what is this call about, and every rudely and quickly she said it's just a courtesy call.  and i asked what was it about?  and she didn't want to tell me, so i kept enforcing her to answer.  she then said sweepstakes call, but i couldn't understand her b/c she was talking to fast.  so then she decides to say, what you don't understand me?  you don't understand english, or what?  gosh.  i said no, i can't understand you with your squeaky voice.  she then said, well you sound white, why can't you understand me?  i then simply replied, no i don't understand a b*tch like you and hung up.

I got a call from this number and the number 310-370-9786.  I hung up on them the first time and the second time when I told them to stop calling, they hung up on me.  I would really like to know how they got my cell phone number...

I got a call from th number 310-370-9781 not too long ago but I was at work so I couldn't answer, when I called back I kept getting a busy signal.  I just got a call today from the same number and she told me I had been entered to win prizes and trips, I asked the girl's name and why have I never heard of them before and all she could do was say "um...well we're publishers headquarters...".  I said thank you and hung up.  I then called back from my house phone and they answered the phone publishers headquarters so being curious I called back again from a blocked number and got no answer...so I don't know but it's probably some type of scam.

I just got a call from this number and I called right back and got a busy signal. I had received a call from them before and they told me all kind of things that I won for free they knew my address etc. I advised natasha the girl I was speaking with to remove me from the list. I also told her that it was funny that her name is so cose to mine she started laughing and said that her mom gave her the name and kept talking. so I told her again remove me from what ever call list it was and asked her for her name one more time she said tanya... and kept talking then again I said no Im not interested and I told her I appreciate the call and know she is just doing her job and I would like to speak to her manager to remove me from the lost but give her a compliment and I asked her name again and she said tausha, I said I thought your name was natasha,tanya,tausha she then said it was maria but she goes by natasha that is when I told her that it is a crime to falsley potray herself as someone else she apologized and the call was suddenly disc. about three minutes later I got the same call again where the lady apologized for the phone disc sd that she was just speaking with me and her name was samatha..... this my people is a scam, these people are trying to scam everyone they speak with....l

slf I received a call from nearly the same number 520-733-5728 from Hearst.  I am afraid it is a scam I will alert my bank of any charges. I hope it's not to late.
