You can sit there a few more years wondering when the calls will quit, or you can take action as I advised here in April.

This Palisades Collection with this 310-409-2432 is relentless on calling my home about someone with the same last name as mine's debt. Since you can't get a "person" it just goes on and on and on. This has been going on for a # of years....I'm in my mid 70's and wonder if I will ever get any relief from these a-- holes before I die. Wish they would get a life and make sure they know what they are doing before they call on people like me... By the way I have a 870 something credit rating!! Cute eh?

Chris from Palisades just called trying to collect on an 8 year old debt. I told him the SOL for California is 4 years and that SOL has expired. He told me it doesn't matter and they will continue to try to collect. I have a great Attorney, I pray they keep trying to collect.

called me and left way too much information about someone else's debt

Palisades reps are not going to read your complaint here, nor be able to magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments.
To a ''not me'' case I always recommend putting the agency on notice, just as you would if you were the target and the debt claim was invalid. Send a cease-comm notice via USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain how to draft one. This will set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their peril.

M and King: The collector reps cannot legally discuss an account with anyone but the alleged debtor or his attorney. If the target is you, reciting your SSN does not reveal anything the agency does not already possess. If SSN is refused, many times a rep will try matching you by address or birthdate. You are of course not required to trust the rep or cooperate on the phone.

Palisades is the correct spelling of this collection front end of debt buyer Asta Funding.

It's infrequent, but I've seen other reports of junk debt collectors working accounts dating to the Reagan administration. Only two states have a Staute of Repose which would render the activity illegal. In theory, absent a court discharge, you could get a perfectly legal skip trace call regarding the defaulted loan on your great-grampy's Lincoln Roadster.
A state Statute of Limitations provides an easy affirmative defense if a person is sued for sufficiently aged debt. The mere threat of that suit from a collector becomes an FDCPA violation.

A collection call for a THIRTY year old debt?
That has to be a record. I wonder if a debt that old is actually legally collectable anyone in the US.

Pallisaides calls EVERY day to attempt to collect on a 30 year old debt. They are now calling with the 310-409-2432 number.

This psychopath was relentless in trying to obtain my social security number. They should have the balls to come door to door.
