Just dead air. It keeps calling back and when I pick up, dead air. It appears to be a machine that does not recognize that it has connected to a person and hangs up.  Unfortunatly, there are those who give companies business when contacted this way otherwise they would not do it.

Several call received from them, I have asked each time that I would like to be removed and told them not to call again.  I received two phone calls today within an hour.  When I asked to be removed, they hang up the phone before I could finish the sentence.  I found out that they are working with San Mateo Carpet Care, an "affiliate" of theirs.

These people are rude, will not stop, what can be done?

Got the call today. But it was with 000-000-0000. Being an old hacker I emediately decided to play with them. I acted as much as a real idiot customer would and made an appointment for the new house across the street from mine that is for sale but gave them my number as a contact. The ascersion of another poster here that it is probably a referal services is probably correct. That said, when the cleaners arrive I will have a real point of contact (company/phone/address) to begin the investigation upstream. When I find out who asked them for the commission on the referal I will post it here so you can all sue them for $500 per call (its ilegal to use an automated dialer to call your house) and so that when you report them you have someone to report for the DNC list.

I got a call from 949-614-0045 today and of course the recording was on my machine - so there is no way to call them back to stop them from calling me again. But it sounds like it will be a really "fun" experience if I am able to talk to them...

i got a call from the number (949)614-0045 and heard the recorded message about carpet cleaning.  When i pressed 1 and politely asked the girl where they got my number, she replied "from a bathroom wall", I asked her if she meant to tell me that she found my number on a bathroom wall and decided to offer me carpet cleaning services to which she replied, "well if your number is on a bathroom wall, you must be doing something right." i asked to speak to her supervisor and she hung up.  is there seriously nothing that can be done?

I love this website.  Why can't we input certain telephone numbers like (310) 421-9121 into our own phone that would block phone calls from that telephone number.  It would be sort of like a spam folder for phone calls.

Write to the Attorney Generals office and the FTC, they are listed in the phone book, write to your congessman or better yet call Michael Finney on 7 on your side.. if enough of you complain , maybe we can make them pay for our invasion of privacy.

Steve, You have done a terrific job..  These people are using my name to solicit business to callers on the National no call list, when trying to find there number, they end up calling me, since I am listed in the phone directory, Although I do not clean carpets (Only Sell),they have me confused with Best Carpet cleaning., I once typed in there 888 279-6050 number in yahoo search and came up with 65 alia names & business ranging from carpet cleaning restoration, to plumbing services...  I have written to the FTC and to the Attorney generals office (California)with no results, I like many of your replys have called them numerous times and they simply don't care..,   I think if enough of you compain about there illigal practice, Maybe the FTC & the California Attorney General office will wake up. p.s. By the way? I've been in business 23 years and this is the first time anything like this has happen to me. (Just found this website 8/11/07) Warren

I went throught the rigamarole and pressed one....and when I asked what their number umber was then this a-hole hung up. I then rung the useless ATT nuisance call
thing at 800-348-8727 and they basically said to call the Feds.....but after
reading everyone's woeful notes it is clear that there is little that can be done about
this....short of labelling Alisson's Carpet Cleaning a terrorist group and calling
in the FBI....although I don't trust any of them after getting it all wrong in Iraq.
I guess Allison is just some chick that I will just have to learn to live with.....
like so many of life's frustrations and aggravations.....

ALISON CARPET CLEANING.  SAME AS ALL YOUR OTHER CORRESPONDENTS, AND PROBABLY TEN CALLS SINCE MAY.  I DO NOT HAVE CALLER ID, BUT I DO HAVE A "ZAPPER", AND THE RESULT OF THIS SEEMS TO BE THAT PRESSING 1 OR 8 IS DEAD AIR.  I SUSPECT THE ZAPPER HAS ALREADY CUT THEM OFF.  STILL, IT'S THE RECEIVING CALLS THAT ARE THE OBVIOUS NUISANCE.  CULVER CITY, CALIF

I got a call from "Allison" as well.
This time, it was on my voice mail, but I have gotten
past calls while I was home.

My story is about the same as the others here. I pressed "1"
to speak with an operator. I asked why I was being called, when
I have been on the "Do Not Call" list since its inception (I did not
actually use the word "inception" -- too many syllables for them!).
Of course, I was hung up on.

I  have never used "Option 8" to be unsubscribed from their list.
"Why?".
Because I have heard of past scams that connect you to a toll number that costs DOLLARS per second if you authorize it. I didn't want to take that chance.  Also, I have already done all that *should* have been necessary to keep their call from coming into my home when I registered with the DNC List.

I think its time to set up some "appointments" for them  ;-)

I have recieved at least 10 calls since March from a carpet cleaning company.  "Hi, this is Allison..."  I've pressed "8" to be removed from the list, it stops for a while and then starts up again.  I finally pressed "1" to talk to a person and inquired about the company and asked why they kept calling me when I asekd them not to.  They rudely hung up on me.  I'd llike to ask if:  donotcall.gov is the only option for reporting these people?  What else can be done?

I have a solution!

Press "1". Find a burned-out rf closed business address and order a complicated and expensive carpet cleaning service for it under an assumed (fake) name. Make them take a lot of time trying to figure it out. Make them pay.

Here we go again. This time got person who when I politely asked if he could remove me from the auto dial list (seems like a fair request), muttered something unintelligible, grunted and groaned a bit, and then hung up on me. Sounded very uneducated, as you might expect from a carpet cleaner that does business this way.  Bet this guy wishes that he had followed through with his schooling.  And if Alison Carpet Cleaning?s principal happens to read this, here is a little simple math problem for you: Annoying phone solicitations + rude behavior when asked to be removed from list = bad will with consumer. If you have problem with this, check with the closest 6 year old.

I have received several unsolicited marketing calls from 310-421-9121.  They claim to be a carpet cleaning service.  It's a recorded message with a prompt to speak with a live person.  Our number is on the do no call list.  This makes me angry.  Can you stop them?

Just got a call a few minutes ago (June 2, 2007).  I said hello, but no one replied.  Probably a predictive dialer.  Aren't these illegal?  Caller ID had a number, but no name, just "Out of Area".

I've received several calls from this number. I'm not sure when they started, maybe in March '07? The first round of calls were a recorded voice telling me I was "pre-approved for a mortgage". I finally listened all the way through the message to hear the option to be removed from their call list. I had to do it twice before the calls finally stopped. Then today I received another call from them, this time it was a pre-recorded message about health care. Again, I "removed" myself from their call list, and I plan on reporting them today.

I got a call, and when I pressed 1 to speak to a live agent, I asked what company was this, and they hung up.  I tried calling back spoofed number, and just dead air.  So I googled it and found this site.  I called back the 888 number above, and they kept hanging up on me too when pressed for company name, etc.  Then when I asked why they were calling me when I was on the donotcall list they hung up.  I kept calling back to ask them why they kept hanging up on me.  (*It's there money they're throwing away, they pay for the call)

Finally talked to someone and they said the supervisor asked for my number so they could take it off the list.  I told her it's already on the do not call list, and then told her they were stupid to keep hanging up on me since they are paying for the call.

I also reported them to donotcall.gov  EVERYONE REPORT THEM.

I have received several calls from this company as well.
Today, I checked caller ID and didn't bother to answer.
I have asked them to remove me from their list as well, but they keep calling.
I posted a complaint on donotcall.gov

I have done some investigating and I?ve compiled all the info I have come up with. This is as of 5/19/2007. I?m posting this on all the sites that are related to this company.

Company Names They Use: AAA Carpet Care, Allison Carpet Care, Best Carpet Cleaners, Best Carpet Care, On-Time Carpet Cleaning, Pro-Carpet Cleaning and Infinity Carpet Care.

How They Operate: They are probably a carpet-cleaning referral service and they earn commissions by finding clients and then referring a local carpet cleaner to their home. Likely, they have a VOIP service which allows them to spoof a number different from their own so the number that pops up on your caller-ID is not really their number and it?s useless to call back that number.

Current Phone Numbers: 888-279-6049, 888-279-6050, 888-279-6051, 888-279-6052, 888-279-6053, 888-279-6054, 888-279-6055, 888-279-6056, 888-279-6057, 888-279-6058, and 888-279-6059

Old Phone Numbers: 800-376-1983

Spoof Phone Numbers: 213-221-1021, 310-388-8021, 310-421-9121, 562-433-3521, 650-898-0321 (There are probably more, but this is all I could find)

Possible Addresses (These may be fake like the spoof phone numbers): 14709 Vanowen
Van Nuys, CA 91405; 6803 Cedros Ave, Van Nuys, CA 91405; 1400 Huntington Drive South Pasadena, CA 91030; There are numerous more based on web searches of their 888 numbers.

Probable Web Site: http://www.procarpetcleaning.org/home.nxg

Also, go to http://local.yahoo.com/ and do a search for 888-279-6049 in zip 91405 and see how many different locations this number refers to. You get results with their other numbers, too.

Recorded message from "Alison's Carpet Cleaning".  With the first call (3/14/07) I spoke to a polite person and requested to be removed from their list.  I got a second call (3/23/07) and spoke with a person at "Best Carpet" who was rude and hung up on me.  The third call (4/28/07) I pressed the option number to be removed from their list.  I just received the fourth call (5/12/07) and reported them on donotcall.gov since my number has been on that list for a year.  Don't wait until the fourth call like I did.  Report them with the first call.
