I work for this company (Donor Services) and they are scum.  They treat their employees poorly, pay no attention to morale, and bend the law daily.

Please don't yell at us.  Ask to speak to a supervisor and yell at them.

The economy is trash right now and DSG pays well... even if it is unethical work.

Here is your answer. The calls you receive are dialed through what's called an automated dialer. The "callers" do not know if you are answering the phone or if its a machine until the hear a beep in their ear. Only then can the "caller" tell the computer that you are not home and and he machine picked up. Because the callers are not calling from but on behalf of company's or organizations, callers are instructed to not leave messages. Callers working an outbound center have no control over who is called, what time they are called or how often you are called. I would encourage those who have complained to be happy these individuals are still emotes as this type of job are the ones slowly being shipped over seas.
Try putting yourself in the callers position who is simply doing their job, that includes having people yell at them, call them names, loudly slam the phone and curse at them.

I keep getting calls from this company. I have told them numerous times to stop calling; they refused. Get it through your thick skulls, I DO NOT DONATE OVER THE PHONE! As a matter of fact any charity that uses this company to call me, I contact that charity and tell them they will never receive another dime from me because of the phone calls.

I will only donate when I can, I am  not going to be harassed into donating. It called charity because a person gives what they can; but it becomes a business when third party telemarketers get involved and take a percentage of whatever money they get from the donation. This is exactly why I don't donate over the phone nor do I donate to charities that use third party telemarketers.

In most cases, because of FTC regulations, they are not allowed to leave a message. If you are receiving calls from this company, it is because you are a supporter of an organization that has contracted them to contact you.

If you are home when the call comes in, pick up the phone. In most cases, you will find the callers to be polite and friendly. If you decide that you no longer wish to support the organization they are calling you about, politely ask them to remove you from the telephone contact list.

If you simply get on the phone and say something like "He's not here" and hang up, they will call back.

If you don't answer the phone, they will call back.

If you answer the phone and pretend you speak Spanish or some other language, you may be surprised to find the caller is multilingual.

Try not to yell and scream at the caller. Sure, you've been getting these calls for weeks, and it's getting annoying. Still, these people are simply doing a job, in an economy where in some states, more than 10% are unemployed. Also remember, they are calling you about a charity that at least at one point, you felt was worthy of your support.

They are bound by LAW to remove you from the telephone contact list if you request it. No need to tell them "you people keep calling me" or "I'm on the do not call list" (D.N.C. lists do not apply to business and charities you are involved with.)

Simply pick up the phone and say "I'm sorry, but I prefer not to receive these calls. Would you please put me on your do not call list?". They will comply, and you won't have to get yourself all worked up.

If you are just never home when they call, and you keep seeing it on your caller ID, fear not. eventually (Usually after the end of the calendar month) they will move on to a new list, and the calls should stop.

Dude, chill.  They are absolutely 100% legit.  Stop being such a puss, and call and give them your info.  Phishing...lol, do you even know what that is?

Your on their list because at some point in the past you have given to somebody they represent.  They represent several non-profits.  Very few non-profits do their own fund raising because of expense, and that they are focusing on the work of the charity.

Your going to call the Feds?  And waste tax payer money?  They aren't doing anything illegal.  Call them.  Another poster mentioned a class action suit?  For what? Who is going to represent a case that no court would hear?

Seriously people.  Take matters into your own hands, and stop looking for government to save you from bumps in the night.

Non-profit Organization
This call is from Donor Services Group.  They are not telemarketers, and they call for different non-profits.  That's why you may get different numbers, names, etc.

They only call people that have contributed to the particular cause or organization before, or are members.

It's really funny to read through all the messages, and hear the multitude of comments.  Everyone wanting something different.  What enrages another, is what the other prefers.

So many people complaining about how these people were in contact with them to begin with, when 99.9% are all on Facebook, a giant corporate monster that follows your every move and every dime you spend!  Lol, Americans are so clueless sometimes.

You want to never receive another call about donating to a charity?  Move to Darfur.

You don't have to live in this country, you chose to.  Move to a lawless state, where only the most powerful survive.  Lets see how you do.

Your an American.  Don't act so shocked when someone asks you to help a charity, after spending thousands a year, on video games, movies, ipods, computers, fried chicken, etc.  You chose to be connected, being asked to give a little to those in need, is part of that connection.

Or do some simple online research, and call 888-474-1900.  You have time to whine and cry on this site, but not enough time for a simple Google search?

Or call the president.  Several numbers have been posted, for several of the top dogs.

Here is the fax number.  323-634-7444.  Fax your information if it makes you feel better.  They are a nationally recognized organization.  Despite the complaints here, they are in high standing with the department of commerce, it's not a scam, and you will get taken off the list.

Grow a backbone people.  Show some initiative instead of crying in your diapers.  Pathetic.

It does not make sense why I should give my personally identifiable information to get off the call list of an organization that will not identify themselves to me. All you should need is the phone number you called to remove me.

I like many others will NEVER give anything to you unless you change your policy.

PS I think this board would be of more use if it loaded from newest messages to oldest instead of the other way around....it makes it seem as if this is all in the past instead of just ramping up....

they're still calling. It's clearly a phishing expedition -- different names different days, targeting your soft spots, CLAIMING to be the no call list themselves!!!!.....yes, if they were a LEGITIMATE fundraiser, we might be sympathetic, but these people are frauds. I'm on no-call lists for just this reason, but of course they are not observing that. I think it's time we called the feds on them, and I for one shall do so.

I've been getting one call a day for months.

I've noticed that there's a long pause from when you pick up - until when the message starts  to play- hence the reason there is no message left.

The message is something about not wanting to bother me during the day - call back, or call to have your number taken off.

I've called back a couple times and the message says if you want to get on the do not call list, leave your name and number.

Nothing seems to work. There may need to be a class action suit done.

I receive calls everyday at any hour! I call the number back and it says "To be removed from our DO NOT CALL list, leave your name and telephone number clearly." Yea, I've done that 3 times and I STILL am getting calls at all hours. Is there a place we can go to report them for harrassment or something?! My goodness!

I am another victim of the "called, left no message" group. After reviewing the above  messages, I now must wonder about effectivity of "Do Not Call" program (since the frequency of such calls, and from various numbers, is increasing. Have telemarketers found a way to be identified as "non-profit" groups & therefore avoid the No Call List restrictions ???
I'm sure Congress, etc. will find a way, to effect a law, to correct this ! Hah _ _ _ not in our lifetime !!
Caller ID helps avoid responding to unsolicited "crap" !!!

They have called my cellphone 6 times in the past 2 weeks.  When I answer their calls someone on the other end says, "hello" over and over and there is a busy office sound in the background.  I am beyond annoyed with whoever keeps calling from this number.  Really annoyed.  And if I don't answer, whoever it is never leaves a message.

Also, forgot to mention in the above post, if you answer the phone and tell them not to call you again, they have to put you on their personal do-not-contact list.

The multiple calls are because they use a computer based auto-dialler, which automatically calls back based on certain factors.
