I got a call on my mobile phone from 310-487-598.  The last digit was not displayed on my caller ID.  Since the number was not a valid one, I did not pick up.  No voice mail was left.

I set up an appointment, got their license #, a new model Infiniti G35.  Most likely it's an outfit from the San Fernando Valley, and also likely part of the long-running Allison's Carpets and Best Carperts robo-calling from 07 & 08.

Finally someone with some worthwhile information, not just whining.

I received multiple calls from this incomplete number for a year now.  I never answer since the number looks suspicious.  I tried unsuccessfully to file a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry because one must have a complete number to proceed to the next step.  This is the message I got from the site:


You must have either the phone number or the name of the company that called you to submit a complaint. If you have this information, click Back and complete the previous page.


What should I do now?

If you're on the Do Not Call Registry you should file a complaint - I just did.  I hate these parasites!

How do you know this?  I just got that call an hour ago.

this is also a major ploy by collection agencies to fish for info.

I just got a call from them too (with the last digit missing). I can't believe this is the way they do their "marketing". Ridiculos.

It is happening more often then not. All three of my cell phones received this phone call.  You can have it blocked.  It is annoying.  310 487-5989 is a number that shows it is calling numbers I t show it is a verizon wireless number and has been disconnected

DO NOT, go to the SMART Cleaning & Restoration website.  It is loaded with  phishing attacks.  Even if you put fake information in the "contact us", the site will phish through your cookies.

They call all the time on my cell phone. Tried to tell them I'm on the no call list but they hang up on me before I can finish.

OK! so I made the appointment, and @ 11:15am the next day, they showed up.
After a rather heavy conversation with this guy, where I expressed my frustration with the way they go about getting  their business, AFTER he told me that they use telemarketers to get it, he gave me a number, 1(888)713-8199 to call to get get my number of their list, I called it, while he was there, and got a message that the number was no longer in business...
I put the phone up to his ear, I said wtf are you talking about ? and he started to walk away.
Prior I had gotten his business card & written down the number on his company shirt, but forgot to get HIS name and get his license plate number.

Today I called up the company, "SMART Cleaning & Restoration", 1(800)710-9134
spoke with the boss, that denied he had sent someone to my house, that in fact he didn't have anyone working for him with the description that I gave of the guy coming to clean my carpets (which I don't have)

SO PLEASE, if you don't mind, next time they call you, set the appointment, even if you're not gonna be there, give 'em wrong name and number, cause they won't call to confirm the appointment....and if you really wanna help me, be there, get the technicians name, the company business card, even follow the guy out and get his license plate number of their vehicle...it might be too much, but heym I wanna get those b**tards lol

Caller ID: 310-487-598 (last digit missing) Automated message on my cellphone: Dan Carpet cleaning advertized carpet cleaning promotion.
Just 5 min. before that I got a call from nr.310-939-7858 a female asking for someone I don't even know. Could this be related??

I have gotten this call several times before on my home phone. If I asked who they were, they would hang up. I asked where did they get my number, they would hang up.
Once they gave me a name of the company that I later "googled" and when I found the real number, I called it up, asked why they still keep calling me, and "Dave" informed me, that he had been called up as well and been asked to have his carpets cleaned by his company, and in fact he does not call and harass people over the phone. He's working on a case against them.
I also have listed my number on a "do not call list" so when they called today, on my cell phone, I told them I wanted my carpets cleaned, even tough I have hardwood floors :)
And I will continue to make appointments every time they call me from now on :))

OMG! I picked up because I didn't realize the last digit was missing, so I suspected it was a prank call on another phone from one of my friends. I got this call last night and I got Dan's Carpet Cleaning too! I tried calling them back today, but I then realized that the last digit was missing and I told myself that's not right...that number can't be possible. So I looked up Dan's Cleaning on google and found numerous websites, but none of the contacting numbers seemed to have matched this number. Very strange indeed, and I looked up Dan's Carpet Cleaning 310-487-598 and found this. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! :) My friend got the same call, though, yesterday too. Like everyone else on this post, I too got a call from this number (well, sort of number, as it was missing the last digit).  Since I'm always suspicious of calls like this, I didn't pick up.  Likewise, since this is probably a suspect caller with dubious intentions, they didn't leave a message.

I got this call and picked up a few days ago.  A recorded message began, "Hi, this is Dan and I have a special running cleaning your carpets..." so I hung up.  This is infuriating because my number is on the do not call list already.  I got this call on my work phones a few weeks ago and played along.  I pushed the number for more info, and a female voice picked up.  I said I wanted to make an appt for my carpets and she put me on hold and a man's voice in accented English came on.  I said, "Oh, excuse me, I have to go but could you give me your number so I can call back and make the appt?" and he hung up.  Would love for this to stop at work and now on my cel.

just got a call from 310487598 the last digit was missing I picked up without saying hello and just listened. I did not hear anything, no one spoke up, no backround noise. They hung up within seconds.

I received a call from 310-487-598 as well.  No message left either.  Dang, I was hoping it was a job lead!  I shouldn't be getting solicitations, though, as I am on the "Do Not Call" list.
