I called the # back and the recording gave me the option to opt.
Pretty sure I've done this several times before over the years - I recognized the voice in the recording.

Called, rolled over to vmx and left 3 seconds of silence for a msg. Interestingly, if they are claiming to be from Google, then why did GV put the vmx in spam? Hmmmm?

Robocall for Google ad placement. If you call back you get a recording to press a number to be removed. Bah humbug. It' is a scam.
Kerry 2014-05-30 23:27:55 Telemarketer
Yup called hung up. But why can't we have a reverse fee button on our phones. You call your a scammer I hit *88 and you get charged $5 and my phone bill gets $5 credit. Sure you might try to abuse it but when you get caught *88 legit people you loose the privilege and the scammers can have at you.
There done my rant.

Got the same front page google message, called nearly the same time as another illegal jerk from 856-295-9713
Annoyed 2014-05-12 22:07:37 Telemarketer
These are total dirt bags - and the a-hole at the other end doesn't have any testicles to properly unveil who he really is. Both numbers are from cell phones, one of those unlimited plans were you can annoy the hell out of others that have a real job, and have to actually work.
310-495-4316, and 310-395-4332
http://www.wherecall.com/AreaCode-Exchange/310-495.htm?q=3104954316
And the local telephone company is of little help in that AT&T should be in a position for us to block like up to 500 numbers so that these pests cannot get thru. Ideally block the area code + prefix, to thwart and stymie these a-holes.

This is an interesting one. This number used to belong to a tavern in W Hollywood that was a customer of ours. I guess the scammer Google SEO folks saw that the bar is now closed and spoofed their number???
I answered and got recorded 'sherry' with google. Ha - good try tho!
Have blocked their number.
Honestly, who would ever fall for this kind of crap???
Karen 2014-05-06 02:50:52 Unknown
Let it go to voice mail. No message left.
David 2014-05-05 15:36:17 Unknown
Calls everyday 2x-3x per day. No one on the other line and leaves no message. Reported to Do Not Call Registry still the calls keep coming. Ties up my business line.
X 2014-02-18 23:02:38 Unknown
They called from this number and just hang up. Obviously, a scammer or a robo caller.
Zantac 2014-02-11 15:43:00 Telemarketer
Don't answer the call folks. Whether you answer (and don't say anything) or your voice mail answers, it will still log your number as a valid number. Use YouMail.com or simular service to add numbers like this one to a Ditched Callers list and then have a number out of service message play. The 3 tones send a message to the robo-dialer that the number is bad and it removes it from the call database.
I have done this consistently for the past year and have gone from about 12 calls per week to sometimes none per week.

(310) 495-4316 was a spam call that left a voicemail about a "man who clicks". Blacklisted them on my Ooma phone system.

Already blocked one on Jan 16 from (425) 406-9444 Kirkland WA , and on 10/28/13 from (570) 983-3785 Scranton PA . Does Google know about this?

PRETENDING to be from Google. They sell SEO
Wayne 2014-01-22 23:33:51 Unknown
I recently added a cheap answering machine that has a disconnected recording, including the tones. I then program these phone numbers into a screening unit that prevents these parasites from ringing my phone. Then they get the answering machine with the disconnect message. So far it has worked wonders. the number of telemarketing calls has decreased markedly in the last few days.
I also have programmed all toll free area codes and western Washington area codes into the blocked numbers list. ALL toll free area codes are "spoofed" as these numbers do not actually exist and almost all are telemarketers. And I got a ton of telemarketing calls from 206, 253 and 360.

Google scam with a fake number
get-a-real-job 2014-01-10 17:24:00 Prank Call
I have a couple of ways to deal with these parasites. First, I let the phone ring three full times before I pick up. I pick up and don't say anything for 2-3 seconds. If it is a computer autodialer, 80-90% of the time the computer will hang up thinking it has gotten a voice mail or answering machine. After 2-3 seconds, I say our company name, but don't give out my name. That way they don't automatically have a name if they call back and get someone else. If I still get a person and they insist, I tell them my name is "Richard Smith"(it's not). It is none of their business what my real name is, they are telescammers who are breaking the law. If they persist in calling over and over again, I tell them that my boss is available, and then I use a sports air horn right next to the phone. What are they going to do, sue me? "Your Honor, I was illegally telescamming and they deafened me!" Good luck with THAT argument. The judge might give me a medal. Reporting these "people"(I use that term loosely) to the Do Not Call Registry is futile, they are usually spoofing their phone number anyway. If you have the time, have some fun with them. See how long they will stay on hold or still be on the line if you put the phone down. Take your cordless into the bathroom and have an extended "deposit" at the Porcelain Bank, complete with very loud fake sound effects. Tell them you ARE the boss and listen to their sales pitch, never saying yes to anything, but always saying that you will look at your numbers and see what you can do. Some scammers will record any affirmative answer you give and then splice it into a call and bill you for whatever they are selling, using that as evidence of an order. Waste as much of their time as you can, because that keeps them from scamming other people, and it can be a really fun stress reliever! Anything that we can do to make this less profitable for these ticks on the butt of humanity is a plus. Feel free to pass this on or add to it with your fun ways of taking back your phone lines. If these idiots would get a real job, the world would be a better place for all of us.
This call hung up, but from the comments above, it sounds like yet another Google/SEO scammer. I listed it as a prank call because there is not a choice for "telescammer" or "scam call" on the list.
Small Business in TX 2014-01-10 15:58:42 Telemarketer
Google doesn't call people, no matter what your recording said. They don't need to. If you stay on the line and push buttons, these scammers will call you twice as much. Just hang up. I know it's annoying, but they will eventually quit.
Julianna 2014-01-10 00:34:56 Unknown
Calls often and Silent hang up call each time. I called the number today and you get a recording that supposedly allows you to be removed from their call list in 7 hours. We'll see.
