If the call is to your landline, contact your service provider and ask if they can block it. You can also buy a Truecall blocking machine, which you should be able to find with an Internet search.

If it is to your smartphone, go to your app icon screen to find your app market, and search for call blockers (there should be several free ones available).

For all other cellphones, contact your service provider.

Sitting at a desk and calling people for their card information in order to gain easy access to their money is not a living. My friend is currently dealing with the bs your "honest company" put her through but not everyone is as gullible. I have advised her to report this company and get a new card which is being done as I type. You should stand in line and get a real job, I can even respect drug dealers more than I can scammers and telemarketers. If I was as pathetic a sh*tbag as the people at your company I would have killed myself ages ago. The privileges of life are better appreciated when earned rather than taken, maybe onr day that will make sense.

I enter all kinds of sports contests , so I went with it , he also knew me by name cause he asked for Billy, then he asked me my date of birth, so i told him, then all i got out of it was a bunch of rattled off credit cards and then he hung up on me. I was going along with him, he beter not be f****n with me by getting my DOB. Now i want to call him back but got no number too do so.

I rcvd a call today from a 310 area code saying that a was a finalist in a drawing for $25k, a mustang, a european trip or a room makeover, and she wanted to confirm my address... I did, which I figured was pretty harmless. Then she asked many more questions. My age, my occupation, annual income (so as to not cause undue burden with the expense of mustang registration). I asked how I was entered into the drawing and was told that either a major bank or credit card company would have entered me as a preferred customer - to reward my timely payments. Fishy cuz I am not all that timely, and there are usually privacy policies in effect. They not only wanted me to have an entry in the drawing, but free magazines. Titles were offered and I advised that I would have no interest whatsoever in magazines. The call ended on a pleasant enough note. Then a few minutes later, I rcvd a call with a voice recording that there was trouble processing my order and I needed to follow up with a representative - my order would be discounted as a result. I did not call back. Although I gave no financial info, I'm still a little freaked out having been subject to what is quite obviously a scam. This is new to me and I don't like the feeling.

Well this all sounds familiar. The number showed up UNKNOWN on my cell phone. She (brandi) said she was with publishers sweepstakes and I had been selected as a finalist for a 25,000$ drawing, since I'm such a "valued customer". My BS alarm started going off. I figured I'd play along for a little while, I had nothing else to do. I'll say this they have this crap worked down to a art. She knew my name and my address(like thats hard to get now days). Anyways I was going to receive a free diamond watch and 6 free magazine subscriptions, well 3 free the other for the low low price of 3.95 per week. I was hanging on for that inevitable moment when she would ask for my credit card #, but she did not. Amazing right? She instead told me today was here first day on the job and her supervisor would call me back to make sure she did well. I assured her I'd put in a good word for her. The poor girl is just trying to make an honest living, HAH! Eventually her "supervisor" did call back and gave me summary of the same thing she said. Then it came, the moment I'd waited for. He ask me "so what is the exp. date on that credit card sir"?         click... thanks for playing. If these people call you come up with a good way to waste as much of their time as you can. They need to have their a***s kicked. Damn crooks.

They called did a survey knew my address and said I was in some sweepstakes and I get free magizines but had to pay for one, well they didn't ask for my credit in fo so I wasn't going to willing offer it. So they hung up, I get a call back like a min later from what sounded like the same girl asking for my credit info, I said I didn't want to pay for it and she was pissed saying I wasted her time.  I had no idea where they got my info from...she said I was a preferred customer from my bank?  She said she was from Publishing Company

I recieved the same phone call today but I can say I fell for it like a dumbass, because in all honesty it sounded like a good deal on the magazines and the reps were super nice and even made small talk with me about their own children. The 'supervisor' called back about 10 mins later and explained that the magazine payment was for 2 months and that after I made the intial payment of 39.90 (which was on my bank statement online) I would be billed a couple months later for the same price and that my magazines all 8 of them would arrive in 6-8 wks and I got a tracking number for the so called sweepstakes that I was entered in (2011 ford mustang, trip to europe or 25,000 cash were the prizes) i didnt give her any confidential information and the card I paid for the magazines was a prepaid card that I will now throw away esp. after reading these posts.

i got this call too, telling me i would get a free watch and some magazines if i participated in a survey. she (clarissa) asked me where i work and my age (they can't do anything with that info so i told them). then she surprised me by stating my address, and i confirmed it. she didn't give me a chance to talk and said i would be mailed a diamond watch and a bunch of magazines. then she thanked me and said goodbye. then a minute later, i got another call from a guy asking me how the girl did when she called me and i said she was polite, and he said she's new so she might have been a little nervous. and then i asked to make sure that i'm not being charged anything yet, because i can't afford anything. then he said rudely "you can't afford $3? damnn" and i said "well i just don't know who you are and don't want to give you my card number" and then he hung up and never heard back.

Scam; fishing for your credit card information and personal info.

Got a call from them today. they said they got my info from my credit card/bank. the lady, Dawn, seemed abnormally ditsy and unintelligent. She was supposedly calling from Publisher's Headquarters. Did not have any sort of ID#, nor could she tell me her direct number or company's ph number. she said i had the chance to win $25,000.00, a truck, trip to hawaii, and something else. On top of that I get a free diamond watch, and 6 magazines. She said her manager would call me back right after. I asked her if this info was gonna be emailed to me and she said she had no idea about e-mailing. lol. They have called me 4 times in the past half hour...twice blocking their phone number to get me to answer. Pretty persistent for a company willing to give me $25,000.00 and a bunch of free stuff.

anywhos...knew it was a scam so i called all my credit card companies and banks to report this...of course my credit card/banks said they don't give out my information.

So don't answer this call...and definitely don't give any personal information.

I just got a call from this number which stated she was the supervisor of the last number that called. the information that they have got on you were from a major credit card company that would haven entered you into a the sweepstakes that they put everyone.  supposely and that they are calling cause you had become some finalist.  not sure, its a marketing firm that called which do make cold calling out to supposed winners. i think the winning part or the finalist part is to get you all exited and what not and make your mind to not be wary that you will be buying a subscription to a magazine that would pay for the other 6 magazines.  Its just a big tree killer scam i think.

But the caller ID for this number and the number related are:
+1-310-539-7189  ( ELLIS ISL FUNDI )
+1-310-539-3099 ( CA READER SERVICES )

But i assume that everyone who got called recived the calls on their cell. And knowing how caller ID works on a cell (doesn't show name like land line). But i got that info because i had forwarded my cell to my home, due to att's failing all over network. (and i think thats a big scam too from our mobile carriers,  with all thier adverts about being the best crappy service company ) but if you get the call on your cell its a marketing tactic to hide who they really are.

I just received a call from this number.  The girl was very nice and friendly... and I was too.  However, as soon as the intro spiel was done... having confirmed my address (no problem; I gave no information)... she said "We'd like to know a little more about our contest winners."  RED FLAG!!! She then asked "Do you mind telling me your age?" My response was to pleasantly let her know that any further personal details would have to be shared by me in response to a written request. She then said a quick OK and goodbye.  Goodbye indeed.  QUACK! This gets 3/5 Red Flags.

(Feb. 25, 2009) I think this might be related to the same scam info reported on phone 310-241-0523 because I received a call on my cell from Elina (she had my private cell phone number and home address) at Publishers Headquarters in California who said I have been selected for the final drawing on May 31st for the "Dreams Come True sweepstakes" for (1) $25,000 cash, (2) Hybrid car (black or silver), or (3) kitchen makeover.  She said I definitely would be receiving 6 magazines of my choice for the next 48 months AND a free diamond watch -- totally free.  However, in exchange for this, they did require me to subscribe to one magazine of my choice for 48 months at a cost of $3.95 per week.  She did not ask for any credit card or other payment info at the time of the call, but was very pleasant and friendly.  After we talked, I received MANY different phone calls the rest of today from "Unknown,"310-539-3099" and "310-539-7189," which I did not answer. When I checked WhoCallsMe.com to see what's the scoop and I found out it is a scam.  I will not answer from area code 310 anymore.  I think (from reading the other posts) they were calling me back for my payment info to complete the scam-transaction!

They are selling magazines!  They call with the pretense that you've won a sweepstakes.  Then when the supervisor calls back they try to nail you with a #39.95 monthly payment for 2 years.
