Mortgage relief.... I have my number on do not call list

This has got to be illegal.

I got the same msg as Jessie this morning,

This reckless action must be stopped for ever!

Received a text from two different numbers in the same area code asking if I want mortgage relief.

WE DO NOT DO DEBT SETTLEMENT, EVERYTHING IN THIS ARTICLE IS BOGUS. ITS AMAZING THE EXTREMES PEOPLE WILL GO TO TO ADVERSLY AFFECT SOMEONES NAME AND/OR BUSINESS. THE OLD ADDAGE SAYS THAT WHEN PEOPLE STOP TALKING ABOUT YOU IS THE TIME TO WORRY! SO I GUESS I SHOULDN'T WORRY.

AS A BUSINESS OWNER I KNOW YOU CAN'T BE PERFECT AND PLEASE EVERYBODY BUT WE SURE TRY. AND AS FAR AS THE ALLIGATION WE HAVE NEVER TEXT ANYONE FOR BUSINESS NEVER. IT IS MOST LIKELY AN EX EMPLOYEE THAT IS HAVING A TEMPER TANTRUM!

I received an unsolicited text message from 310-562-9513 stating "If you have $10,000 or more in credit card debt, STOP PAYING SO MUCH INTEREST!  Our program can lower your high payments immediately.  Text back ?YES? for info."
My number is on the do not call list, and this text message violates Federal Law.  I texted "yes" to find out who is behind this number.  I then received a text response from 949-610-5142, asking if they could call.  I again said yes.  
After texting ?yes,? I received a call from 714-683-0500.  Googling it revealed this better business bureau report:

Thus the guy behind these messages is apparently Kenneth Michael Kinses.  He's a licensed real estate agent.  His website offers loan modifications.  Funny thing is, if you google his entire name in quotes, you'll see that a foreclosure notice was filed in late 09 on the house at 2448 W. Grivey in Anaheim.  Not exactly the person I'd hire to handle my modification.

I am not $10,000 or more in debt, and if I was I would NEVER use a company that sent me a text, Im not sure how they got my cell phone.

I just received a text from the same number. It was about credit card debt relief.

"Do you have $10,000 or more in credit card debt? STOP PAYING ALL THAT INTEREST! Our system can lower your high payments immediately. Text back "YES" for info."

I just submitted a complaint to Do Not Call registry:

Got a text:

"Dear homeowner, if you are struggling to make your mortgage payment or have recent hardship, a modification can help. Would you like to learn more about this?"

This is even worse than spam calls because it deducts from my plan without giving me the option to ignore. This company should be prosecuted to the full degree before others think that they can do the same.

Just filed a complaint online at donotcall.gov

File a compliant online at the https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx website.  The more complaint-- the larger the fine and let's put these guys out of business.   I'm furious about getting spam text messages I have to pay for.  Also call your cellphone provider and report the number to them as well and ask to have the charges removed.

in the search for this # there is also a page on reverse directory but you have to pay to look the # up. Whats up with that?

I'm a college student, and I don't even own a house.  I barely own myself!  UGH!  Alerted me while I was doing my project for college!!!

i had the same text on November 18th at 7:46 am i do not have a home nor mortgage how do they get your cell numbers anyway?????????? what a scam..

I forgot to add: it came in to my cell at 19:17 on 18-NOV-2009. I am on AT&T. Never got a marketing text when I was on Verizon.

Just received a text about making a mortage payment.

Text MSG asking if I want mortgage relief.  Unsolicited. I am on Facebook. I also Googled a local mortgage company yesterday to find a friend who owns it.

Text msg came in at 7:52 on a Saturday morning, I was still a sleep!  Text'er failed to leave a business name, how ridiculous!

Text message addressing Dear homeowner...I'm not a homeowner.  Text cam in at 8:42pm on a Thursday...I am in bed and asleep at that time as I must wake at 4:30am each morning!!!

Got the same text and I'm not a home owner.  It's obviously a scam.  Don't reply.

Just got that same text. Keep getting texts from Lowerpaymnt.com too, wonder if they're related.
