caller had strong accent, south-eastern asian pehaps, said he was with yellow pages, wanted our business info, address, number, names.  he knew some & wanted to verify.  Other info he aksed for andit wasnt given.  i said i had to go, he seemed eager to keep me on the line.

This number called and I answered. Seemed like a autodialer - I got a dial tone. I called back and was offer to be taken off their calling list.

Just called and I let the machine answer it, they immediately hung up. Caller ID said call was from OYB ....possibly "other yellow book"? Number was 310.599.9150
I am also on the do not call list!

Called twice yesterday and again just now. Why would anyone in their right mind call the number and press to be removed from a call list? That has just added you to their call list for life!

despite calling back to get off the call list they still call and wanted to keep me on the line. # came back to a Digitcom Services out of Compton, CA.

Say they are updating a yellow page listing then try to sell you some B.S.

A call came in from this number Saturday evening, 2/27/10.  Why they were calling at that time, I don't know but it really doesn't make any difference.  I have started answering, or at least hitting the talk button, these calls by promptly dropping the phone on the desk.  I'm working on my timing so that they get an earful before they can hang up on me.  Enough is enough.  The next step will be buying a whistle and trying to get that timing down so they will hear the shrill sound before they hang up.  

BTW business lines can NOT be registered on the Do Not Call Registry.  You can thank our elected officials in Washington for that.

The lady was very freindly and so was I
 they looked up my number to make sure I wasnt on the list to be charged thru the telephone bill,
Then put my # and my Dads number on thier do not call list.
Not sure if it was really toll free tho guess I will find out.
If you ask the first people to not call they hangup everytime.

He said he was the from the www.reallocalpages.com but I believe that is where he recieved my # from. I messed with them for 16 minutes till he finally hung up.
I played along giving him a false name and agreeing that my info he had was correct altho it wasnt,
He had me give him an email address so I made one up cause he was really pushy even tho I said I had no Internet, LOL
I had done a search previously to see where the number may originate from I think it said Nebraska I have recieved approx 20 call in 2 months!
I talked to One person then verified with The supervisor then They started a recording thing, when it got to the question are you capable of making descions for the company billing I said NO
He stopped it and tried again asking me the same automated question my response NO
I told him I wasnt comfortable with giving him Info unless I knew where he was located

I said: If I wanted to mail you an envelope what would I have to write on the outside of it

I asked him If he was a member Of the BBB He said yes
I said I need your actual zip code and street to verify the info
Needless to say He Hung up
The Do not call list has to be redone every year so you have to register again.
They say they are the Online Yellow Book on caller ID it says OYB
Altho they have called before and it was different yet the same #

This Is a Fishing Scam offering you certain services for free, Then Billing you once they Have enough Info/ or stealing credit card info and such
Next time I am going to Use the Dr.Phil Soundboard that you can get online on google and prank them back....
If they continue to call I will report them but I just registered again for the Do not call list so I think I cant report them for 30 days, Then I will take action if calls persist.

Don't update.  Do not at anytime say yes during the phone conversation or just hang up.   They are recording you saying yes when they read off your information.  Then they send you a bill for the listing.  They play back their terms and price for listing and then tag your response yes to it and play back for you and say you owe for some listing you will never see.

How many times do I have to tell these people to take us off the calling list?! They call the company I work for all the time! Most of them I CANNOT understand what they are saying and when I try to ask them something, the immediately hang up on me. That right there is a dead give away that it's a scam! I called the number back and pressed #1 to be taken off the calling list. We will see how long that lasts...

We had a call the morning of 12/28 which we were not able to answer due to not getting to the phone in time. (Long story.) Had a few minutes just after noon-time, so I *69d the call. Report was that the call came from (310) 599-9150.

Is this that yellow-page scam? We've had umpteen calls from these people, mostly from someone with utterly unintelligible English. But in one of the calls the lady asked if this is a non-profit organization. When we responded that it is, she said "sorry" and hung up.

try: "411 Local Search Corp."  they are NOT an accredited business. check the BBB for this in Toronto, ON.

This company calls my office 3 or more times a day to 'update' my yellow page listing, which I don't even have.  They lead you to believe this is a freee service and at the end of the call they tell you they are going to invoice you in the same fashion as the previous year.  They are the biggest scammers out there.  Do not give any personal information to these people whatsoever!!!

They call everyday, 3 or 4 times, here at the office.  My boss and I are sick of them calling saying that they wanted to update our yellow pages listing.  It's been updated so many times already that it's probably outdated!  Quit calling already!!!!!!!

I called the number back and they prompt you to dial "1" to be put on the do not call list.  Unfortunately, it's been a week and they are still calling.
