This person called, phone-mill noise in background, asking for a Brill???.  I'd received this call on my cell many times.  Different voice.  Claimed not to hear my protests.  I used words I wouldn't repeat here.  I don't know this person or anything about him or her.

310-735-0275 is a local contractor contracted by World Recovery Services. They kept calling asking for someone that had given them false information. I told them it was a wrong number. They apologized and said they are going to remove my number from their list.

About two months had passed and guess who called again? World Recovery Services. Don't they ever check and update their database?

I get five of these debt collector's phone calls every day. Anyway short of filing a class action lawsuit against them for persistent, harassing phone calls?

I just got a call also concerning a bank account with a negative balance from 2009? But after I researched turns out the bank merged and changes names in 2008! Its a scam! There is no way that a bank would not of contacted me over the last 5 years about a debt owed to them from a checking account. The CSR was rude and trying very hard to threaten me and make me pay immediately.

This number has called me repeatedly claiming I owe a debt but when I ask for official documentation of their claim via mail they refuse to send it to me (or they agree to, but never do).  They sometimes leave voicemails, sometimes not.  They never say the details when they do leave a message.  They always call from different numbers (state area codes vary).  The amount I supposedly owe has changed multiple times.  I asked them if they had reported this debt to any national bureaus and they avoided the question.  As long as my credit report looks good I'll ignore suspicious numbers.

I got a call from 310-735-0275  last week and I let it go to voice mail.  The caller did not reveal his name nor the company he was calling from- only said he was attempting to collect a debt.  The person they were looking for was my ex-husband whom I've been divorced from for 20 years.  I've had my telephone number for 12 years...how this collection agency obtained my unlilsted phone number is suspicious.  Couldn't have been through my ex since we have not spoken in 18 years and he doesn't have it.  Why this, in my opinion, scam company is calling my house looking for someone I haven't associated with in years is sketchy.

If is sounds like a scam and smells like a scam it's probably a scam!

Male asking for a Laura, got smart with me when I asked him what number did he dial.    After awhile he was able to read off my number to me.  I kept him on long enough to search his number and just stopped talking.   I hope it was a debt collector and "Laura" scored big! Creeps anyways...

No validation, no debt. It's that simple.

Great advice posted by an attorney on:
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-718-732-0174

"IF they do not provide you with the verification of the debt, the debt is invalid and not subject to collection.  PAY NOTHING TO ANYBODY UNLESS THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH WRITTEN VERIFICATION OF THE DEBT, AND ONLY THEN IF YOU FEEL THE DEBT IS VALID - otherwise, let them sue you for the debt, as a real law firm will only bring a legal action on a truly valid debt".

They call and ask for money on a checking account I used to have many years ago.  They claim I owe money and ask for money, then threaten to double or triple the amount I owe, if I do not pay right now.  This amount they say I owe has varied.  When I ask for official correspondence, I?m being asked, ?are you kidding me??  I have yet to receive a letter from this alleged collector.

Got a call from 310-735-0275 about a Bank Of America balance from 2007, of some 300 plus dollars. I zero out and close any and all bank accounts. They were fishing for information, which I never give out or acknowledge over the phone, no matter how legitimate they seem to be. I searched for them online and no such business exists in Southern California. I contacted BOA corporate and they never heard of World Recovery Services. They threatened legal action and I encouraged them to postal mail me anything they wish concerning this event. I got nothing! Any legitimate collection agency would postal mail first or as a follow up. WARNING!

I had a call from this number last week, and they apparently been trying to reach me for years for an old debt, and said to avoid law suit that I had to pay either $3600 dollars at front or $306 dollars a month for the next year to pay off this debt.  Who do I report this number to?  I told them to send me correspondence, so I can verify the agency and the debt owed.  They said they had the creditor on the other line, but I only spoke with a female representative and another alleged supervisor who was female. Is there anyway to find additional information, they say they are world financial.

I just received a phone call from them as well.  I didn't recognize the number other than I had recently had to call this area code in CA for something.  I thought it was them and picked up the phone.  The rep, a male, allegedly named Jeff Maurhon indicated he had a file on his desk that needed attention.  I asked with whom he worked, he said "United Credit".  I asked about the 'file' that he had.  He indicated that it was an old account, from 2007, from Huntington bank in which a balance needed to be paid in excess of $4100.  I asked him what the last 4 digits of the social security number on the account were.  He couldn't tell me that information.  I then pulled out my latest credit report dated 5/3/13 and explained to him that a credit default that bad, from 6 years ago, would be listed on it.  He said they are not required to report to the credit agencies.  I said "no, but a bank would, a long time ago."  After I got more information from him I explained that I've never had an account with this bank.  Big time scam and I'm not sure how they got my number.  Keep a fresh copy of your credit file on hand all the time!!!

It is a number associated with World Recovery Services - supposedly a third party debt collector but could be a scam artist. I have had 3 calls in the past week from different numbers that claim to be bill collectors but when I searched them online ti shows they have been filed on with the Federal Trade Commission for fraud activity.
