Just UCLA asking for donation.

I got a call from this number too. Also UCLA medical center. They told me they were having a phone glitch and to disregard any calls.  Strange.

You think that's bad, I get fax calls 4 or 5 times a day (each fax number calls me at least ten times) there all trying to REACH UCLA doctors.  It is annoying as all get out, most of these people forget to dial the 1.  WHEN DIALING OUT OF YOUR AREA CODE DIAL A 1... Cellphones SHEESH they have ruined people so they don't know how to use land lines anymore...  Frustrating!

this number has been calling me every night for WEEKS.  sometimes twice a night.  they never leave a message.  i too am a ucla alumi but haven't gone to the college, let alone live in l.a., for years.

HOW DO I MAKE THEM STOP?

I received a call from this number. When I called back, I reached a man who said that it's the switchboard for the UCLA Medical Center.

i just got a call from this number (2/10/10 @ about 8:50pm PST). a guy with a deepish enunciated voice asked for me, and i asked who was calling. they just hung up. WTH?

Have gotten four calls from this number over past two weeks. They never leave a message. After reading all these posts from 2 years ago, I don't want to pick up.  Has any more info been found about this number? Is the crankster starting again?
I am a UCLA alumn and do know that the alumni association calls annually for fund raising -- but seems like this ain't that.

Got the call in the evening of 7/15/10 in 7:33 pm in Calif.  Didn't answer and no message.   But lLook what I found !

Received 2 calls from the same number.   I answered the second time.   The caller asked if this was Dr......     I  replied yes.   Caller then hung up.   I too went to UCLA.  I was never informed I was part of a social security breach.  My cell phone number is pretty new (8 months old).    If they are going down a list, my last name starts with W.

They first rang my fax machine; then my cell phone.  So they are just going down a phone number list captured from UCLA.

I got a from this number today May 10, 2010. I missed the call on my cell. No message left.

I will add that i work for UCLA's Healthcare division. Earlier in day someone from work was trying to get ahold of me. Maybe this was them calling me from a different number?

I got several phone calls from this number too. I never picked it up and they never left a voice message. I am a UCLA student.

This number calls several times a week, never leaves a message.  I am in the Pacific NW, not alumni, never attended UCLA.    Caller listed on ID as UCLA Telecom CS.  Calls from this number and several others for 'Cancer Research' all started in force at about the same time at the beginning of Feb.  I suspect it's yet another scam.

i recently posted I got a call on my cell this afternoon with no message.   I should add I attended ucla over 25 years ago.  Don't know what is going on.

I graduated in '94 and was a part of the SSN hack. Just got a call at my father's house, whose number is not associated with me in ANY of my financial records. I did not answer; no message was left.

This follows my earlier post of this date. Though 310 794 9966 is not a published number for ucla, it is indeed one of the "default" numbers left by a variety of phones in use in the Med Ctr and the rest of the campus. I was directly connected tithe Med Ctr by 411 operator  (I did not dial any number). When I asked the switchboard operator at the Med Ctr if the subject number was the number fir ucla patient info, she confirmed that it was. She seemed familiar with the problems described on this site and mentioned that there was yet another number, 825 something, that was sometimes left as a default. The problem is that no message is left, the default med Ctr number is left on caller I.d. And the return caller is left with  (in my case) that he has received an intentional call fr the med Ctr. Troubling when you live 2000 miles away from L.A. And your only connection to the campus is your son, a UCLA freshman.

I am the parent of a ucla freshman. I received a call from this number on a weeknight at 6:44 pm California time. No message left by caller. Returned call and respondent, a youthful sounding female, answered the phone "ucla medical center". I Then advised that my son was a student and asked who called me and why. She said she could check to see if he was a pAtient, then put me on hold - I made the mistake of giving his name. She then put me on hold and came back and reported he was not a patient. I then reached my son on the cell phone and he reported that he had never been to ucla hospital. I suppose they were harvesting names.

I also missed this call---no message. 8:03 PM Central time, Thursday night.
UCLA directory lists THREE numbers starting with 794-669X but none ending with a 9 as of Sept 24, 2009.
I have two degrees from UCLA, 1982 and 1986. I was notified when I got hacked.

im a UCLA alum and ive been getting them too. i used to work for the campus too and if they were actually calling from UCLA this phone number wouldnt show up. Anything from a UCLA landline phone shows up on caller ID as 310-825-4321. anything that isnt from that number is not coming from the campus.

I called, couldn't understand the guy's greeting, and said "I just had a missed call from this number." He replied "Just disregard, please." I said "can you please remove me from your list? I get frequent calls from this number" and he said "We're working on it, pardon the inconvenience, Madam." It was too formal and he was in a big hurry to hang up: seems super fishy to me, especially that no one identifies who they are or what organization they're calling from. If it were UCLA I'm fairly certain they would acknowledge that in their greeting.
And someone in an earlier post said they confirmed their mailing address with an operator -- I have to say, that's NOT a good idea. Don't confirm any of your info with these people.

I received a call at 6:35 PM and did not pick up. The caller did not leave a message. I called back and a woman answered with some generic greeting. I said, "I just received a missed call from your number" and she said, "If you didn't have a message, someone probably misdialed." After reading this forum I suspect that's BS, so I said "Are you sure?" and she said, "Yes ma'am." I hung up.

I keep getting this number too for like a month, I don't ansewer because I don't pick up numbers I don't know, no message or anything. I'm glad I checked online and found this fourm, man this is not cool.
