Just started getting this round of calls again.  Thick accent, asked for our CEO by name.  I asked what it was regarding. Said her name was Katherine and she was with VOIP Research Group and wanted to confirm information. When I said he wasn't in the office (which was true) she asked when she could reach him. I said he would not take her call and I thanked her and hung up.

Mary with "DOIB Group".  Who knows if that is really the name, as she had a very heavy accent.  Hard to understand.  Said she wanted to talk to a specific person in regards to "unified communications".  Then, the line started cutting out, so she said she would call back at a later time & hung up.

The caller ID said number was 310-881-3780, Marina Towers.

A lady with a heavy Asian accent called to verify my name and wanted to do a survey.  I told her I was not interested in doing a survey.  She was still talking as I hung up!

Lady with a bad accent called asking for our dead office dog, who happens to have a subscription to several magazines. Just hung up on her.  They obviously paid some company for names.

I just answered a call from this number in our small call center.  The person mumbled their name and then slurred another name of a person that they were trying to reach working here.  The person said that they were looking for someone in our IT department.  We have recently been aquired by a different company and I advised them that they would need to call our HQ that is in another state.  The male caller then asked me what my job title was to which I asked why as I am not in IT.  I told him to call the headquarters again and he told me to have a good day and hung up.  Caller ID read Marina Towers, it's a total scam, but I sure had fun messing with them.  It's the little stress relievers that get me through my day.

Our company just received a call from this number. There was a lot of background noise and then a woman with a thick Asian accent came on the line to request to speak with our CFO. I insisted on taking a message while she insisted on speaking with the CFO. Eventually, she hung up.

Sounds like a HUGE scam to me. I advise everyone who receives calls from this number to hang up.

Called to speak with "A.G. Edwards".
I was silent for a moment and replied that no, she may not speak to A.G. Edwards.
This was a mistake.
She became very short with me and demanded why she could not speak with  Mr. Edwards.
I explained that A.G. EDWARDS was the name of a corporation not a person and unless all of his riches somehow prolonged his life, the dude is most assuredly dead.
She then replied " I am sorry to hear this, may I speak to who it is that took his place?"

O_O

I could see where this was going so I just told her we were in no way affiliated with them and politely said goodbye.

She just called my office asking to speak with a woman who had acted as our office manager for a few years in the mid nineties (not sure how she could have gotten that?). When I told her she was no longer employed here she told me to transfer her to the IT department and that she needed to verify some company information with them. I tried to get her to explain why she needed to confirm any information she may have and she rattled off the same information mentioned here about some vague "VOIP company" and the "[unintelligibly mumbled] Group" with no real explanation. She claimed she would call back later when I said no one was available, I certainly hope she does.

310-881-3780 Marina Towers called asking for one of our Project Managers. I asked for her name and who she was with and she rambled off some information that I couldn't hear. I asked her to repeat herself and she got extremely hostile.
I asked her what the call was about and she claimed to want to verify information. I asked her what she was trying to verify information for she snapped at me for "interrupting" her. I told her we couldn't help her and she hung up.

For months now, a woman calls with a very thick Asian accent, from 310-881-3780, claiming to be Katherine Brooks wishing to speak with the Chief Technology Officer.  When I tell her that wasn't going to happen, she talks over me and asks for the IT department.  I tell her every time, "that isn't going to happen either."  I eventually hang up.  Ah, the comedic relief I'll settle for these days.

310-881-3780 calls my direct # at work constantly, and when I see it on caller ID, I just put it right to my voice mail.  No message is ever left by them.

I've gotten to where If I ever get a call from anyone I don't know, a blank caller ID, or a caller ID of a phone # I don't know, I send to straight to voice mail.  Since a vast majority never leave a message, I don't worry about missing their call!

So did I, she had a thick Asian accent and I can barely understand her. She kept asking to verify my information, and I kept asking her what it's for and who she's with. I must have asked her 3-4 times what company she's with, but she kept interrupting me and asking my information. Finally she told me she was with "VOIP Company" then she said "Group". I also noticed the caller ID said Marina Towers. So I put her on hold, and it didn't take her long to hang up.

A heavily accented woman called & said her name was "Jodi".  She stated that she was calling for some VOIP company.  When I asked her for her call back #, she actually asked me why I needed it.  Told her the best way to get in touch w/the executive she was calling for was to leave a message w/me.  She said she would email him instead.  I said OK & hung up on her.

They called, something about a credit card, which our company does not have, short of an Office Depot CC. More then likely some company that's trying to phish money out of people with mediocre services.

The number was 310-881-3780.

They called yesterday, when I said our company name they hung up.  Today they just called and I answered the phone "Hello", a woman with a foreign accent asked for one of our sale men.  When I asked who she was she said Michelle with White Papers and I couldn't understand the rest but I told her he wasn't interested, I think she assumed he was with IT and then she said it again, I told her again, we were not interested and she said maybe she had the wrong person and I hung up.

Continue to receive calls from 310-881-3780 and they are phishing for names.  They ask for a person but had repeatedly told them -- no such person.  When asked what they want, they hang up. How can you help them when the don't want to answer some questions when asked. Very rude and non-professional folks!

some woman with a very thick accent called; googled the Number and came up with a couple items that ones may wish to avoid -

1) telecommunications Marketing for credit card processing company

2) Claims to be with Craigs list, where for a small fee of $180.00, they will cheerfully get to you a list of Homes & Apartments for rent [so they claim]

Use your own judgement, Folks Hope this helps.
