Got this call twice, once 06/28/2014 9:29 AM and 07/01/2014 9:20 AM. First time, same as all others got "Sorry wrong number" and second time hung up before I could answer. Will try to see if ping call for other telemarketer number that follows.

got the same sort of call as others - when I answered, a lady's voice said "I'm sorry, I called the wrong number". I suspect it's either a scam to try to get people to call the number back and get crazy high fees charged to phone bill or a system checking for live numbers for putting you on scam robo call lists.

This number came through around 8:40pm in my office. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize so I didn't pick up. Funny thing though, is multiple phones around me were ringing, at the same time. Not sure if was from the same number or not but still very weird...

got a call from this number a 9:00 am EST today, no voicemail unknown called ID

Called me at work. I had to answer because, well, I'm at work and get calls from people I don't know all the time. Called back and it says that the number is no good.

I just got a call from this number. I did not answer as I didn't recognize the number. There was no voicemail. I called the number back as I was expecting a call from the midwest, and was told it was unreachable, then went online to search the number, and saw this post. Hope I'm not going to be billed exorbitant rates as one poster mentioned!

This number called several phone numbers in my department, all had the same pre-recorded voice saying "sorry, I dialed the wrong number." I suspect that this is a bot harvesting "real" phone numbers - seeing if anyone picks up, and potentially what greeting they give.

this is probably part of the "One Ring, Missed Call" scam. if you answer "Sorry I've called wrong number" if you don't they just hang up. if you call the number back you get stuck with a LOT of charges on your cell or home number bill.

Create a contact called Ignore on your phone and add the number to the contact.

Once you answer,you are put on a robo call list as an active number....never answer if you don't know the number!

I also received a call from this number with a recorded message of "Im sorry I called the wrong number"  The name on the caller id says "Wireless Caller" and the number is 312-241-7487.  Because of the fact that this occurred with other people, I am sure now that it was either a telemarketer and/or scam call.  I am on the do not call registry and I tell every single telemarketer who defies this and calls me anyway to put me on the do not call list but this keeps happening.  I have filed a report and so should you people who this happened to.  

Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

At 9:06 pm received call from 312-241-7487, since it was after 9 I answered and a recorded lady's voice said " I'm sorry I have dialed this number by mistake"  Well! what's going on with this one, another scam, I'm ready to have phone service turned off. It doesn't work to add number to do not call website, I have went in several times and submitted number. I still receive an average of 4 to 6 telemarketing calls per day. Usually watch caller id and just don"t answer, but since it was after 9 I did answer this one.

I got the same call - 10:04 PM.  I tried to call the number back, and a phone company recording said, "The number you have reached is unreachable."  That's a new one to me..

I got the same recording only they called at 9:54 pm! I have kids that are in bed! Aggravating

Same message as mentioned by others. Call received at 5:58 pm CT, 4/30/14. So far this is the first call for me.

Just got this call and a lady said I got the wrong number and I also thought it was a real person and I said are you sure and she had hung up.

I never answer my phone now unless I know who is calling. They nhave called my number 4 times in the past 3 days. I just delete.

Yah...woman's voice "said sorry I dialed the wrong number." I thought it was a person, so I said... 'that's ok,' but it hung up. Then I looked this up, and saw the comments. What sort of 'angle' is this? I don't get it. Is it a collector/seller robo 'pre-call' to see if you answer your phone, or?

Wow...thought I knew a lot about phone call techniques (as I'm the victim of plenty)... but this is the newest and among the most inexplicable.
