Just got a call from this number as well at lunchtime. 1240 CDT (thereabouts.) I was trying to take a 1/2 hour nap before I had to go back to work.

This call really got me angry....WHY CALL DURING LUNCH BREAK.

Whatever, whoever they are don't do business with them in my opinion....

I have not been personally contacted by this number, (312) 258-4260, by someone acting as Tricare representative.  It is a scam originating out of Chicago, IL.  Do not give out any PII (personally identifiable information) on yourself or anyone else for that matter.

This is called PHISHING, and once they have your SSN, DOB (date of birth) and other data, they'll commit identity fraud, and cause all sorts of financial crimes and mayhem, ultimately affecting a persons' credit, potentially bankrupting the individual.  It'll take years to sort out the mess.

If you are contacted by ANYONE asking for PII, DO NOT give out any information, take down the number, hang up, and report it to your superiors.

I wonder if they know that someone is using their company line to attempt identity theft against US service members?

These losers tried to call searching for information they were not entitled to while posing as a Tri-Care survey. Since there are so many reports here I have to wonder why hasn't the owner of this number been arrested and the message machine taken down for fraud? I got a warning email about this number being used this way 5 days ago so why the delay? This number has an address associated with it and law enforcement could drive over and remove this identity theft criminal any afternoon. Or they could just have the number terminated by the phone company right away and pick up the criminal later. Why leave this answering machine in operation?

I am military, and Tricare DOES NOT make calls like this. I even went up to the local Tricare office on base and asked them, and they said they never give out info for anyone to call you and ask questions. Give them your information at your own risk is what I was told, or better yet, ignore the call.

I called the number back (Tricare survey) and I was able to remove my number from their listing.  All they asked for was my phone number.  Extremely simple process.  Hopefully it works.

DoD will NEVER have someone call to do a survey. They do not contract out to companies for the BS. They will mail you something, or send something to your AKO account. This is a scam company trying to get information from you to use against you; ie: steal your identity. Dont answer, or call back, and give them any information. Its sad that they have to use the military as an excuse now to con people.

Survey
in 2010 Synovate was paid over 38.5 MILLION dollars to conduct various survey services - this is absolutely insane!  governmentcontractswon.com provides access to all related contract data.  Why DoD is wasting FY Funding on outside companies to conduct patient satisfaction surveys instead of utilizing service members in the Customer Relations Job Series is beyond me.  Fraud, Waste and Abuse 38.5 + times, if you ask me.  If MEDCOM is that concerned about the services provided they need to take the initiative to have open forum discussions with the patients, and it would be FREE!  then they could allocate the 38.5 million dollars to the Morale, Welfare and Recreation funding campaigns and actually contribute to the morale of the military family. Unforgivable.

get your facts straight.  Synovate does the surveys for Tricare. Next time you receive a notice in the mail to fill out survey, notice who it is from - Synovate.  This is perfect legitimate.  I am an Army Wife and receive these all the time when one of us uses tricare services.

THIS IS NOT TRICARE!!! Emails are going around to my facility not to give them any information. They're fishing for personal info and even asking for deployment schedules. (Probably so they can use your info when your away from the U.S. and can't do as much about it.

Prank Call
This number has been calling my phone now for a couple of weeks. I finally answered . A man was trying to ask me questions. He said he was calling from the Dept of Defense.   Be -Ware , Try-care and the Dept of Defense do not call your cell phone to ask questions.   This is someone wanting information.   Don't  give info out over the phone!!    I called the number back, a few minutes later, Their was a woman's voice on an answering machine message; she was  saying it was a marketing  research company for the Dept of Defense health care system.

If it is a real business. How come when you Google the phone number, you get this page??   If it was real you would get a business name and address.

Survey
I got this call just a little while ago. They were looking for my brother who is in the National Guard, but moved out of state and transferred to his new state's Guard over a year ago. If this company was legit, they'd have his up-to-date info by now. Since I had already looked up the number after the first time they called (I didn't answer the first time) I answered and told them "no one by that name lives here" and she apologized and said she'd remove our number. I wasn't about to give out his new number or address over the phone anyway.
