If you do have a bad debt..... make sure you request a verification of the debt in writing. if they can't come up with that, you are off the hook completely

scam call?  I am on the do-not-call list.

I'm told the number belongs to Harris & Harris, a debt collection agency that works with healthcare providers, mainly hospitals.

They call our home phone did not respond at all. Company on caller Id

I am one of many who receive these calls. My mom just passed away and I am in mourning.
This aggravation is unwarranted.

Its a collection agency for parking ticket and red light violations for the city of Chicago

I went to northwestern ER about a year ago and filled out forms stating I could not pay for treatment--they treated me with the understanding I couldn't afford payment...and now harris and harris won't stop calling me...

Same as everyone else, except the message on the machine says "this is community hospital we are trying to reach......" and the message stops. My heart sank the first time I heard it and ran to the phone.  This has got to be unlawful.  Has everyone reported this to the phone company?

We have been receiving calls from this firm for years, I am taking over 5 years now, for a person "Daniel Robinson".  Maybe he had our number before but we've owned our phone number for over 10 years now.  I am not sure whether to reply or not to them since like previous posters mentioned they might mark it as a "good number".  I don't know what to do.  We know its not for us they are trying to reach.  VERY annoying!

Got a call from 312-265-9029 yesterday. It is a Debt Collection Agency posing as a Harris & Harris Law Firm. They also call from a different number: 312-423-7173.

They call at least 5 times a week. No Message.

I kept get a recorded message saying they were looking for a david something-or-other, they had an option to press if that person wasn't at that number, which I pressed and it directed me to call 312-423-7484.  I called that number and got immediately into a voicemail with no information in the greeting.  I told them they had the wrong number and not to call again.  They just called again, so I googled it, came to this page and called 866-645-4479 (from above) got some guy who claimed their "computers were down" but that he would delete me from the list.  We will see.

I am so sick of this BS number calling my house all hours and waking my newborn daughter up.....and for what????????? NO REASON AT ALL........it's always some stupid lady saying for me to give her a call and saying she is from the cook county courts..........yeah right like im stupid or something..........if it was from the court house it wouldn't say this on my caller ID...........maybe some people don't care and are lonely and need someone to talk to, but not me.......now i have to pay for call intercept on my phone to keep idiotic people like them and other annoying telemarketers to leave me alone......right now i have 19 blocked numbers on my phone and why????? because they have no lives and can't get a real job.......all i have to say is leave people alone and if it is a bill collector leave people alone, they will pay when the heck they feel like it.

Same thing as most everyone else on this log.  I keep getting calls from 312 265 9029 from Harris and Harris.  You can't return calls to that number, it will disconnect you after a greeting.  I was able to get through to a person on 866 645 4479 and they told me they removed the number from their system. We will see if that works. This has been going on for months, so I'm hoping this last call to them will work.

I have had the same problem on my business phone and called the 8666454479 and they "said" they removed me from the list.

Got a scrambled message on my ans machine.  Tried calling the number (312.265.9029) many times and found out it was Harris & Harriscolection agency.  A recording said to hold on to be transferred to an operator, each time i was immediately cut off.  A dial tone would blast in my ear.  Finally, I called the number (866-645-4479) listed above and got through to a VOICE and he used my phone # to check and asked for a David... a name unfamiliar to me.  He told me it was a mistake and would delete my phone # from their records.  I smell a SCAM!  Anyone else?

Received a call from the same number. A prerecorded voice says they are from Harris & Harris ( a debt collection agency). I attempted to call them back to remove my number from the list and is kept hanging up on me. Apparently my new cell phone number use to be some dead beat's old number.

I keep receiving calls from this number on my home phone. No one ever says anything. The caller ID says "AOI Test 426", which I think is a way to test to see if the number is active for telemarketers. Don't know who to report this to in order for it to stop.
