As of 2008, your registrtion is permanent so long as you continue to use that telephone number.

I got a call from 312-273-9104.a few times.  I think you have to register your number annually with the donotcall registry.  then go to the registry and file a complaint.

what a pest!  I thought I was on the "Do Not Call" list too.

Then report it on the DO NOT CALL LIST SITE!  The more times we report it, the more fines they recieve until they cancel the number, then they just get a new number. Come on dumbassess, figure it out!

DON'T answer! Once they have a live number they sell it to scammers! DON'T answer a call if you don't know who it is! Come on idiots, figure it out!

all the name on my caller id says is "Chicago". i'm also on a 'do not call list', but i keep getting calls! everyone needs to contact their local congressperson and put them on notice they will not get re-elected until they stop being so impotent against these federal agencies that don't the job they were hired to do--to keep these telemarketers from bugging us! so mad as heck over this crap.

These are scammers !! Do nothing and nothing will happen !!  Report these damn calls and block the number from your phones and maybe you can get some damn sleep !!

Call came through to my Cell Phone which is registered on the National Do NOT Call List, I answered and told them to remove my number and the foriegn speaking person says "OK" and hangs up me......

Call from this company...free two day cruise....it's a scam.  Hang up!  Do not Call list....also a scam!  I've asked this company numerous times to NOT call.  About the 7th phone call from them.

ROBO-message on answering machine from EFA or ESA Research wanting me to answer survey questions and then I'd get a free 2-day Carribean cruise, but pay taxes and incidentals. This is not a bona-fide survey protected by the DNC laws, as they are selling something.

Have had this number call both my cell and land line.  When I do answer, they just hang up.  When I don't answer, they don't leave a message.

I constantly get these kind of calls and I have my numbered registered on a no-call list.  So much for government intervention!

Yesterday it was a supposed survey on national debt.  Today the same number is calling over and over trying to send a fax... over and over and over.

Called my mobile.Let go to vm; no msg left. On "Do-not-call" list but what good is it doing?? SO sick of this!

Its that time of year again. Jan/Feb I get a lot of calls from this Cook Co/Chicago area code.
Hey NORC, it IS my understanding respondents personal info is kept confidential.  Including sharing of respondents phone numbers. You wouldn't want to lose a respondent - would you?  I'm not interested in voicing my political views in a survey pool for someone elses personal/political gain  :(

So are you saying that someone who is obviously trying to scam someone is not a crook? Everyone I know considers someone who will try to scam, steal or whatever word you choose to use, a crook. Is thief a better choice? All the same...

Regardless, they are obviously up to no good in my opinion otherwise they would speak to the ones who do answer when the phone rings.

Worthless as it is, we are on the Do Not Call list and callers such as this one are not welcome and never will be. They need to go earn their money legally like the majority of us do and stop the harrassing phone calls. I can not believe you think this is okay.

Got the call about 35 minutes ago. EFA Survey Group, obviously trying to switch you to a cruise purchase.   I took my usual response of going to www.donotcall.gov and registering a complaint.  They can't do their job if folks don't report it.

Another one of those harrashing, no message calls.  Will take it to the local police department.

Three times a week. I'm on the no call list. Prehaps our fine legislators may pass more toothless laws.

You assume the least qualified get hired?  Promotions go to the under-achiever?
Can you imagine how bad it would be if they actually WEREN'T doing anything?
Get rid of your expensive landline and get a VOIP phone which has unlimited blocking.  YOU are part of the solution.  Report EVERY call.  
Or do nothing and complain.  And thereby help the scammers.

I have continiously sent complaints to the FCC .I was pretty harsh with them because these calls have been coming to me for over 2 years .I asked the FCC when they are going to pick up these creeps and when are they going to start doing their jobs.I also told them that there millions of unemployed people in this country that would do a better job at half their pay .I also bought a Panasonic Dect 6 phone and can block 30 calls .Verizon charges $4.95 a month to block 5 calls.I have blocked private and anonomous calls and if they press *82 I don't answer and block them on my phone.It's a disgrace that Congress passes these laws and does nothing .There is supposed to be a $7500 fine for calling a DNC number, that would stop this nonsense .I would strongly complain to the FCC also send a copy to your Congressman,being an election year someone might actually listen.
