Just got a call from this # at my place of employment. The recording mentioned something about the FBI suggesting installing a home security system free of charge. PLEASE!!!!!

The Do Not Call list DOES NOT apply to surveys.  These types of calls are exempt.

I don't think filing a complaint is going to help, because they're not doing anything illegal.  Do Not Call prevents telemarketers from calling, but telephone surveyors are legally allowed to call.  The below is from the FTC website:

4. What types of calls are not covered by the National Do Not Call Registry?

The do not call provisions do not cover calls from political organizations, charities, telephone surveyors, or companies with which a consumer has an existing business relationship.

Did not answer call from unrecognized number. On National Do Not Call list.

Call on my cell on Jan 20. Of course I didn't answer. Calls like this on my home phone are bad enough, but on my cell phone? Good grief.

I received a call from the above number on my cell phone, which is registered on the Do Not Call Directory.  I did not answer the call; they did not leave a message, so why did they call if they did not leave a message?  Ridiculous!

I receive a dozen or so calls from this number a month I have asked they get me off thier list they tell me to go to hell and they will sell my number to more ppl.

Multiple calls from this number. I do not answer. No messages left.

It's a political survey! 3 questions and you get a trip to Bahamas. Nice but then the try to sell you more nights. I got the places I wanted to go to for a great deal. So it wasn't that bad actully answering this call. I never do but I was stuck inside do to a blizzard so the call did come at the right time.

Received several calls from 312-273-9060 have answered no one on the line will not answer these calls anymore thanks for all the great info on this site.

I keep receiving calls like another person on this message board described; ie press number.....

This is extremely annoying and I don't like the idea these callers end up using all my available voice message time until I get to my messages.

Recieved a call from this number on January 20th at 4:37PM PST. Obviously the caller chose that hour with the idea that the person recieving the call would be home having dinner. I did not pick up the phone my answering machine took the call for me. Unfortunately the caller did not take the time to leave a message.

keep getting calls from this number though I am on no call registry.  Answered today and got recording, to hold for next available rep

Spam, recording asking me to participate in their survey, also said I would recieve free trip to the bahamas, I hung up without participating

Got this call on my cell.  Did not answer no message left.  This really annoying since I'm on the DO NOT CALL list.

Will you people please stop mentioning the Do-Not-Call List.

1. The Do-Not-Call List does not apply to charities. It should, and you should write to your Congressman to get the exemptions for charities removed. It's annoying, and most of that money goes to the telemarketers, reducing the total that all charities get.

This is an election year. Ask your Congressman and Senator when they're campaigning. If they don't agree, post their position on local web sites.

2. All other telemarketers are scam artists who are doing it to commit fraud, so why should they care about breaking another law?

3. While it doesn't eliminate TM calls, the DNC list does significantly reduce them.

4. The problem is that the federal government has been very lax with enforcement.

Second call from them. 1st  1/10/12 and 2nd 1/20/12. I don't need these people burning up my minutes.
Both robo calls with no one there.

As I was reading all these posts (and I haven't gotten past page 2 yet), I have to agree with Deb--I wonder if all these calls to cell phones came about because a few weeks back there was another one of those "Email alert"s about telemarketers getting the right to call your cell phone unless you put your phone on the "Do not call" list. It was an old scare email (confirmed by Snopes), but I'm wondering if it was a phishing site, even though the number looked legit. I was amazed at the number of posts on here from people having their cell phone called.
Our call came into our landline today, but did not say Wireless Caller. I just thought, I don't know anyone who would be calling me from Chicago. My attitude is, If it's legit, they'll leave a message, and I can call back. Bottom line: Don't answer unless you know who's calling. (Bless Caller-ID.)

what or  who is it?

I am on the do not call list and still receiving calls from solicitors.  I am the one that pays the phone bill services and should not have to tolerate the solicitors that call my number.   Whether it be charity or credit,political etc.  The advertisement of all these callers should be on thru TV or newspapers in which that gives the consumers a choice to watch or read.  We the consumers should not have to worry about answering the phone.

I accidently answered got the recording about a survey and immediately hung up.  My cell phones and home phone is on the do not call list and it don't do much good.  I relisted all my numbers and after 31 days they better look out I am starting to keep a log of these numbers and will report them after my 31 days are up.  We never had this problem until last yr. and we have had the same phone numbers for years.

Call came to my cell phone.  Luckily, I did not hear the phone ring, so did not answer.  No message was left.
