Caller ID read "Wireless Caller"

A woman Just called and asked if we were a manufacturer. And then asked to speak with the Plant Manager and his name. She said she would call back. She gave me no info, soooo.... she will never get through to anyone ever.

This company is a scam DON'T TELL THEM ANY INFORMATION!! Their name is Montage Inc 3580 Wilshire Blvd # 1170 Los Angeles, CA 90010. 1-800-479-0776. Ask for Arash.

I  think legally Com Ed can still call you since you were a customer of theirs , one of the loopholes in the
telemarketer laws

Got two phone calls from the same scammers.  They used the 312-340-5556 and when we didn't answer, they called a minute later from 312-340-5557.  Idiots.  I've already reported them to the DNC list.

Just got a call from this number and didn't answer. After checking here, I called back and got an automated message saying I could press 1 to be removed from their calling list. I guess we'll see if that works or not.

There are different ways to block calls.  One is through the phone company.  Where I am in Illinois, AT&T has a call blocking feature.  I do not remember the exact details, but I do know that I did not like it.  Has something to do with allowed calls having to dial a password to call you.  So instead of you being annoyed, the people calling you are.

The way I block calls is through my voip phone.  I have ooma.  It is a stand alone device that is connected to the internet and your phones.  When I bought it, was around $200.00.  All you pay each month is the applicable tax, which you would pay anyway.  It comes with a number of features.  I then pay 119.95 per year for Premier services.  It includes a Black List Feature.  Any number I add to the black list does not ring my phones.  With all the black list numbers, I choose if I want them to go to voice mail, continuous busy signal or a message that says the phone number is no longer in service.  It is great.  With the Premier service there are a ton more of features such as getting your messages sent to your email.  The down side of the blocked numbers is you only get 256.  In my case, I have used them all and have to start deleting the oldest ones.  Many customers have complained about this including me, so hopefully they are working to improve on this.  If you want more details check out:  http://www.ooma.com/
I checked Amazon, it is now $149.00.  Overall I am around 90% satisfied with the device and service.  One big plus, it is fairly easy to contact customer service if you are having a problem.  Good luck!

This number called me today. Didn't leave a message. I don't recognize the number. My number is on do not call.

Thanks for the feedback, I check here when I get the calls too, and glad this resource is here so I know it wasn't anybody important. I;m glad someone started this one or I'd still be wondering.

Comes up as "Customer Care"  ... I'm so tired of these robo-calls...

Yes, this APPEARS to be from a third party energy provider but I'm convinved it's from ComEd trying to get even for switching to a lower provider.  They keep changing the number everytime we block the number.  Everyone above that wrote in is correct.  But, don't trust these types of phonecalls.  It's getting worse & worse & the DoNotCall list is failing.  It's become a list for scammers to call!  They are gettign smarter & smarter since it's getting harder for them to make a living.  Get a real job you punks!

From the info provided by the other users,
they seem to be an 3rd party energy service provider (Electricity, Gas).
Since some energy suppliers were deregulated, other 3rd party offer lower rates for gas and light.
Hence why they call to let you know to have your electric bill handy when one of their agents is in the area.

Just simply answer and asked them "remove/take me off your call list."

Yep, another energy company scam. They have called using several different numbers for the last two months.

I get calls from this number at least weekly.  Finally pressed zero to speak with someone.  I asked the rep the name of the company, which she told me is "Energy Choice Assistance."  I asked her what exactly her company does.  She responded by asking me if I were under some kind of energy assistance and if I would like a lower rate on my electric bill.  I asked her again to tell me exactly what her company does.  She quickly said "have a nice day" and hung up.

Yep, the are persistant little buggers. They couldn't get me to pick up the phone when they used 312-340-5557 with the name "Rebate Center" about five minutes ago, so I guess they thought they could go back to using this "Customer Care" name and 312-340-5556 number instead just now. That's right, ONE number off from the other. If I didn't already know this was a scam, that pretty much says it all. I really wish these calls could be stopped permanently. One would think these people had brains in their heads that would at some point clue in and make the deduction that if I haven't EVER picked up the phone in the TWO to THREE months these "people" have been calling, that I'm not EVER GOING to pick up the phone, and they should just move on to another person.

I think it is a commonwealth edison competitor.  I hung on. They asked me to have Com-Ed bill handy. As soon as I tersely told the operator I was tired of the calls they hung up.   They have been calling at least once a day.

Received a call tonight from 312-340-5556.  It said customer service.  Did not pick up, as I am sure it was some sort of scam.  I am registered on the Do Not Call website, which I renewed last year but we still seem to be getting a lot of calls.

Called and did not leave a message.  Returned call, picked up by machine that does not identify caller or reason for call.

Have had two calls from this number with called ID "Customer Care". Assuming it is another scam? I did not answer as a Google search didn't turn up any information that would identify this as a legitimate number.
