The people with Privacy Manager is you. It's a feature that you pay for thru your phone service. It blocks most company's & if you follow the options you can either hang up or find out who it is before you actually talk to the person.

If you recall we used to get annoying calls from just about every business out there wanting to sell you something. Most  were "NOT" non for profit. If you think about those calls have pretty much stopped ever since the Do Not Call or Privacy Manager  went into effect. The only calls I ever get are non for profit.
As I was typing this I got another call from this number. I decided to hear who it was & they said Ameritech billing. Never had them.

My problem is that telemarketers get through, but my family living abroad triggers this stupid thing I want to deactivate it.

This number shows up on my caller ID as a privacy manager call. When I try and answer it, I am talking to a computer. When I try and call back, I am prompted that this number doesn't accept incoming calls.
I like for it to stop.

Got the same call too, I have privacy manager and if someone's calling and not allowing their number to show, the caller has to record their name and then you get the options of denying the call or taking it.  With so many scam calls and e-mails you have to be even more diligent protecting yourself from fraudsters who are only out to 1. steal your money and/or 2. steal your identity!  

If we don't recoginize the phone on caller ID we don't answer it!

its a call from chicago its probably a telemarketer go to donotcall.gov and register your number then most telemarketers won't call you anymore

this 312 385-1158 calls and puts privacy manger on my phone and won't say who they are or who they are with.

I got a call from that # too and when I call back it says its disconnected

I posted before as 'WTF?'.  If you have privacy manager on your home phone and then foward your calls (as I did and didn't think about when I googled '312'385-1158')to another number (ie. your cell phone) or if someone else forwards their calls to your # and they have privacy manager, this # will appear on your caller id.  This is not the stalker's #. I love my privacy manager since I dont usually pick up when I see it, NO ONE CAN CALL ME PRIVATE.  Most stalkers will hang up once they hear the message and not bother with the hassel of saying their name and waiting for you to send them to voicemail.  

again - - THis is not the number of a stalker - just the number that the service uses that keeps stalkers from bothering us.

this is like a fake number if you will, which calls you when someone is calling your house and applying *69 to block their number.  It is free with a lot of call packages, and can be taken off if you like.  It is privacy manager.  It calls to ask if you would like to receive the call or not. However the system prompts the caller to say their name or the name of their company if it is a business.  You have the choice of either pushing one to deny or two to accept.  A lot of people use it to block telemarketers.  It is a wonderful tool to have.  I feel that if you are calling my house, I have a right to know who it is, with number shown.  If you block your number, then why are you calling?  perhaps maliciously right?
