I was having a similar problem but I am dealing with Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, so it might be different. I do not make payments to Harris and Harris no matter what. I have been mailing in checks to BUMC to their main payments office. Each time the checks are getting cashed and nothing has been sent back. I might try that if you haven't already. Just a thought. Don't ever answer this number. The moment you do, they will ALWAYS call and never stop. I am receiving harassing calls about medical bills. Even when I changed phone numbers, the hospital I went to, gave them my new number. They call rain or shine, employed or not.

Either Harris & Harris is using ancient info or the Taylors are still using their old phone number when they plan to defraud someone. I've had this number for almost 3 years & still get the occasional debt collection call for them. This was a robo-call & for a change, I listened to it play thru. There's an option to push 3 to let them know it's a wrong number, and I pushed that & hung up.  We'll see....

It's odd to me that New Orleans would use a Chicago law firm to collect outstanding parking fees as others have reported. I've never been there & certainly have no plans to go there now.

got a letter last week from Debt collection agency saying I owed final balance of $117.00 for an ambulance last November 2012. Big suprise. Yes, I though I had paid the balance, got no more notices thought i had made last payment. July I had a very busy month, was out sick for six weeks. I called to ask why I had not received Anything in mail from ambulance co when i had made reg payments. they said not their problem I must now pay debt collection agency. Harris and Harris, who does big business with City of Chicago. I called City to find out how it got shoved to collections with no notice to me. No one can answer. Called city twice to day to find a way to pay balance. Meantime collection agency calling me from 312 423 7510 but not leaving a message. My phone wont even work inside my office. I HAVE WORKED AT HARRIS AND HARRIS but can't get anyone to take payment Unless I go through the collection agency, and frankly I don't trust them to get it right. I called Mayors press office today....no one should be put in collections without notice...Its fairly obvious that if you have Never Paid Late on Anything in 26 years...you are not someone who doesnt pay their bills on time....

Outraged. No msg left, but caller id sez harris n harris.  Other comments say its from parking tkts of new Orleans.  I have never been to the city of New Orleans ever. Must be a scam. I did not answer. This is on sundat aft. Sick of this crap.

This person calls me at least 3x/week. It's harassment.

These people have been harassing me for weeks. They claim to be looking for a person that I never heard of. I am an elderly person with numerous ailments and they call all hours of the day and night. This is extremely distressing. How do I get rid of them? I called the return # and told them they were making a mistake and was ignored. Does anyone know the address of these people. I have acquaintances that would like to pay them a visit.

It is 2013 and this is still going on. We got called today. Why has no one stopped this scam agency?
They have used several phone numbers, google Arnold S harris and find them all.

EXAMPLE/NOTE:  If you apply for an approval to rent at an apartment community-and that community uses 3rd party vendor, "National Tenant Network" to pull your credit-Harris and Harris tracks those inquiry reports.  Ok, that's how it's done.  
But unfortunately Harris and Harris will also run with mismatched people having the exact name but totally different addresses work addresses, employers, etc...on civil court filings, and harass the wrong person in pursuit of a commission, on a debt already bought and sold five times very from say, eight years ago that's not even yours.

File every complaint you can on an ambulance-chasing collection agency.  Just b/c you passed the State Bar doesn't mean you're ethical.

This is not a scam, but a really obnoxious collection agency. They robo called my phone several times a week for over a year, asking for someone I had never heard of. Following the directions during their call to remove your number will not work. I did the research and located the company, Harris & Harris, and called them directly, requesting them to stop calling, but that did not work either. I finally mailed a certified letter telling them to stop calling, and that worked beautifully. After a year of calls, it was worth the effort.

Easiest way to get out of their telephone calling scam... change your phone number to an unlisted number.  Yes, PAY for an unlisted telephone number for at least 2 years.  If your old number is disconnected; they cannot harass you.  And DO NOT give out the phone number!

This is Harris & Harris.  They are debt collectors for all types of debt including medical bills, so even if you think you don't have debt, this may be a lab or hospital bill.

The number belongs to the debt collection division of Harris and Harris law firm. In my case they were collecting a debt on behalf of the New Orleans Parking Division.

I have received 40 or so robo calls asking me to call 312-423-7329 on a "matter very important to you."  I made a complaint to the FCC who did nothing about it.  Very annohing

My grandmother received a call from this number and the guy started fussing at her.  I immediately asked her why was she so upset and she told me that someone on the phone is explaining to her that she has a parking bill for $2000 and she must pay it now or they will take her home away.  She explained to him that she hasn't driven a day in her life and he proceeded to threaten her.  HOW CAN I RESOLVE THIS AND REPORT THIS NUMBER.  THIS HAS TO BE ILLEGAL.  "A Harris PC 312-423-7329" is the number that appears on the caller ID.  I need help!!!!!

You are correct.  It is a collection agency trying to collect for a parking ticket from the city of New Orleans from 2008.

How does one block a number?  They call daily.  I don't answer it, of course, but I would like them to stop calling.  I am on the DNC registry.  I am glad for others' reporting what the nature of the call from this number might be.  Since it would be so easy to find them - for the correct agency - why aren't they fined or prosecuted for harrassment?  It would give scammers pause before dialing.

Keep getting automated phone calls from this number 312-423-7537. They call my house every single day. The caller Id read ash law firm. When I call the number back another machine answers and states they are attempting to collect a dept for a traffic ticket, missed toll, or parking tickets. FUNNY THING IS I DON'T OWN A CAR, And I DONT DRIVE.

A woman asked to speak to me by name but when I asked who was calling she said only, Harris and Harris.  When I informed her no message would be passed to the individual she was calling unless she explained what kind of organization H&H is, she refused to tell me because it was none of my business unless I was the person she was calling for.  I informed her that as long as she is calling MY home, I made the rules and that no information would be passed to anyone unless I knew who was calling.  She got angry and said she'd call back and hung up.

I hate this crap.  Who are these people to call my home repeatedly and then get all cryptic.  If they call again I'm blocking the number.  Creeps!

This is probably a scam. If anyone gets a call from them don't give them any information!!!

They called my brand new cellphone number on the day I got it.  No message

I also got a call from H+H, Harris and Harris.  Woman called and refused to identify what kind of business H+H was.  I let her know that no message or no one speak to her unless she identified the nature of the call.  She got angry and hung up.  Don't accept any calls from Harris and Harris312

I also got a call from this # on BOTH my cell phone AND my house phone, a few different times.  I don't accept calls I don't recognize (that's what my anwering machine/voice mail are for ;0).  I didn't get a message left on either of my phones.  We don't owe any money, so if they are a collection agency, I have NO idea why they would be calling us & HOW they got BOTH of our #'s... I find that VERY odd!

My calls started yesterday and continued today - three calls in all to my cell. I, too, don't answer calls from numbers I'm not familiar with. Don't owe any money to anyone so have no idea why they're calling. I wish this would stop as well. World is getting a bit too messed up.
