Same here. If they keep bothering me they can forget about me ever buying tickets to see shows there again. I've had about enough.

I've asked them to take me off of their lists about 5 times now!!  Evidently they don't listen to me when I talk to them ... The best part is that my mom bought the tickets but put my number on it, so they keep calling my cell phone asking for my mother!!  Grrr  Who thought going to one play (to see my cousin in it) over a year ago would lead to so much aggrevation with these people.  As much as I am very pro-arts I need my money to pay the mortgage!

Do they leave a voicemail with Beethoven's 7th Symphony? I thought I had a creepy stalker who knows I dig Beethoven, at first..

They repeatedly call soliciting for money even though I indicated that I am not interested and to stop calling.  I went on their site where I was registered and changed the phone number I had on record from when I bought tickets.  Insert a bogus number instead of just deleting it.  If you just delete and save...it will retain the old number.  I inserted their box office number 312 443 3800 so they can call that as much as they want. Hopefully that will stop the calls!

It's the Goodman Theatre, for sure. I have been getting these calls for a few months - and emailed them to tell me to take me off their list, and was assured I would be removed. Well, not 3 minutes ago I got another call from them. Fortunately, I didn't pick up (as I'm at work.)

Dude, I bought tickets to ONE show a year ago - leave me alone.

These jerks are relentless!  I have asked them to stop calling me FIVE times now.  They are calling me on an unlisted landline.  I have never ordered any tickets from them or dealt with them in any manner.  My guess is they just have someone cold calling numbers, right in order.

The last time they called, they let it ring 10 times, then called back and let it ring 3 more.  I picked it up and yelled "STOP CALLING" and slammed the phone down.  Maybe that'll drop a hint?

Why is there a national Do Not Call list if no one has to pay attention to it?

I've been working in Chicago theatre for over 10 years and I've been on every call list you can imagine (Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, Chicago Symphony, Art Institute, Lyric Opera, etc.). The very best thing you can do to stop them from calling is pick up the phone when it rings and asked to be removed from the list. Emailing won't help. Calling and complaining to random administrative staff won't help. Angry letters to the executive office won't help either. Most of these people calling are working off of sheets of paper and aren't working off of a computer database where they can just type in your number and take you off the list. When they call just ask to be removed and they can cross you off the list right then and there. These are all not-for-profit companies that rely on donations to stay in business so they are exempt from the government regulated Do Not Call lists. Giving them a bogus number also doesn't help. Odds are someone will eventually use your number for their bogus number. And what happens if the show you're seeing is canceled or the exhibit you had tickets for had to be closed due to an emergency? If you don't want to be solicited for donations just say so whenever someone asks for your phone number. Tell them it's to be used for emergencies only. All of these arts organizations share call lists. Odds are if you've never been to a show at Steppenwolf but have been to a show at Victory Gardens, Steppenwolf will inevitably get your contact information unless you tell Victory Gardens you don't want to be called. These are charitable organizations people not AT&T, Comcast or the Chicago Tribune. They are looking for your support. If you just let the phone ring they won't eventually give up. They have a job to do and they will be persistent. Telemarketers have a high turnover rate so odds are the person that called you at one o'clock in the afternoon is not the same person calling you at seven thirty or the same person calling you two days after that so they don't exactly know that last time you were called. A simple "No thank you. Please remove me from your list." is all you need to do.

Received a very long message with classical music and then at the end was a voice of a guy who said he was a doctor at Northwestern University Hospital.    It was as if it was his own voice mail message, and he asked for you to leave a message.
