If you recently searched for a job online and provided your name and phone number, the web page you are responding to has a very small disclaimer at the bottom of the page that says you give your permission to be called by college advisors to discuss advncing your education. (WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE JOB POSTING YOU WERE INTERESTED IN)  Pretty sneaky and deceptive marketing tool to get your personal contact information to sign you up for continuing education.  I didn't answer phone because I don't know anyone in Chicago area code - they did not leave me any voice mail message.  Called them back on my Skype which doesn't have my callback number identified - got THEIR voice mail talking about continuing education and also indicated you can opt out of their telemarketing calls by deleteing your number from their database (Just their database ONLY - this not a National do not call list).  To achieve this, listen to their message, press option 2, keep listening to the next message which confirms the number you are calling from that you want them to stop calling, and if your phone number is correct it will be removed from database, then press option 1 and you will hear message. "Your number has been added to our do not call list". So I then called them back on my "real" phone number to stop their calling me since they can never call me back on my Skype #.  If I still get calls, I will add update, however, for those of you getting multiple calls and are frustrated and want the calls to stop... I would recommend you try my solution.  Good Luck - nice to know these message boards can help us little folks from those big bad pesky telemarketers.

I recieved a call im located in Toronto. They asked to talk to me by name and then said they were responding to a request for a job search from the internet. i asked from what website or company they were calling from and they simply said have a nice day sir. Something is going on here.

these people are outrageous...the guy i spoke with this morning told me his name is "jason jones"and that he is an employee of the "U.S. DEPT. OF EDUCATION"~I WAS PROMISED A 5,000 DOLLAR CHECK TO BE DELIVERED TO MY HOME BY ONE OF THEIR REPS WITHIN THE NEXT 2-3 DAYS,NO STRINGS ATTACHED...TO BE USED AT MY DISCRETION FOR ANY COLLEGE OF MY CHOICE...OR NOT...in order to receive this bounty,i merely had to agree to listen to the "spiel"{his word}of three-four college recruiters in my hometown in the next several days...AND I WAS INSTRUCTED NOT TO MENTION THE MONEY TO ANY OF THEM,SO THAT THEY DID NOT THINK I WAS CHOOSING TO ATTEND THEIR ESTABLISHMENT BASED SOLEY ON MY ANTICIPATION OF RECIEVING THE CASH...he was concerned i not give them the "wrong impression"of my motives....HA!...HE ALSO PUT ME ON THE PHONE WITH HIS "SUPERVISOR" WHO PROMPLY GAVE ME MY OWN PERSONAL VERIFICATION CODE,..224B183...CALLED IT AN 'ORDER NUMBER"...THESE PEOPLE GO FROM BAD TO WORSE...NOW THEY ARE PROCLAIMING TO BE AN OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY...TIME TO CALL THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU,I DO BELIEVE...

I just got a call from this number,did not answer,not interested.

This number just called me and did the same thing...called and left a message and heard wind and people in the background but I couldnt hear what they were saying...this is ridiculous.

Received a phone call on my cell from this number but no message was left.  I suspect there is a connection with having recently updated my LINKED IN profile??

They have called thre times today and I answer and then I just hear background noise and no one says anything and they hang up.

they left a message but on the message i heard backgroung noise like they were in a car and i heard music playing but it was distinct. and when they were giving me options to get on the no all list it was a live person requesting my response it didnt sound real to me i cant trust it

they call me up to 12 times a day its really annoying a its ridiculous 12 times a day is harassment if they are only wondering about school they dont leave messages and dont answer if you call back

Not sure how these clowns got my number. Very presistent called me twice already. Fortunately all they got was my google voice number.

This number contacted me twice this morning around 9 am and then tow hours later. I answered the second time knowing that it was a school calling I just said wrong number.

I receive 5 to 6 phone calls from 312-563-1616 daily. There is no one there when I answer.

I answered the call and it is a College line, they ask you what type of career you prefer then go by that on which college they are going to send you information about. They were actually really helpful! They sent me a list of colleges, most I actually applied to my senior year. Some were more in my price range that I could have used all along.

This number actually called my phone several times. This last time they called it left a 2 minute voicemail. When I listened to the voicemail it was just people talking in the background, and it didn't even sound like they were in a professional institution either. It sounded more like a bunch of people sitting around eating pizza. It was ridiculous.
