I sent a text message to someone I know and got a text back from the person's contact number immediately saying 'Hey i need to talk to you! call this number cuz my fones dyin'..the message came from a contact number that I know but wasn't sent by that person! how could that happen?!?

The number is a hotline that makes you feel better about your day then afterwards says, "Also buy our ringtones" don't worry, it's nothing illegal for bad...just fun.

My son received a text message on his cell phone from the number 312--588-3107 which requested that he call them immediately. Since I didnt know who it was, i asked him not to call. Glad I did. After reading what others have gone thru. This cant be legal???  Where did they get his number from?! The actual number on my caller id was 312-804-2028.

I just got it and it told me it was a call from Talent Drive about a job and I should check my e-mail.  Sounds like crap to me.

OK folks, here is the skinny, yep you guessed it - it happened to me too, so I called my provider (US CELLULAR) and after keeping me on hold for 5 mins, the rep told me there would be no way for an outside phone company to charge me/bill me for that $19.95!. The US CELLULAR team, traced the call and they said it is a scam but no way it could end up charging me for it. So, best bet for all you folks, do not call any number that comes in your text and just simply GOOGLE it. No bill for me about this crap!..Whew......lesson learned. Now I can chllax and enjoy Turkey-Day! Happy Hollydays. *smiles*

i also got a text from a friend saying to call it, but it said the circuts were busy. its a joke from what ya'll say, so it isn't a big deal. but i was wondering where this was coming from.

I got a text message last night saying "Hey I just got into some $hit and I need to talk to you, call me @ 312 588 3107 cause my phone's dieing" and I called it TWICE but both times it said "We're sorry, all circuits are busy now, Please try again later" --- I wonder if I'll be charged since I didn't get the message at all, it was busy both times....

I got the number from my friend on the bus and then I called it and I was so scared that I would charged even though she said that It won't! then I got on here and found out It won't charge!! Yay! LOL

Yea Chicago phone number. Friend sent the text. Luckily I"m just a paranoid kinda guy. So i googled it and found all this crap. I remember another friend sent me a "Best Buy is giving away giftcards if you call XXX-XXXX) and of course it was like a gay hotline or something. Don't be so gullable!

I also called this number without looking it up.I was worried because a friend send it to me at 11:00 pm, and told me he needed to talk to me.He said it  was an emergency. That he was using a friend phone, because his phone was not working. So I ended up calling it. I hang up once I heard they will be charging.Hope this is a joke. I called my friend with his real number, and told him that I better not received chargers because he was going to pay for them, then he laugh.
