The callers probably aren't claiming to BE the FBI; instead, they're claiming that the FBI has issued a warning or statement about crime in the area. Scare the recipient into purchasing an overpriced, crappy 'home security system' that separates you from your money and lacks the effectiveness of a legless, blind, deaf, and mute Pekingese.

Interesting you should bring that up, because I got the same two numbers successively as well.

Yeah, they call my cell every so often but I never set up voice mail. Glad I know I can erase the number. Thanks folks.

unknown # called my cell.  #3126839674.  I didn't answer. instead I looked it up.  these people are harassing others. needs to stop.  called the number. didn't identify their business.

Just got a call from 312-683-9674 on my cell phone... didn't answer, no message.

"FBI reporting an increase in home breakins." Obviously a scam--the FBI doesn't have anything to do with home breakins.

LOL!  Installing apps via telephone clal know. paranoid much?  Got this call on my sons phone. He didn't answer... but no one can install apps via phone call.

do not answer for any strange number or no ID.  That's the best solution!

Caller ID says:
"GB Marketing CO"
"1-312-683-9674"

It went to VM, but they did not leave a message.  Fn Scammers.  

This number left a voicemail re: Free Security system, if I let them put a sign in my yard.  Didn't answer, put it on my phones' reject list.

same happened to me.  I received the 614-516-0402 last night at 7:30 pm, and now this morrning at 11 from 312-683-9674.  Didn't answer either one.  Good thing I googled first.

got this call also.  no msg left.  called twice. I called them back no one is there just an answering machine, they got toilet flushes on there ans mach

I got a call from there just about an hour ago. Should I be worried about them hacking information from my phone? Should I take precautions by resetting my phone?

I rec'd a call from both numbers. Funny thing is, each call came to two different cell phones. I did not answer either phone.

Just got a call from 312-683-9674, said hello there was about twenty seconds of silence then it hung up... or I hung up... it woke me up so they could have actually been talking I wouldn't know. The thing I don't get is that I never give my cell number for anything except job applications and that one time on collegeboard.com a long time ago. I keep track, so how the hell did these guys get my number if I've only ever given it when there was been a sworn statement it wouldn't be given to telemarketers etc.?

  There so many scam companies out here And I recommend not answering the phone if you don't recognize the number. Then immediately block a call out of your phone.
  If you should accidentally receive a scam call, do not ask questions or carry on a conversation. Just block them out of your phone. If they are legit they will send you correspondence in the mail and you can check it out at your own leisure. If someone tries to rush you to make a purchase know that its a scam. I'd love a call blocker on my telephone

Just got one here at the office.  Right at 8AM too.  Heard the robo voice say something about FBI.  Pressed 1 until someone came on the line and then put them on hold so they could listen to our wonderful muzack.  This must be the latest scam.

Number just called my mum's phone, answered, something about security sytem.

It isn't the FBI it says according to reports from the FBI and it is for security system.  I thought you couldn't do automated phone calls to unpublished phone numbers.  The minute I hear the automated message I hang up just like most people do so I don't have a name.

Got the first call just now.  I didn't answer and they left no VM.  I will add it as a contact with the name of SCAM and also add the other OH number to the same contact to be sure I don't answer it if they try that tactic.

I never answer any numbers that I don't know...  but I'm currently looking for work and need to answer calls that could be from prospective employers.

Before I could finish this report the OH number called on my wifes phone.  We did not pick up.
