Wow!  People are ignorant and full of drama. "Geoffrey from Toys R Us is calling me wishing me happy birthday. Oh no! It's not my birthday, I've never been to Toys R Us, and this is a new number. How did they get it?? They must be stalking me!" Um no, brainiac. The person who had your number before you obviously had their child enrolled in the birthday club so that is why Geoffrey is calling. Obviously when that person changed their number they didn't call Toys R Us to have it taken off the list. So either quit being lazy and do it yourself or quit griping and deal with the once or twice a year that they call (however many kids the person had). For those of you who have had your numbers for awhile and suddenly start getting calls, obviously somebody transposed some numbers, it happens. I refer you to my previous piece of advice. There are worse things in the world than having a make belief giraffe sing you happy birthday!

I just got this call.  Didn't recognize it and while I was looking it up I saw they'd left a voice mail.  A voice wishing 'my fellow birthday club member' a happy birthday.  Obviously the person who had the number before me was a member.  hahaha.

Phone numbers get transposed all the time.  YOU are not being singled out.  YOU are not being watched.

If the call was not meant for you, get your number removed from their call list.  It is simple to do.  Don't feel like you are being made to go out of your way to be removed.  One way or another, your number was entered in their system.  That makes it YOUR responsibility to have it removed.

So called NEW phone numbers are just ones being reused.  It was someone elses number before it was assigned to your phone.

It's Toys R Us - someone had your number BEFORE you.  Just call Toys R U and ask to have your number removed.

No, it's not because they ask for you number, someone registered with their birthday club, to receive a phone call from Geoffrey - just call and have your number removed.  Obviously, the person who registered either changed their number, or wrote it down incorrectly.

People just call and have the number removed, my son gets a call every year and it makes him feel important that people remember his special day! That is the whole purpose, I mean its something when your family members remember you, but for a young child it is special that Geoffrey is calling! Take a chill pill and live life a little! Geez

"Why does most people on this thread have their drawers in a wad?  It's just Toys R Us calling to wish a child at your number a Happy Birthday. "  Oh yeah?  Then why are they calling a business number?  I saw what it was on the caller ID, picked up and hung up.  Got a call immediately after from "Out of Area" and lo and behold it was the same Toys R Us robo call wanting to wish the child in the household a happy birthday.  This is a business number.  More than likely some nimrod putting what they think is a bogus number on what ever card they filled out.

Just received a call from this number on a brand new cell phone, how do they get the numbers so quickly?  I called Toys'r us and asked where they got the number from and they said "Oh, it was probably some sort of solicitation call, I don't know where they get the numbers from"!!

Why does most people on this thread have their drawers in a wad?  It's just Toys R Us calling to wish a child at your number a Happy Birthday.  Like someone above mentioned, your number may have belonged to someone who had their child registered with their birthday club.  Just call and have your number removed.  I didn't pickup because for whatever reason my caller ID registered the call being from Chicagoznoi IL.  They left a birthday wish on my voicemail for my grandson and a number to call if the call was in error.  Geez.  I know there are lot of scammers and crap calls out there (believe me I have had my share), give these guys a break.  They are doing something postive in the world and not trying to get their hands into your back pocket.  Have blessed day!!!

This is just another attempt by Collections to get you to answer your phone... Similar to the "lower your credit card rate" scam...Anything to change the DLA on your credit report...! Just let them keep wasting their time (and money) calling and ignore them....

If you receive a call from Geoffrey then someone gave them the number.  Remember that telephone numbers are recycled so the previous owner of that number could have been signed up for their child.  Quit being such a Scrooge.  Just call and have the number removed.  It is not a darn telemarketer so why mark as such??? The things people complain about.... Sheesh.

I too received a call from this number, but on my 'emergency use only' cellphone this evening at 1619 hrs. I dislike SPAMMERs which call me daily on this phone. I used to get charged for every call I answered, but I've since learned to simply ignore them and then add SPAMMER numbers as a Verified SPAMMER into my phone's Contact List. This way when they call, I read that it's a Verified SPAMMER and I just ignore the calls. With regard to this call, I've haven't been to Toys R Us in three decades and I didn't even have a cellphone at the time. I dislike Spammers and used to religiously report them all to the Federal Do Not Call program; but it appears to me that it must an 'unmanned' governmental department, as nothing ever seems to get done?
