Just got a call from this today. From reading the posts here it looks like they try to hit you up for made up parking tickets, toll infringements, etc. it's going to be very interesting to hear this from them when we've been in Chicago for 9 years and have never owned a car!!

This site has no power or ability to stop callers from calling you or anyone else. It is simply an information exchange site with user supplied information on unknown callers. If this is reputable company, you should be able to call them back and tell them you do not know any Curtis Moore and to please remove your number from his file. You can also ask for their mailing address. Then send them a "cease and desist" letter US Mail, Certified, Return Receipt. That should stop the calls. If not, you can take legal action against them for $1000 for every call you get after they have received your cease and desist letter.
A search on Arnold S Harris Law Firm brings up the following from the Chicago BBB:
THIS BUSINESS IS NOT BBB ACCREDITED
Arnold Scott Harris, P.C.
Phone: (312) 759-5400
Fax: (312) 759-5411
111 W. Jackson Blvd., Ste 600, Chicago, IL 60604

Another site confirms this is the firm Cook County has contracted to collect on old tickets etc.

We got a letter in the mail and a phone calls from these people regarding a parking ticket we got in the city of Chicago over 15 years ago that we contested back then. How do we get them to leave us alone? Do we have any leverage against them?

They have been calling my mother's house for more than one year asking for me. I haven't lived with her in over a decade. Nice try, morons! Yes, it was a Mr. Scott at 312-893-4867.

Dude stop calling looking for someone I don't know and get the right number
| Chris 2013-04-02 01:40:15 Unknown |
LOL at these guys. I just received a message from these clowns telling me to please call "Mr. Scott" ASAP. Yeah, I'll get right on that.
Options, as I see them, are three:
1. Call "Mr. Scott" back pretending to be "Captain Kirk" and tell him we need more power.
2. Answer the next time they call so I can inquire as to what prestigious law school one must attend to chase down 10-15 year old parking tickets (I haven't lived in Chicago since 2000 and probably didn't get a parking ticket after 1998).
3. Ignore them entirely.
The right answer is 3, though 2 and 1, in that order, might be worth the entertainment factor.

Should they be reported to the state attorney general? In my case, they're calling across state lines.

Received a message stating to call a Mr. Smith. If they are trying to collect on old parking tickets, it's a joke to me. I have not even worked in or been in the city in over 10 years. Legit or not, I am not going to waste my time calling them.

Just got an automated call from these guys mispronouncing my name and asking me to call Mr. "Smith". Not aware of any parking tickets in Chicago. Even I had an old ticket I would not be giving anyone any personal information over the phone.

Got a an automated call from these people at 312-893-4867 and ask fro Ms. Sims from Law offices of Arnold something. Right off the bat I believe they bought parking tickets that were uncollectable by the city of Chicago and they're trying to collect for their firm. Beware sneaky weasel lawyers!!!

Actually, they are a legit law firm. If you go to any DMV in Chicago, there is a desk there with employees of ASH. They handle payment plans for the Chicago Department of Revenue. For example, if you rack up a bunch of parking tickets and you cannot pay it all off at once, you set up a payment plan so that the city does not boot or tow your car. The law office buys your tickets from the city, and you just pay the law office. Like most places that handle debt collection, if they have a certain phone number associated with a name, I have no doubt that they will call incessantly even if the number is wrong. But being obnoxious is not the same thing as being lying scam artists.

These people started calling us, too. Don't assume they really have something on your relative, just because they know the name. They can get it any number of ways.
In our case, they don't know our real names. THey're attempting to contact a made-up name that we use in fun on a particluar document. Looks like they're bogus.
As well, I collected the ph #s they say to call...and also the caller IDs that correspond with the time of their threatening voicemails...and searched them on bing.com. The blogs about these #s invariably refer to people getting harassed for names that aren't connected with them, and for charges they don't owe. Apparently, LOoASH trumps up charges for tolls, parking tickets, red-light violations.
Since we have a very clean record, we're doubly sure they're lying scum. JIC, we checked Illinois Tollway Authority records and City of Chicago records. More confirmation that Law Offices of ASH are definitely lying scum..because there's nothing there, just as we knew.
Several years ago, another firm tried this. I searched online about them, too. Turned out they'd been sued by several Attorneys General from several states, with judgements entered against them. Yet they were still at it. So must be giving a kickback to politicians to let them keep up their shady work.

Started getting calls last week from a Mr. Adams at this number also a call from a Lisa Grant of Arnold Scott Harris, law firm @ 312-604-7192. The calls from Adams use something to diguise the caller's voice. According to the prefix the calls are from Chicago. They want forwarding of their messages for a family member. QUESTION--why are we being hounded all of a sudden?
